Description from owner

COME AND ENJOY THE WHALE MIGRATION. Fresh crab, salmon & the wine country as well the Redwoods.

Located on the beautiful Sonoma-Mendocino coast, SeaWatch provides comfort, relaxation and retreat. Enjoy it for family vacations, or a romantic get-a-way for two. A BOTTLE OF WINE is there to welcome you.

Sea Watch is a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom townhouse located in Gualala. It is furnished in a marine-nautical theme. This home sleeps 4 w/ room for 1-2 more people, children and some pets are welcome.

Enjoy hiking in Redwood forests, strolling rugged beaches, tide pooling, wine tasting, fishing, local events in art and music, great golf, bicycling, whale watching, kite flying, kayaking, abalone diving, tennis, swimming, and so much more.

The rental includes all linens. Most rooms and decks enjoy spectacular broad views of the ocean as it meets the sandy beach at Gualala Point. Open a window and listen to the surf!

The living room is very inviting, with a vaulted ceiling, gas fireplace, and lots of seating. The dining area shares the same great setting. Sea Watch also offers a washer and dryer, and a single-car attached garage.

Stroll to the Cypress Village and explore what it has to offer:

A variety of gift shops and art galleries; Cafe LaLa (espresso drinks, etc.); Cypress Bar & Grill (full menu plus bar); a massage center; and Physical Gym which allows drop-in use for a small fee. Indulge yourself at famous gourmet restaurants such as Pangaea, and St. Orres or sunset dining at Top of the Cliff or Meza Grill. Also great barbecue and a game of pool at Bones Roadhouse. The charming towncenter of Gualala is also easy to walk to and has just about everything one could want...we are just waiting for you! The famous Gualala Art Center is nearby.

The master suite has a queen bed, its own TV with DirecTV hookup, and a lovely Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, plus ocean views. The second bedroom has two twin beds and bathroom with a stall shower. Beds: 1 Queen Bed, 2 Twin Beds

About the area

Gualala is the village just north of world famous Sea Ranch on the California North Coast. It is on the Gualala River, the border between Mendocino and Sonoma Counties. Known as the Banana Belt of the coast due to unique wind/weather patterns that bring less fog and overcast and more sun to this area both summer and winter. Whale watch, kayak, beach comb, hike, art gallery browse, view sunsets, fish, wine taste, view wildlife, visit the Redwoods, relax by the fire and enjoy SeaWatch's view. Gualala is just far enough away from "civilization" to be relaxing, romantic and peaceful, but not too far from San Francisco for a long weekend "vacation". Come and take in the seascape from SeaWatch.

“Gualala - perfect vacation area”

Reviewed 21 May 2016

Found the townhouse to be as advertised. We found the home to be in a perfect location to enjoy the parks, trails and the awesome coastline views. And, yes we saw the whales. The townhouse was furnished so comfortable and cozy. The owner even followed up during our stay to ensure all was well.

“Perfect Getaway”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2016

This town home is nicely furnished and appointed with a good ocean view from the deck, kitchen, dining and living rooms. The view is across Hwy 1 and over roof tops, but clearly sees a stretch of beach with breaking waves and the rocky Gualala Point. The surf is clearly heard at night -very enjoyable. The little town of Gualala has good restaurant choices and two large markets. There's a lot of local sites and activities to choose from. A great Califonia north-coast location. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Owner's reply: Thank you, Stephan. Glad you enjoyed what we do at SeaWatch. Gary & Judy

“New year rejuvenation w/ocean view”

Beautiful place, great location, comfortable furnitures, ocean view and amazing hospitality! If you want to unplug yourself from digital life, the best way to do is - gather friends, drive away from the city, and spend time watching ocean! And one more thing, Gary's movie collection is wonderful!

Owner's reply: Thank you Anand, glad your group enjoyed themselves. Gary

“Unexpected Find”

I was totally surprised at how spacious and beautifully appointed the condo was! The location in Gualala was outstanding with 2 excellent eateries right across the street! The view of the beach was great!

Owner's reply: Enjoy Bones Roadhouse Barbecue and Trinks Bakery/Cafe within walking distance of SeaWatch. Thanks Dennis

“Very nice town home, reasonable cost”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2013

This townhouse was amazing! It is very obvious that there is so much love invested into this home by the owners. When first entering, the place smells fresh, visibly very clean and well cared for. The nautical "sea shore" type decor is in every room, down to the finest of detail. So much thought has been put in all the things that make it home away from home. I enjoy cooking and the kitchen had every item anyone could possibly need to cook, and then some, better than my own kitchen! The views were beautiful, and the binoculars were used frequently as I watched the ocean for seals, etc. We spent most of our days going to different beaches, at Point Gualala, schooner beach, bowling ball beach and others. The only restaurant we went to was Mariachi's, which was fabulous. Overall, the home was very comfortable and well attended to. If I had to comment on any negative side of this property it would be this: It is right on Highway 1 which has a considerable amount of traffic noise. One of the days, Cal Trans was right in front and was extremely noisy, which was really no big deal, we just went to the beach! As I said previously, this is the only negative aspect, and I knew this potential issue before even arriving. Noise decreased substantially at nite for comfortable sleep lulled by the sounds of the waves breaking on the beach. Great place to stay!

Owner's reply: We're happy so many of our guests enjoy Gualala and SeaWatch as much as we do. We'v taken care to make it comfortable and completely furnished.

“The Perfect North Coast Getaway”

Reviewed 13 Mar 2013

The home is absolutely charming, comfortable, and peaceful in this tranquil coast side setting convenient to any past-time...be it beachcoming, kayaking, hiking, shopping, reading, eating, or just relaxing and retreating. The only downside is that we didn't stay longer. The home is well maintained and loved, and the owner was very attentive prior to our visit to make sure all of our expectations were met.

“Perfect fit”

Reviewed 8 Nov 2011

We spent a weekend in Gualala and were undecided whether to go with a rental or a hotel room for the two of us and our dog. The rates were comparable, but the condo had far more comfort and room to stretch. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: We're glad you enjoyed SeaWatch.

“A Nice Stay”

Reviewed 2 Jan 2011

We spent our Christmas in Gualala. It was good to not be at home during this holiday and that was our objective of this trip. The weather was stormy most of the time we were there but that did not interfere with our time spent there. (we knew it was a high possibility for weather at this time of year). The view of the ocean was beautiful and served as a balm for our aching hearts. The accomodations of the townhouse were roomy, clean and quite comfortable, with easy access to shops and other sites for visiting. It was centrally located for family members to be able to come & go as they were able around their different schedules which served us all well. It was a good getaway and provided a time of rest and relaxation and escape from the busy traditional holiday season that we were interested in avoiding this year due to a very painful loss.

Owner's reply: We're very glad you found the stay with your loved ones healing and relaxing. Gary & Judy

Owner Supplied Testimonials

We loved our stay at SeaWatch and look forward to a return visit. The owners have spared nothing in making this a most comfortable, beautiful place to relax and from which to explore Gualala and surrounding area. It felt more like staying in a good friend's home than a rental. The photos and description were accurate, though it was even nicer than we'd anticipated. The location was perfect- just a short stroll to coffee shops, great little bookstore, grocery stores with all you could need. While there we enjoyed: the great views from SeaWatch, the beach at Gualala Pt, the lighthouse at Pt Arena... It was windy during our stay, so we didn't canoe on the river, but will next time. Most highly recommended! Thank you, SeaWatch!

"Dear Gary, We very much enjoyed our stay at Sea Watch. Everything was very nice and it was great to be able to walk to everywhere in the village. The only thing I would change would be to slow down the clocks and calender, it seemed that we were just settling in and it was time to leave. Thanks Again. Sincerely yours, Chip " - Chip M., , 11/12/2009

"I saw the place online and my wife and I hadn't been to Gualala since our first weekend away 7 years ago. The place was fantastic, and we felt that we could relax immediately. We played golf at Sea Ranch the first day, and spent the next day walking on the Beach and the next day was just an inside day, opening presents, watching music videos, dancing, and more than all the comforts of home. A completely wonderful weekend!!" - starvin, Clearlake, CA, 11/03/2009

The SeaWatch is conveniently located in the town of Gualala within walking distances to local shops and restaurants, and grocery stores. The townhouse was clean, cozy, and well organized. We appreciated the labels to help locate items. We used the bbq to grill steaks, and found everything we needed in the kitchen. Great ocean view. A plus for us was that we could bring our two small well behaved dogs.

Great communication before the trip to make sure everything was clear. The house itself was clean and had everything we needed for a great Labor Day weekend away. We especially enjoyed sitting on the deck with our morning coffee and evening wine and relaxing by the fire. Our son liked the ping pong table and board games. It was easy to walk to cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, and the lovely Gualala Bluff trail. Our golden retriever seemed very comfortable in the house, and there was a good spot just up the hill to take him on walks. The area is just gorgeous. We loved Cook's Beach, a nice place for kids with a calm lagoon to play in. We also marveled in the ruggedness of the Stornetta Public Lands in Point Arena, just a 30-minute drive from the house. We would stay here again.
