Description of the Haleiwa vacation home rental
The Waialua Honu Hale House is located on a scenic sandy beach and on a quiet cul-de-sac. A five minute drive into Haleiwa lets you enjoy restaurants, shopping, and adventures; not to mention this quaint town is the surfing capitol of the world.

The home is finished with wood and slate flooring throughout, a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances.

Our Waialua rental home is located on the North Shore on the island of Oahu. This is the Hawaii you dream about, just 35 minutes from the Honolulu International Airport, 45 minutes from Pearl Harbor and 45 minutes to the beaches of Waikiki. We recommend a trip to the Old Sugar Mill of Waialua (also known as Island X Hawaii) and try the "natural" shave ice and the delicious coffee they make, Waimea Falls Botanical Garden, Polynesian Cultural Center, Sunset Beach or maybe a horseback ride in Pupukea.

We call this house the Honu (turtle) Hale (home) for when you walk along the beach in the early evening you often see many turtles within the coral reefs eating their dinner.

Suitability: Seniors and children welcome, non-smoking only, pets not allowed.

What an amazing place! Truly perfect for a couple of families wanting to enjoy all the gloriousness of Oahu's North Shore. Our party consisted of two young families (children 4 ,4 ,4 & 7) and a Gramzie babysitter! We packed our days to the brim with activities, ocean, sun, & fun. What a very special home this turned out to be for all of us. Joey Ann really cares about her home & the guests who stay here. We were greeted by JoAnn, the housekeeper, who walked us through everything we needed to know. She even brought the kiddos some toys to play with. What a sweetie! The house was stocked with everything we needed...including water toys for adults & kids. We stopped at Costco for all our food. Any needed items we forgot, we purchased at the Malama Market. I could seriously write a book with all the amazing adventures we had in those 9 days. But I will leave a little for the imagination. FUN TIMES: Waimea Bay Beach Park, Pearl Harbor, Cromwell Beach (sun & snorkel), Hanauma Bay (snorkel), Hukilau Beach (soft sand & boogie boarding), Diamond Head, Turtle Bay Resort, Waikiki. IMPORTANT NOTE - Make sure to pay close attention regarding the alarm when you leave for your outings. Close ALL windows & make good use of the safe. We learned the hard way when we carelessly left a window open and someone nabbed a couple of backpacks. Thank goodness the alarm scarred him away & he didn't get anything valuable. Joey Ann was really supportive & caring through the whole ordeal. We all agreed that when we come back to Oahu...we will DEFINITELY be staying at the Turtle House!

Aloha from Wisconsin. Awesome home, felt a part of it from the moment we stepped into the house and everything we needed (minus the food of course but Malama Market has what you need) was provided. The house accommodates 8 adults very easily and is nicely furnished. This was a trip celebrating our 50th Anniversary with our family, son and wife and 4 young adults. We arrived very late in the evening and were greeted by JoAnn who graciously walked us through all the important details. She never made us feel like she was anxious to get home given the late hour and gave us directions to get some food at the local McDonalds. Thank you for that especially after traveling for 18 hours. Just a note, make sure you follow Joey's directions about closing windows & doors and setting the alarm every time you leave. We had just left the house about 20 min. with everything locked and alarmed when we got a call from Joey about the alarm going off. Apparently someone tried opening the sliding patio door, luckily everything was locked up and alarmed. Joey is an absolute joy to work with, putting up with my countless emails and questions but graciously gave me the information I was looking for, just wish I could have met her maybe next time. The North Shore is a perfect place to enjoy the true island experience, the locals are great to talk with. We went to Pearl Harbor 'twice' per request of the young adults, took a bus tour of Honolulu as part of one day at Pearl Harbor, walked Diamond Head, got to experience the 40 ft. waves from afar visiting the surfing pipelines, traveled the entire North and Eastern shore, toured the Kualoa Ranch, took a train ride at the Dole Plantation to see how pineapples grow, went to a Luau at Paradise Cove, spent several days in the town of Haleiwa (as requested by the young adults) and just hanging at the house and beach. My son grilled out one day, thanks for having a grill available. If you don't feel like cooking the food trucks have a lot to choose from. It was so relaxing and enjoyable with many memories to last a lifetime. Some of the comments from our group - "wonderful time with many memories", "one of my favorite places", "loved the beach time", "falling asleep to the ocean is amazing", "wonderful experience" ! Mahalo, Joey, for sharing your home and island with us, making our 50th Anniversary celebration full of fantastic memories! I highly recommend this home to anyone.

Owner response: In regards to that sliding glass door I later found out it was the sensor that was malfunctioning because it happened a few other times. The alarm rep told me that the salt air had corroded it and we had it replaced after these guests left. No problems after that.

Our family traveled back in time to when we left Oahu 20 years ago and our grand kids enjoyed the beauty and excitement of Hawaii. Our accommodations were excellent for four adults and two children. The beach frontage is awesome and kids will definitely enjoy boogy boarding and playing in the surf. It was what my son-in-law said he dreamed a Hawaii vacation could be like specially waking up to the sound of the surf in the morning. Everyone was very helpful. Easy to access the North Shore shopping and actually we found we could get to a lot of locations within a reasonable drive time. Will try to return!

This was the first time for us to take our kids to Hawaii. (We've only been one other time.) We were so excited to share all the wonderful things about Hawaii that we fell in love with during our first visit. I spent hours searching through rental homes in different areas hoping that we would find the perfect home for us. As it turns out, we did! We drove up to the house and received a warm "Aloha" welcome, and as we settled our party of 7 in, it felt like we had come home. The first day there my kids were in the water, enjoying the evening with a couple of turtles that decided to chill by our part of the beach. Every day there were turtles that stopped by! The last evening we were able to do some body surfing, there was a huge turtle that stayed to play in the waves with us. I've never seen a turtle riding the waves before, except in "Finding Nemo" but somehow I don't think that counts. ;) I wish we could have caught that on camera! We had plenty of activities planned for our week and were worried about the drive time to get to them. It wasn't too bad. We could get to anywhere on the island in a reasonable amount of time. Our favorite was the Polynesian Cultural Center, which was only a short drive away. We also enjoyed shopping in old, downtown Hale'iwa and meeting some of the locals. Everyone was super friendly and fun to talk with! I would highly recommend the Honu Hale for anyone looking for a more peaceful and quiet experience, but still right on the beach! Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us!

When we walked into the house for the first time, we all knew we were in the right place for our week-long vacation on Oahu. The phenomenal view when you look out from the living room is just amazing - and it's hard to believe that you're actually staying in paradise until you start to relax and enjoy it. We were given a warm, friendly welcome and directions to some fun local places. The house is very well-appointed and comfortable - the kitchen had everything we needed for coffee & smoothies in the morning, to fixing a stay-at-home dinner. The bedrooms were comfortable and roomy enough to not feel crowded; having a washer & dryer was just a great amenity and proved helpful in keeping the beach towels refreshed. The layout of the house kept us from feeling crowded and it's cheerful decor matched the fun & sunny days we experienced there. We used every lawn chair & lounger each day, enjoyed sunset meals on the patio and simply got spoiled by the proximity to the beach & ocean - literally 15 steps from the backyard. Having the outdoor shower to rinse and 'de-sand' was so helpful, too. I would not hesitate to book this house again - it's the perfect home base if you want to have your downtime and relax and it's also close to some cool places to enjoy. We loved the Waialua Farmer's Market & Haleiwa for exploring locally. Mahalo for the wonderful vacation we had and Aloha until we return to this lovely slice of paradise.

No matter where you stay on the island, you’ll have to drive to see all the sites. So if you have to drive anyway, this home is in the perfect location - especially on the days you choose to just relax in the yard, listening to the waves and watching the turtles. Best spot we found on “our” beach for swimming with the turtles was down the beach to the right, although there were also some right in front of the house. Previous guests had left beach mats, snorkel equipment, beach shoes, “noodles”, and a boogie board, so we had all we needed to enjoy the water. The home is very comfortable, although it can get a bit warm (you can’t have huge windows to give you that magnificent view without some sacrifice!). But most days you’ll be out and about enjoying the sites or in the backyard relaxing. The addition of an air conditioner in the master bedroom was a nice surprise. We turned it on an hour or so before bedtime to cool the room down, then shut it off and opened the windows so that we could fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. The way the house sits on the property, you feel like it’s the only house on the beach! The “locals” who came down to use the beach each day were all very friendly and we enjoyed hearing kids at play. After all, that’s what the beach is for. Lovely spot, and if we ever visit Oahu again, we would be happy to call it “home” during our stay. Mahalo, Joey Ann, for sharing your home with us.

First let me explain that we have had no experience renting a vacation home. After thorough research and consideration of the ratings and feedback, we picked Waialua Honu Hale. The experience exceeded our expectations! The beachfront home provided us the peace, quiet and solitude we desired. JoAnn was in contact with us as soon as our plane landed, confirming our arrangements to meet at the house. After getting us settled she provided us her insight into local beaches, restaurants, "must sees", etc. We were able to use much of her advice. She steered us clear of tourist traps and helped us quickly acclimate to local living. The ocean view from the house is exactly like the pictures. Many afternoons after a busy day sight-seeing we would relax in the chaise lounges, reading our books and soaking in the incredible surroundings. Like many guests before us we enjoyed watching the turtles late in the afternoon. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed to cook and serve our meals. We enjoyed having access to a grill. It was also nice to have the option to eat at the outdoor table. From the reviews we knew the house was not air conditioned, which seems typical for homes on the North Shore. The screened doors and windows along with the fans were more than sufficient for the air flow. We went to the local grocery twice. We also stopped at a Walmart on our way home from Pearl Harbor and were surprised to find the selection there not much different than at home. We appreciated having access to use the washer and dryer during our stay. Joey Ann checked in by phone a few times with us during the stay to make sure all was well. We could not have asked for a more enjoyable stay; we felt completely at home. Mahalo to Joey Ann and JoAnn!

From the moment my family & I arrived at the beautiful Honu Hale home we felt like we were home. My family consisted of 5 people ages, 82, 54, 53, 29, & 28 and we had plenty of room for 5 adults to enjoy our stay. JoAnn, the housekeeper, greeted us upon our arrival. JoAnn provided us with a long list of suggested places to see & things to do. She is a true gem. The house was fully stocked with plenty of bath towels, beach towels, laundry soap, bath soaps, etc., therefore the only items we needed to purchase were the food we would need for the week. The house basically looks as pictured, and the view from the backyard is amazing as you are literally 30 steps from the ocean. The pathway to the beach from the backyard is a little hard to get to for older or very young individuals, however there is a nice pathway on the other side of the house that will lead you to the ocean very nicely. There are plenty of beach chairs, snorkel gear, boogie boards to use for your backyard beach, available in the laundry room for your use. The house is nicely decorated, clean and well kept and listening to the ocean at night as your sleeping is wonderful! We visited the restaurants & did some shopping (including grocery shopping) in Haleiwa which is only a short drive from the home. We also visited Pearl Harbor, and a luau near Honolulu which were all easy to get to from this house. The owner of the home, Joey Ann was wonderful to work with and was always quick to respond to my emails before arriving, as well as my inquiries once arrived. Joey Ann also returned my damage deposit within a week of arriving home. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone inquiring of a great place to stay right on the ocean.

We loved our stay in this beautiful vacation home! We were close to all the wonderful attractions and beaches on the north shore and packed our days full..but nothing beat coming"home" and just relaxing out on the lawn chairs listening to the ocean! We loved the openness of the living room, kitchen and dining area. A couple of the nights we ended up staying home and making dinner, it was so nice having everything we needed right there! We couldn't have had a more enjoyable, relaxing trip! We are all so excited that we have found the perfect place to stay when we come visit again! Mahalo!!

We (6 adults; ages 22-84) stayed at the house in mid-July and the house was amazing. I don't think we could have found anything as nice. The house was exactly as the pictures and description. The lanai was relaxing any time of the day. The backyard and beach were peaceful and the sound of the waves relaxing. The house was within 30 minutes to most locations on the island. The beaches and towns on the North Shore are minutes away offering many different things to do. We stayed for 10 days and the house felt like home. Joey Ann was very easy to work with and I would recommend this house to anyone planning a vacation in Oahu. We all agreed that we would stay at Waialua Honu Hale next time we vacation in Oahu.

My wife and I stayed here with my parents and our 3 month old daughter and we could not have been happier with our accommodations. The house itself is just as described and shown in the photos. The kitchen is spacious and updated and has everything you could possibly need if you wanted a nice dinner in. The bedrooms are nice and spacious but the living room was our favorite room. Beautiful views and the sound of the ocean was amazing. We loved sitting outside in the mornings and having our coffee. The water was crystal clear and we were often the only ones on the beach which was nice. The snorkeling right in front of the house was really good and my wife and I swam with several large sea turtles throughout our stay. The manager JoAnn was even nice enough to loan us some of her gear. It is away from all of the hustle and bustle but a very short drive to Haleiwa which is a great little town with shopping and several great food trucks and restaurants. I would 100% recommend this house to anyone and if we ever return would definitely stay here again. Thanks Joey Ann for being so accommodating and for a great stay!

This beautiful home is just as described, and the pictures are an accurate representation of the house. Such a wonderful, peaceful location; perfect for taking day trips around the island and returning to the house to swim at your own quiet beach. Only twice during our 6 night stay, were there any more than 4 other people on the beach, and one of those days was Memorial Day, when there were 6 other people on the beach. We loved waking up early and watching the sunrise from the beach, when the ocean was fairly quiet. We also loved when the wind would blow in, and kick up the waves a bit in the evening.
My son and husband enjoyed snorkeling and saw a giant sea turtle out in the water, just about 10 yards out. Fantastic! And my daughter and I loved hanging out in the yard or in the house, reading in the breeze when we weren't in a swimming mood. So relaxing! And each one of us was able to vacation in our own way.
Joey Ann and Jo Ann were perfect hosts, very responsive about any small issues, and full of good ideas for things to do. We were able to cover a lot of the things that we felt we wouldn't want to miss, as well as get some shopping done in Haleiwa. We enjoyed fixing meals in the kitchen, on those nights that we just didn't feel like going out to a restaurant for dinner, and it was great to be able to take our time in the mornings by having breakfasts right there in the house.
There was plenty of room for the four of us to spread out, and given that the kids are young adults, the price was comparable to what we would have been paying to stay down on Waikiki with all the tourists, traffic, and noise. Well worth the price.
Highly recommend this property! We'd love to return someday!

Great house and Location and wonderfully helpful owner!
Our stay at Honu Hale was really fantastic! The house is a perfect beach house and the main room with the floor to ceiling walls that look onto the beach was the best. Also there is one bedroom that has sliding doors that you can keep open at night and listen to the waves which are only about 15 feet away. The pictures are totally accurate. The house was clean, beds were comfortable, all of the appliances worked and there was lots of cutlery and pots for cooking and eating in. The house is really on the beach- about 10 steps away and the grassy yard is great for sunbathing too with lots of lawnchairs and sunshine. The beach is sandy and the water is good for swimming (especially if you walk left on the beach for about 50 feet). The beach is also quite long for a good walk and the roads around the house are quiet and nice for running. Although not promised, there were extra boogie boards, skim boards and portable chairs to take to the beach (and a cooler). The town is close, about a 5 minute drive and there is a bike lane that takes you almost the whole way there. There is a real community and neighbourhood feel around the house and in the town. The area is quiet but people are upbeat and fun. One of the best parts of the experience was the owner of the house, Joey Ann. She was quick to respond to e-mails and phone calls, she is very enthusiastic and positive and goes above and beyond for her guests. For example, about two days before we arrived I e-mailed her to see whether there was an ipod docking station to play music. There wasn't, so she actually went out and bought one the day we arrived so it would have something to play music on all week! We loved it and would certainly go back.

Wow! The house is beautiful. Staying at a home like this let's you experience living in Hawaii. The sound inside the house with the waves so nearby makes you want to never turn on the TV. From the house you can see sunrise and sunset every day. The beach is great with very few visitors. Nearby Haleiwa is a great town to eat, shop and pick up groceries. Highly recommend staying here. We plan on returning.

Great place to vacation !!!
Our party of 8 was more than comfortable in this house. 2 Grandmas 2 teenagers 2 kids, my husband and I. The house has no air conditioning but we didn't miss it (and we love our A/C in Houston, TX). Fans in every room and there is a lot of breeze circulating in the house.
Kitchen has everything you may need to cook all your meals. We only ate out 2 times during our week stay.
Haliewa is only minutes away. Waimea Bay (our favorite beach) is about 10 minutes away. Honolulu is about an hour away but we loved being able to visit the city area and be able to come back to the house and leave all the noise and traffic behind.
After a very nice week in Maui the second week of our vacation in Oahu was even better. Had a great time here and enjoyed every corner of this house! Great communication with the owner.
Thank you Joey Ann!!!!

Wonderful trip
This is a an excellent property to explore the North Shore and make new memories. The home has a real welcoming feel and the view was spectacular. Just hearing the ocean along with the birds made it such a unique experience. The living room was a nice gathering spot for our family. The windows in that room let in natural light and allowed a consistent breeze. The patio overlooking the ocean was a great spot to have a family barbecue. I really liked that the location was fairly secluded but yet so close to Haliewa and all of the great beaches.
Joey Ann was wonderful to work with. She provided answers to all of my questions and was very accommodating. As this was my first experience with a vacation rental, she made the process very easy. I really enjoyed my time there and wished I could have stayed longer!

Close to everything but far enough away not to hear it
Joey, sorry it has tsken me so long to write this review, I got back to Texas and had to have some emergancy sergery, then had to get things back in order at the company. But all is well and back in the saddle and had some time to reflect on our stay at your Waialua Honu Hale - Spectacular Beachfront Home. This is truley a spectacular home and location, it is at the end of a road and at a beach front entrance, the home is truly on the beach, all that one needs to relax, get some sun, get in some swimming, snorckling, back yard BBQ-ing, are right here, you need nothing but your swim suit, sight seeing clothes, personals and food, all else is provided. The house is layed out perfect for three couples or a large family, we never got in each others way nor did we have problems having our own private time to ourselves. We spent most of our time on the back lawn or in the water, the neighbors were great, we had lunch with them on the beach and enjoyed just mingling with the locals. We all enjoyed snorkeling in the water right in front of the house. There is plenty of room to have three vehicles and be off the road, also this location is in a great place to get anywhere you want to go as quickly as Hawaiian traffic will allow. Yes as people have indicated, there is no air conditioning, but you don't come to Hawaii to sit inside and enjoy the room, you come to enjoy the beautiful climate and outdoors and this house is smack dab in paradise. My wife and I are sticklers for cleanliness and this house did not disappoint, we found no issues that would cause us to think otherwise, everything was as it should be for a island home, with ventilation open to the elements. I would also like to say that working with Joey was as if we had been friends for ever, never once was she to busy to help in any way, my wife and I must make plans a year early and Joey was most accommodating to the terms necessary to make this happen, when there she was always available if needed, great host. If and when we ever return to the islands, with family or friends, this will be our location to stay. Thanks Joey for a great memorable week at your home.

Perfect Holiday getaway
We looked at many homes on Oahu before finding this gem on the North Shore! Once we saw the pictures we knew our search was over. This home was perfect for the 8 of us that stayed during Christmas. I will definitely bring my family back to this house! The water is literally right in front of you. We were constantly relaxing on the chaise lounge and chairs outside enjoying the view as well as swimming right out our front door. The kids had a blast boogie boarding and building sand castles. Right before sunset daily the turtles start feeding directly in front of the house, you can see them so clearly.

The decor is perfect with that Hawaiian touch and not overdone. The kitchen is well-stocked with all you need. The bed linens are lovely and incredibly comfortable. The whole house was great, and we instantly felt right at home.

The location is fantastic! A short drive from the airport when you land, and instantly out of the way of all the tourists in Honolulu and Waikiki. There was so many things to do on the North Shore, surfing, waterfalls, beach going, shopping, and just general relaxing. Haleiwa is a wonderful little town with everything you will need for your stay, approximately 5 minute drive to the grocery store.

I will echo almost every other review on the site when I say my family and I loved this house. We definitely recommend this vacation home. It's so nice to have ample room to spread out and the freedom to cook your own food instead of being forced to eat at restaurants all the time as hotels require. What we liked best is that the house is so spacious and relaxing. You can't beat the location and view.

Family rental success!
We spent 11 days in January at Waialua Honu Hale and were so sad that our vacation had to come to an end. We were a group of 11 (8 adults and 3 kids from 1-3yrs old), and the house was perfect. We cooked most of our meals at home, and treated ourselves to a few dinners at the local food trucks and many restaurants in the area. The location was ideal - just 5 minutes from town, not near a loud road, and right on the water - and we loved the patch of grass right out front for the kids to play on! The lawn had great shade for the babies, and some sun for most of the day, which was great for Mama's tan!

There wasn't a bathtub, but that was easily solved with the purchase of a large plastic Rubbermaid bin that the kids bathed in (which we left, so you probably can still use it!). The bin also served as a fun tub for playing with water outside on the lawn, and an easy transporter for beach stuff that helped to keep the vans sand-free. Previous guests had left a cooler, snorkel gear, some basic food items (olive oil, salt & pepper, ketchup etc...) and laundry soap, so we returned the favour and left our extras. The kitchen was well-stocked, and there was a problem with the stove when we were there, but they fixed it immediately - we really appreciated the prompt response - they really cared about us being comfortable!

Joey, thanks for giving us the info on local hikes and must-sees on the Island. Also, Joanne, the woman who cleans the house was amazingly friendly and gave us some great tips about local things to do. She also dropped off a vacuum part way through our stay, as we wanted to do a quick clean-up of the sand. It was really appreciated!

The house really felt like a home-away-from-home, and we had a fantastic time. This location is perfect for a family or a small group that wants to be out of the craziness of Honolulu/Waikiki. The house is only a 45mins/1hr-ish drive from pretty much anywhere on the Island, including Hanauma Bay, Pearl Harbour, the cultural centre etc... The Bonzai pipeline, Dole plantation, sugar factory, shark cove (excellent snorkeling) shops at Hale Iwa and many many other attractions are within 5-15 minutes from the house. Seriously, we couldn't have picked a better location!

Thanks again for an amazing visit to your Island. We were last in Kauai as a family exactly 30 years ago, hopefully it won't be another 30 years before we're back to Hawaii again!

Great place for a family reunion!
I loved Waialua Beach House! It was just right for a group of 8, ages 80 years (that's me) to 12 years. The sunroom was very comfortable with its couches and chairs; it provided ample space to visit, play games/devices, work on puzzles, snack to our heart's content - or just relax. I enjoyed the art work throughout the house. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for eating, baking, cooking. I did find the 6 inch step-down from sun room to kitchen a bit troublesome, but then I am 80 with a few balance problems!

The views front and back were wonderful; the front with the lovely tropical plants; the back with the sandy beach and the ocean! Access to the beach was easy, though I could have used my walking stick to a good advantage. There were plenty of lawn chairs, recliners, flotation devices for our enjoyment.

Would I go back? In a heart beat - YES!

Amazing Home in Paradise!
First off, the Owner Joey Ann is top notch - from the first time I contacted her to enquire, until a few days after our stay and promptly received our deposit back. You will not find an easier person to deal with.
We were two families, consisting of 4 adults and 5 kids. The house suited our needs perfectly and with the open concept of the kitchen, dining room, and living room felt very spacious. It is well decorated and basically has everything you need. The large glass windows that surround the living room give you full view of the ocean and is an amazing place to relax. There is a nice grass backyard to relax in, or you are basically one step onto the beautiful beach front that is in front of this house. There is 4 nice lounge chairs, and 4 high back chairs to use in the backyard or take down to the beach. And a great patio with more chairs, and a BBQ to enjoy meals outside if you wanted. The house has excellent parking, with a carport on each side of the front of the house you can easily come and go (parking is usually very tight in Hawaii). For anyone with teenagers - the house has excellent WIFI, with good signal on the grass outside, and usually on the beach right in front of the house as well.
When staying in a home like this, you really get huge enjoyment out of being at the house, cooking your own meals, and spending time on the beach with all the amenities of the house right at your fingertips. There are constant turtle sightings in the water directly behind the house, which never gets boring to watch!
We were frequent visitors to Haleiwa to pick up snacks (Waialua Bakery!), lunch or have a few dinners out. We were beginner surfers, and really enjoyed Puaena Point Beach Park which was safe and a leisurely 5 min drive away.
I would 100% recommend this home to anyone. Mahalo to Joey Ann for allowing us the opportunity to stay and have an amazing vacation, hope to be back soon!

Northshore Gem
We rented this beautiful house right on the beach with another family. There were 7 of us. Pictures are just as shown. We loved it from the moment we walked in. Lots of seating inside and out. We spent most of our days outside on the beach, watching the turtles in the water. Loved hearing the crashing of the waves every night. Beds and bedding are very comfortable, overhead fans in all rooms plus floor fans. The views out of the living room are amazing. Quiet neighborhood. Joey was great to work with and her daughter meet us upon arrival and gave us on the "local" information. We did a quad tour at Kualoa ranch, went snorkeling at sharks cove, body surfing at Waimea Beach, we hiked to waimea falls, went snorkeling at laniakea beach where all the turtles come to shore every day, the boys went deep sea fishing....all of this is so close to the house. We really wanted to rent a house away from the rat race of Waikiki, as we have been there and done that...not our thing...we were so happy with our decision. Waikiki is a short drive away if you wish to go there. We felt like a local, people were asking us for directions...everyone is so friendly. The closest town, Haleiwa, is a short drive away...we loved it there, so cute, great places to eat. We headed south to where road ends and hiked to light house...so much to do or nothing at all....just like we liked it. I would highly recommend this house, we will rent it again.

Excellent Experience!
What you see is what you get. The photos and description were right on. This is a real North Shore beach house. One great feature was the main room with its big windows and comfy seating. Another best feature was the grassy yard. Very easy on bare feet. Good outdoor furniture. Private. Shade and sun. We were 7 adults. Fit very well in the house. Good parking for our two rental cars. Lack of air conditioning was a non-issue. Easy to cool off with fans and open windows. And best of all was location. On the beach. 5 minutes from Haleiwa. We got a good personal orientation from the owners rep. Helpful. Good washer and dryer on site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What's the weather like?
A: Weather changes all the time but average temperature year round is 80 degrees. Always best to research "Waialua weather" and that will give you the best idea!
Q: Where is the best place to get shave ice?
A: My favorite place that I take all my personal guests is to Island X Hawaii. It's the old sugar mill in Waialua. You have to order the "natural" shave ice flavors. It's more expensive and so worth it because it's not the syrup kind. Most famous place to get shave ice is Matsumoto's.
Q: What are some must-do's on the island? Best hike?
A: There are literally hundreds of things to do on the island. Best to research "101 Things to do on Oahu" and pick what sounds interesting to you. Everyone has different interests so it's hard to tell guests what they should do. If you're a history buff then going to Pearl Harbor/Arizonia Memorial is a must, but it could be very boring for some. Also Iolani Palace and Bishop Museum are great. For those more adventurous doing Shark Dive can be fun. I (owner) personally love the Polynesian Cultural Center but it's super touristy and very cheesy at times but I take all my guests there. Tropical Farms (Macadamia Nut Farm) in Kaaawa is a little gem. Dole Plantation is great place for kids because of the maze and the train. I do not recommend Sea Life Park unless you are doing the Chief's Luau which is separate from the park but it's held at the park. Hiking is all over the island but since everyone has different skill level it's best to ask me directly so we can discuss your experience. Based on your experience I can recommend ones that can be a fit for you.
