Area Information
Glen Ellen has a fascinating history and it has managed to keep it's rural atmosphere over the years. I't most famous resident was Jack London, undoubtably the most famous writer of his time. His ranch which he began purchasing in 1911 is now Jack London State Park and Museum. The road on which the Glen Ellen Nest is located was once the entrance to Jack's Beauty Ranch. Another attraction close to the "Nest" is Jack London Village which houses Restaurants, chocolate tasting room, wine tasting room. Olive & Vine is a fabulous restaurant, as well as The Yeti a great Nepalese Restaurant. A short walk to town the visitor will find a diverse assortment of Restaurants and a Gourmet Market to fill your every need. The landscape is bucolic and the adventurous traveler will find many biking and hiking trails.
