Description of the Grand Cayman vacation villa rental
This area has been described as 'The Caribbean the way it's supposed to be!' Great family-share home. One of 15 colorful homes known as the Seacliff Resort Homes development. Only two of these homes are ocean front and 'Lemon' is one of them. Located on the Frank Sound Marine Park, also known as Mahogany Cove. Largest floor plan with 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths. Very spacious, sleeps 7 in beds with room for more if required.

Mahogany Cove is just into the East End region-2.5 miles past Breakers and the cutoff to Rum Point. At least four 5-star restaurants are within a 5-15 minute drive and Georgetown is a beautiful 30-minute drive away with cinema, duty-free shopping, more dining and lots of recreational options. Rum Point, about 5 miles North offers fine and casual dining and many recreational choices as well, including kayak and jet bike tours through mangrove trees and the bioluminescent bay-one of only 12 in the world!

An almost private beach is directly in front of our home. It is sandy, groomed and it includes lounges which can sit in sun or shade. A sandy entry to the water is just steps away. A beautiful wrap-around patio/porch allows plenty of room for families to enjoy the peaceful view, sounds of the sea and all that the Caribbean is famous for providing.

Seacliff is about 30 minutes from the Grand Cayman airport. Several great restaurants are in the East End area and there are several dive operators as well. The cutoff to Rum Point is 2.2 kilometers (just over 1 mile) away. Georgetown is a beautiful 30-minute drive (through Bodden Town and Savannah), followed by the famous Seven Mile Beach and eventually by the area known as West End.

The home was beautifully built and furnished about ten years ago along with the other Seacliff resort homes - mostly across the street from the beach. The Lime and Lemon homes are the only two Seacliff properties that are ocean front. Lemon includes three spacious bedrooms - 2 with queen beds and one with two single beds. A 7th person can sleep in the loft-office area on a provided futon. There are 3 full baths on the second floor and a half bath on the ground floor where the kitchen, living and dining areas are located.

Please note
This is not the same home described as "East End Beach Home Seacliff Resort". That home which happens also to be yellow is smaller and located in the group of homes across the street. It recently was reviewed with two stars for deceptive advertising re: wifi. We have the best wifi available-you will only be "off the grid" if you choose to be.

The Master bedroom has a queen bed with 600-thread count linens, lots of pillows and an en-suite bath with marbled shower and jetted tub. There is a small patio off of this bedroom with even better views than the porch downstairs, if that is possible! The guest bedroom also on the second floor has a queen bed and another en-suite full bath. Both of these rooms have large walk-in closets. Finally, a third bedroom on this floor furnished with two single beds has access to the third full bath-just down the hall. A guest 1/2 bath is conveniently located on the ground floor with the living room, dining area and kitchen.

Georgetown is where the cruise ships normally dock so it is the 'gateway' to duty-free shops, the famed Seven Mile Beach and many recreational activities such as golf, tennis, sport fishing, trips to Stingray City and the West Bay Turtle Farm. In Camana Bay (part of Georgetown) is the island's only cinema, several more excellent restaurants (Cayman is famous for its gastronomy) and lots more duty-free shopping choices.

Grand Cayman is the largest and most developed of the three Cayman Islands in the British West Indies (BWI). Cayman Brac and Little Cayman are each a short flight away. Cuba is another popular trip from Cayman. You can arrive in Havana in about 45 minutes on Cayman Airways. You can see Havana well in a weekend, but to see more of Cuba you need a week or more.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can you swim in front of your home?
A: Yes! While the home is located on a protected marine area ("Replenishment Zone"), this only means that you cannot take marine life (dead or alive) out of the water with you. You can fish here (with restrictions) and swim to your heart's content. There is also a sandy entry a few feet away from our home both from the empty lot next door and the small public beach just after (Heritage Beach). We do recommend water shoes and we have some for you to use if they fit. This is because there are rocks and sea grass in the shallow areas. There is also no surf in front of our home until you get to the reef which is about a 1/4 mile out. A link we have provided details the rules around this area for your further information.
Q: What makes this vacation rental special?
A: It's the "Caribbean the way the Caribbean is supposed to be"! This is a quiet, beautiful part of Cayman. We are away from the crowds and traffic of Seven Mile Beach (SMB), yet a close drive to Rum Point where there is every type of recreational activity. The walks along the shore here are exceptional. The back of the house provides East-facing sunrises while the front faces South and West so you get beautiful sunsets. And the drive to Georgetown/SMB is only 30 minutes and beautiful should you want to have some of both. It is like "having your cake - and eating it too"!
Q: Are you in the business of Vacation Home Rentals?
A: No, we are not. We are a professional couple that lives in Cayman most of the year (at Seacliff Lemon) and in Los Angeles about 25% of the time. So we maintain comfortable homes in both locations and rent each of them when we are not there. Consequently the home is seetup for comfortable living with great linens and towels, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, pillows and more. You will not feel like you are living in a hotel room or strictly rental space with the least expensive of everything. Do note however that there will be some personal belongings in the rooms we use, but we keep a full empty dresser and plenty of closet space available for our guests.
