Perfect Place in Maine

August 15, 2015

My family of 6 stayed here a week in July and made it our HQ for our Maine adventures. It is the PERFECT place! It is beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice. It's location to the water (surrounded on 3 sides) makes every time of the day a painting. The kids played in the tide pools and found all sizes and shapes of hermit crabs, jelly fish, mussels/clams and even a starfish! Didn't really even need to leave the house as there was so much to take in. Because of how beautiful and relaxing it is at the house, my family actually spent the evenings talking and playing games together--something that we don't get the chance to do at home very often, especially with teenagers. Priceless time spent. Thank you, Kim, for being so great to work with and letting us experience Baypoint! The bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for a large family and the wood work and amenities at the house were more than we could ask for. This stay was TRULY a vacation we will not forget. Thanks again and we most certainly would recommend this place to others and would definitely stay here a again.

Spectacular house!

This property is amazing. It sets out on a beautiful point with panorama views of the ocean/bays on three sides. Everywhere in the house and on the property has terrific views. And the second floor roof deck is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset. We relaxed more than we can remember, and look forward to coming back next year.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

We just got back from a week stay at this home. The home is gorgeous inside and out. The house was clean, the amenities in the home were great, and the views were so nice. We brought our four and five year old with us, and they had lots of room to run. You are isolated here. The beach is kind of rocky and lots of kelp. It is not a place for swimming .Our children were entertained exploring the tide pools, digging in the sandy area, and running around the expansive property! If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is the place for you. The Schoodic area of Acadia National Park is a short drive away and a great place to hike, picnic, and see wildlife without the crowds that you see in the Acadia National Park located near Bar Harbor. The property manager is great. Excellent communication. -- Julie O. July 2011

The house was immaculate! It was equipped with everything we needed - and more! The view from the house was amazing. It was so very peaceful, tranquil and serene. My children (ages 4 & 5) loved playing by the water - the cold didn't stop them. We made two trips to Acadia National Park which was spectacular. We did some hiking and saw some great wildlife. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would not hesitate to recommend this home. As a side note, the house is very isolated (which we loved), but it was a bit of a ride to get to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. -- Sarah S. July 2012

This cottage has been perfect for our family vacation, which included our three grandchildren (ages 8 and 10). We swam every day, either at the shore on the property or at the nearby sand beach and enjoyed all manner of wildlife. We watched the lobster boats haul their catch, and ate lobsters on the shore. The house is spacious, airy and user-friendly; it is very tastefully designed and furnished. The property manager is friendly and accessible and answered all our questions. This has been our second vacation at this cottage and it remains our favorite. Recommended for those who want peace and quiet and gorgeous vistas a few feet from the bay. -- Judy R. August 2014

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How far away from Acadia National Park is the house?
A: Acadia National Park's Schoodic Point, the "quiet side" of Acadia, is only about 8 miles away. The Mount Desert Island portion of the park is about a 45 minute drive, or a fun ferry ride from Winter Harbor (about 10 miles from the house).
Q: Is there a place to get fresh lobsters nearby?
A: Absolutely! We have two lobster co-ops in the Peninsula where our fisherman bring their catch for you to buy fresh from their daily haul. The village of Corea is about 5 miles from the house and has its own co-op on Crowley Island Road. Winter Harbor, the neighboring town, also has a co-op that's about 10 miles from the house.
Q: Is the waterfrontage at the house kid friendly?
A: Yes! The shoreline is a gradual slope toward the water's edges. There are a few places with pebbles/sand as well as some rockier areas. At low tide there are tide pools and seaweed to explore.
