“Lovely Beach house near nice beach”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2016

This is a very nice home close to beach access. It has been decorated nicely and has all the tools and appliances you might need. We enjoyed the Hot tub in the evenings. The master bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor and very comfortable. Not having a bathroom on the 2nd floor was a bit of a problem. The 2nd bathroom downstairs has a shower with no shower head, just a nozzle. No one wanted to use that, so all ended up in master shower, a bit of an inconvenience. The oven wasn't working quite right, but I'm sure that the owners will take care of that. Be careful of the step into the 2 smaller bedrooms upstairs. It's hard to see and we had a few falls going into the rooms. All in all, it's a very nice home with a pool table and ping pong table for the kids. We had 8 adults and 2 kids and we had plenty of room. The owners are very nice to work with

Nice cozy home that allows us to relax and enjoy each others company. I really like this house, it has a great vibe! Instructions on the TV/DVD/video system would be useful (Luckily, one of the ladies at our retreat is an engineer)... we got it figured out, but it took us a while! Also, please have the housekeeper check the "clean" dishes in the cupboards, many were dirty when we pulled them out...

Owner's reply: Thank you for commenting on our home. We recently installed a new cable box and with Blue Ray,and surround sound it is confusing on getting the TV the way you want it. I will work on directions. As for the dishes , we do ask our house keeper to check , obviously that didnt happen and I apologize for that. All VHR rentals require renters to wash dishes and that leaves us vunerable to exactly what happened. I will address it with housekeeping. Glad you enjoied your stay! Sincerely, Marv

“Very comfortable home”

We had a very nice time staying at the Hayden House. It is central to many sightseeing adventures. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. We would stay there again.

“A jewel by the sea”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2015

We absolutely loved our time here! Months before Xmas I contacted owner to rent this house after looking at many! My daughter and her extended family live in Oregon so I thought this would make a perfect extra gift for everyone to be together at the coast... We were all so surprised to view each room and the amenities ... The kids loved playing ping pong and pool with the adults and even though we got a little bit of rain we enjoyed the. Hot tub! This location has become a very special place for myself and family and look forward to making our return next December. To sit up on the deck outside one of the bedrooms and watch and listen to the strong waves were fabulous. Thank you for sharing your Jewel by the Sea with us!

Owner's reply: Thanks Denise for your nice review. We will be starting some remodeling in our Kitchen and bathrooms, so if you visit us next year we will have a nice new home for you to enjoy! Looking forward to your return trip! Marv

“Family Friendly”

Reviewed 12 Nov 2014

My family absolutely enjoyed the stay at the beach house in Gleneden Beach. Accommodations were great for cooking, comfortable for sleeping, entertaining with many activities available...pool table, ping pong, Wi-Fi, cable TV and not to mention access to the beach for morning/evening walks with the FAMILY. LOVED IT!

Owner's reply: Thanks Diana for the review! We love our location with close beach access less than a 100 yards from the house! Great for our grand kids too. We hope you return next year! Marv

“Family, Feasts & Fun at Gleneden Beach”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2014

At the Hayden house, our group of six found it quite comfortable. With two master king bedrooms, and two additional queen bedrooms, there was plenty of sleeping accommodations at this lovely beach house , but the sparkle to this gem was the kitchen!! It was so well equipped, there were 5 whisks!! We could not complain! Anything we needed was available. Plenty of dishes, dishwasher, laundry room with extra large appliances. Pool table, table tennis. Whirlpool. Kite-flying, beach bumming by day returning to our "sweet safe home" by the roaring ocean at night. We stayed 4 nights and took turns at making family favorites like Andros style potato omelette for breakfast, Greek style green beans, steak & lobster, homemade potato salad, Bob's pork & beans, & our sons' favorite pot roast with macaronya. The guys even brought their "smoker" from Seattle for the best BBQ ribs this side of the country. This rental was spot on for our area for renting. We really enjoyed ourselves. There were many amenities, too many to mention. The rooms were large with the beds quite comfortable. The owner, Marv Taylor was quite accommodating with his detailed instructions and directions.

Owner's reply: Hi Grace- Thanks for the kind remarks! Before we owned our beach house we stayed in plenty of rentals that had poorly equipped kitchens with barely a pot to cook with! So we made sure that our kitchen would not disappoint and so far everyone has been happy with all we have provided. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Gleneden Beach! Marv

“Family Ocean Retreat”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2014

Our family loved this home due to the way it made us feel welcome. The décor, cleanliness and thought put into making sure anything we needed was available. We were surprised at how well the kitchen was stocked with special cooking utensils, pans, skillet etc. Very much appreciated. The beds were comfortable and lots of extra blankets and pillows available . We were fortunate to have wonderful weather however the game room came in handy for the grandkids when the adults needed a break! The yard and hot tub, clean, well kept. Short walk to beach , wonderful neighborhood. House roomy and layout wonderful for large group. Would highly recommend this property for a great time !

“Nice Home”

Well kept home....we enjoyed our stay, the only draw back is both bathrooms downstairs and one being the master bathroom other than that its priced good and close to beach...nice to have a game room also.
