Before anything else, here is a big tip that will make your vacation plans a lot easier: reserve your vacation rental before you book your flight because air tickets are much easier to find than places to stay on Maui.
ABOUT THE STUDIO AND PROPERTY
Our private and clean 600sf studio nests in our quiet, peaceful land named Mana Aina that means the power of the earth in Hawaiian language. Mana Aina sits on a privileged spot in beautiful Haiku, enjoying the purest oxygen that comes from Hana wrapping around the national tropical forest that sits on the side of the Haleakala [dormant volcano]. The views from the studio go into and beyond our 12 acre hobby fruit farm and matured park.
Our studio is clean and well taken care of so you may enjoy a wonderful stay. The rental is made of bricks and painted stucco walls, tile floors, and high beam ceilings. As soon as you open the sliding doors, you are standing on a 12 acre park covered by a lush landscape with ornamental trees, tropical plants, seasonal fruit trees and flowers.
Our fruit season is during the summer months, there is no fruit during the winter months. Please keep in mind that we have a small orchard and sell our fruit, so if we are having a fairly good fruit year and we happen to have enough to sell to the grocery stores and restaurants, we are happy to occasionally gift some fruit sampling to our guests. If you wish to purchase fruit from our orchard, I'll be happy to show you what we have available.
To tell you a bit more about the property, on the ocean side of Mana Aina there is a 50 acre forest. On the East side we have a big gulch with a seasonal water stream coming down from the Haleakala's rain forest which goes all the way down into the ocean where Jaws located [one of largest surfing/windsurfing waves in the world]. On the Haleakala side we have another 50 acre property as quiet as ours. On the West Maui Mountains side we have East Kuiaha Road which is a very quiet road.
DETAILS ABOUT THE STUDIO
The studio has a queen size bed and a full size futon couch/bed, and we may add more beds if needed.
We have a child's highchair and crib available.
We provide linens and towels.
The dining table sits 4 people.
The full bathroom is private and enclosed; it has a large tub/shower for you to take comfortable baths, 1 toilet, 1 bidet, 1 sink, and we provide 2 rolls of toilet paper.
The studio has a full kitchen.
There is a phone in the studio available for local calls.
For internet access [wifi] use the code that is located underneath the modem, but please keep in mind that the internet is not the fastest.
There is a laundry room available for guests.
Please feel free to enjoy walking and jogging around the property.
There is a parking area where you may park up to 2 cars, but if you have a 3rd car please let us know and we'll let you know where you may park it.
Although our property is very secluded and quiet, just 6 minutes away you will find some nice restaurants and shopping for groceries as well. If you enjoy organic and healthy foods, Mana Foods (our local grocery store in Paia) is just a short 10 minutes drive from here as well as the beach and a number of activities/adventures. The closest place where you may enjoy a yummy casual breakfast or lunch is at the Pauwela Cannery, a surfers' and windsurfers' favorite. The Haiku Cannery does have more eating out options than the Pauwela Cannery, but it is 3 minutes further away. At the Haiku Cannery I very much enjoy the sushi at Nuka and the amazing burgers, pizza, pasta, salads and cold beer at Colleen's Restaurant. Around the corner from Nuka there is Maui Kombucha Bar, don't miss it! There is also Veg Out for vegetarians across from Nuka. By the way, all these places are right next to the Haiku Post Office. There are also some more restaurants in this area and many good options to explore, but before I'm finished, I want to mention the Taco Truck and Tai wagon restaurant!
If you are staying with us during wave season, you may want to visit Jaws to see tow surfing and windsurfing pushed to the extremes on some of the biggest rideable waves on the planet. Just drive straight down from our place towards the ocean, but make sure you are on a 4 wheel drive vehicle, especially if muddy conditions!
If you enjoy hiking through amazing and unique places, you might want to visit the Makawao Forest; just a beautiful 20 min drive from here. Also, if you are feeling adventurous, on the way to the Makawao forest a fun place to go is the Piiholo Ranch Zipline. On the way down from the forest you may want to stop at Makawao Town to check out some locally owned stores or for a bite to eat. By the way, I love the sandwiches at Casanovas in Makawao. There are some small art galleries there too if you happen enjoy painters who portray Maui's landscapes.
Downhill from Makawao is Paia, a cool place patched with boutiques, restaurants and my favorite health food store Mana Foods. I would highly encourage shopping for groceries at Mana Foods, once you go there you'll see what I mean. The beach is also right in front of Paia and if you are up to a long walk on the beach, start right there and walk or swim towards Kahului; pass the rocks and coves and keep walking... also great for a jog or run.
If you want to check out some great streams and pools, Iao Valley is your spot hands down. This area is also known for it's amazing hikes. It is above Old Wailuku. This is a personal favorite and place where I like to take friends while they are visiting Maui.
There are so many great things to do and nearby places to visit from our property, like the Haleakala [volcano], Poli Poli, Kula, Twin Falls, including some secret spots like Commando Hike, I could go on and on. With that said, we hope you will get to enjoy staying at our property as we look forward to meeting you and talking about some of the beautiful places to explore and visit on Maui.

We booked this studio because we've been there at our last trip on Maui. E- mailing with the owner Alejandro was very sympa. Mana Aina is a very peaceful and gorgeous place on earth. We had such a good time with our family! Our memories gonna last forever! We hope to come back soon! Your place was just perfect, quiet with fresh air all around. It was a good starting place for all our trips we made around the island. Mahalo for sharing your paradise with us. We wish other people the same experience we had...Have fun and a lot of Aloha spirit!!!
My husband and I stayed 3 days in this studio and it was the perfect answer to our need for comfort, rest, and relaxation. Located just four miles from my daughter's home in Haiku, we were able to visit her and her family and not need to take their bed! We brought our grand daughter with us one night and had the perfect grand parent's "sleep over". The studio was so much larger and nicer than we expected, we were pleasantly surprised at the affordable cost for that area. It's on such beautiful property that we felt we were miles and miles away for all business etc. and yet we were within minutes of every convenience. We would definitely stay there again if ever able to visit our family again in the beautiful land of Maui!
I booked these studios over the net, very easy and no hassle. The owner, Alejandro was super cool and accommodating for all our needs and answering all my emailed questions!! The studio location is perfect for the North Shore, close enough for everywhere only a 5 min drive from anywhere. Follow the instructions and it's easy to find. They are in a safe private secluded garden paradise. The accomadation had all the creature comforts of home and is clean and well appointed in all aspects. We had a fantastic two week stay and would not hesitate in recommending it, great for a family, couple or a single person. Will I be retuning? Most definitely!! Thank you Alejandro
we have a fantastic stay in alejandros place, really calm and quiet, and in perfect location to enjoy haiku lifestyle. enjoy it
