An Oasis in the Desert

A unique experience for us indeed. Be prepared to have your expectations exceeded in many ways. We are 2 couples in our 60's who travel frequently together. We can say with confidence that Huguette's home is up there with the best. We do not spend a lot of time in big cities. Huguette's home was our base for 2 wks to see 'Mother Nature' and we even played 18 holes one day. We had our own bedrooms with full ensuite. It is a B&B and condo rolled into one. The home and property are as beautiful as the online photos indicate. Huguette, in an unobtrusive way, made sure we had everything that we needed. She was also a valuable resource for knowledge of the area, when asked. The kitchen(s) are the best equipped that we have had anywhere. If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet place 'away from it all' with a very generous hostess we highly recommend Huguette's.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful house
January 28, 2015
I had a wonderful stay. The welcome was warm and friendly. My host was exceptional, she made me feel at home and welcome in her house. She is very knowledgable of the local area and attractions. The accommodation was beautiful, the house itself is stunning and very tastefully decorated. The house is convenient to Tubac, Tuscon and surrounding areas but is in a peaceful and quiet location, creating the feel of a desert retreat. The views from my bedroom were incredible. My breakfasts were prepared well at the time I required and the food was delicious. The host offers a laundry service, which was of a very an exceptional standard. My stay here was very special and I would not hesitate to stay again. I thoroughly recommend this property for your vacation.
Cal: Thank you for your review. You were a very easy guest to please, how could I not do my best to make your stay as pleasant as possible respecting your privacy at the same time? I will be delighted to have you & husband whenever as other students coming from all over the world taking classes in Amado or visit AZ. I wish you the best in your enterprise of helping people with psychological therapy in need of help to attend wellness & happiness. Merci, merci Cal! Huguette

This was our base of operations for exhibiting at the 2011 Tubac Festival of the Arts. It was quiet, convenient and restful. The surrounding Sonoran desert is beautiful and full of birds and wildlife. The hospitality and accommodations were excellent and of exceptionally high quality. Drive slowly on the mile of wash-boarded road. We plan to return next year.

Fantastic Vacation Experience
February 2, 2011
The 7 days spent at this more than comfortable Santa Fe estate with our hostess was the most memorable and enjoyable vacation experience we've had in years! It lives up to every aspect of the advertisement and provides mountain views that are incredible. The night sky displays so many stars it looks like diamonds spread on black velvet and the winter milky way is distinctly visible. Furnishings were very comfortable, the hostess most gracious and very interesting and the surroundings were true desert with road runners, deer, hawks and coyotes howling after sunset. Separate living quarters with bath, exercise equipment and screened in sun porch provide all the privacy you could ask for in this type of setting and everything was clean and well maintained. For those wanting a true experience in the Sonora Desert in an elegant Santa Fe style home, this will definitely provide the experience. We relaxed, hiked, went to nearby Madeira Canyon and Green Valley for shopping and had internet connectivity and cell phone reception the entire time so we could stay in touch with the family back home. Finally, we must say the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets set off the entire experience as an unexpected bonus! Great time, great week, we'll go back!
In January 2013 A lady from Nova Scotia rented 90 days, was delighted we become closed friends.,
Often reservations are made by phone directly to owners, in that case review cannot be posted. In March two ladies rented for one full month breakfast included, they were delighted. I expect to see both back they have still to decide if they want to be in Arizona or Mexico.
