Carmelita By the Lake; is a boutique style, 6 bedroom, 4 full bath cottage rental. Across from the property is Maple Lake, part of a three (3) chain lake in the heart of Haliburton Highland, Ontario. Maple Lake is perhaps the prettiest lake in the region and the safest swimming lake for kids in the Haliburton Highlands. Our dock area can accommodate your boat and your float plane.

Carmelita By the Lake is 2.5 hours north of Toronto, 4 hours from Ottawa, 45 minutes to Huntsville, Bracebridge and Muskoka. Dorset and Minden is even closer. We guarantee this is the finest cottage rental to be found in the area. Our cottage rental cost each individual based on 12, a rate of $41.00 per day. Where in the region can you find this calibre of a property at this price point.

We are located close to many attractions such as Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve, Haliburton Forest Wolf Centre, Walking on a Cloud Canopy Tour, Sir Sam's ski hill, Dorset Lookout and world reknown Algonquin Park. Haliburton is known for our large artist community with many artist studios, hiking and snowmobile trails and a winery, Moon Shadows Estate Winery. We also have an airport, Stanhope airport nearby for our pilot guests(Haliburton/Stanhope Municipal Airport is located near the more populated south-central area of Haliburton-5K from Carmelita By the Lake).

Our 6 rooms consist of three (3) queen beds, 2 double and one room with two twin beds. Two rooms have TV, DVD, and fireplace. Each rooms comes with CD clock radio. There is a total of three (3) HD satellite TV on the premises.

We have put together a relaxing, comfortable property for the individuals who are looking for quality and who understand that only a certain amount of people can comfortable fit into a space and still keep the high standards required by our guests. We accommodate a maximum of 12 individuals and allow up to 4 children under the age of 18 among the 12. No more than 12 individuals will ever be put in the property.

We provide high speed internet for the individual(s) that needs to be in touch with work or family, or just needs to be connected.

The Guest Lounge is equipped with a large screen HD satellite TV, CD player, Blu-Ray player and a surround sound for everyone's enjoyment and fireplace to cozy up on those chilly nights. Utilize the paddle boat touring Maple Lake or use one of our many bicycles to get to know the neighbourhood.

A well appointed kitchen that includes all the amenities to be found in a fully equipped high end kitchen, including an espresso machine and all the regular items to be found in a fully stocked kitchen. A cooler sits on the back deck (during the summer) with the BBQ and we have picnic baskets should you decide to pack a picnic and explore.

We do not provide linens, pillows, towels, etc. During July and August we only do weekly rentals, Saturday to Saturday.

Haliburton is a county of Ontario, Canada, known as a tourist and cottage area in Southern Ontario for its scenery and for its resident artists. Haliburton County was established in 1983, but had existed as the Provisional County of Haliburton since 1874.

The Haliburton Highlands is home to a thriving arts community. The County is dotted by galleries, both public and private, offering events, programs and workshops to the public. Artists' studios can be found in almost every community, many offering public demonstrations, small galleries, and classes. There are murals and public sculptures in the downtowns of most communities, as well as in park settings. The County is home to the renowned Haliburton Sculpture Forest, a unique outdoor collection of sculptures by Canadian and international artists.

Heritage is also a focus in the County, with established museums in Carnarvon, Dorset, Haliburton, Minden, and Wilberforce, as well as many fledgling museums emerging in some of the smaller communities. As well, the Highlands Summer Festival presents a wide array of theatre offerings throughout the summer, showcasing the talents of local and seasonally local actors and musicians. Numerous indie bands perform throughout the County, with open mic events being held at a number of establishments.

Security Deposit will be refunded if there are no damages or cleaning needed. 50% deposit is required at time of booking if more than 30 days. Full payment is due 30 days before your arrival date. We only accept certified cheque or email money transfer. There are no refund provided for cancellation unless we can rebook your dates. We highly suggest cancellation insurance. We recommend you view the property before booking.

Other Fees: If we have to do any cleaning to the property to have it in the condition we provided it to you or for the next guest coming in after you, your security deposit WILL NOT be refunded. Please ensure you are 100% clear on this.

Q: Can I visit the property before booking?
A: Yes, we strongly encourage a visit to ensure the property meets the needs of you and your familyéfriends.
Q: What is the maximum amount of individuals the property can accommodate?
A: The maximum amount of individuals allowed in the property is 12. Of that 12, 3 can be children under the age of 18. If at anytime we are aware there are more than 12 individuals in the property, you will be immediately asked to leave with no refund.
Q: Do you allow pets.?
A: No, we are a pet free property rental
Q: What happens if the property is not cleaned upon check out?
A: If the property is not cleaned and left in the same manner it was given to you, your security deposit of $500 will not be refunded
Q: What happens if there are damages done upon my check out.?
A: First, we ask you to inform us as soon as something happens. We inspect the property upon your departure and before the next guest. If there are damages, the cost of the damage(s) will be deducted from your $500.00 security deposit. If the damage(s) exceed the $500 and we inform you and you do not pay within 7 days, we will take legal action.
Q: Is smoking allowed.?
A: We would rather to have all renters be non smokers, but smoking is allowed OUTSIDE ONLY and we ask that you put your smoke buds in the containers left in the back, front and along the dock of the property and not thrown about on the grass, driveway or down by the lake.
Q: During July and August do you do nightly rentals?
A: No, during July and August we only do weekly rentals, Saturday to Saturday.
Q: Do you have a minimum night stay?
A: Yes, outside of July and August when we only do weekly rentals, we accept minimum two nights stay except on long weekends when we require a minimum of three nights stay.
