Description of the Hamilton vacation cottage rental
$195.00 for 2 persons: $50.00 per person up to 4 guests total in Cottage. Main House sleeps 2 only:325.00 a night.
Available on the South Shore in Devonshire is the guest cottage, overlooking the fabled coastline, best enjoyed from the turkoise waters of the horizon pool that hangs over the rocks of the shore.Close to the quiet waters of Devonshire Bay (where fresh fish can be purchased from the fisherman on their boats in the late afternoon) Devonshire is an ideal location: about 4 miles from Hamilton with all its shops and cafes.Heading straight up the South Shore Road heading west are all the famous beaches starting with Elbow Beach and going all the way to Church Bay, with Somerset Village and Naval Dockyard lying further down the road.
There are two cottages, only one of which is available at any given time.Occasionlly both units may be available: please inquire if your party numbers 6 persons. The main house cottage is the front of the house, including a master-bedroom and bath, and a kitchen/dining area and formal livingroom overlooking the pool. The second cottage is the renovated bedroom wing of the house: built off to one side of the property (not behind the Main House cottage) the bedroom wing has a main floor bath, bedroom, kitchen and livingroom, with a pretty second bedroom above the livingroom area, overlooking the ocean and an enclosed cobbled courtyard, made private with walls and greenery and a shady tree where you can barbecue, enjoy the stars, the dawn and the views of the ocean. The pool is accessible during daylight hours: in the evening, the owners of the home reserve the use of the pool unless an invitation is extended to guests.
The furnishings of both units are gorgeous: fresh, cool and precisely right for a tropical home on the ocean. The bedrooms are air-conditioned and all linens are supplied: we ask that you bring your own beach towels with you, as house linens must not to go to the beach.
Beds: twins/King on main level; futon sofa in livingroom; queen bed in upstairs bedroom.
The cottage will appeal to visitors who want a quiet respite from daily life: a pool with a view, a hammock in the shade, a dinner table outdoors, flowers in profusion, near amenities but not overwhelmed by them. This cottage is one of many we represent but we like to illustrate this one because of its delicious location and personal comforts. From such a cottage the entire island awaits you: its one bus to Hamilton, another to St.Georges, and an easy changeover to the bus up the South coast west to naval Dockyard. The ferry plies the Great Sound and is a treat you won't want to miss. Schedules and many services are available at our site.

Area Info
Attractions in this area would also include the fine dining and Spa at Ariel Sands Hotel, 5 minutes away by moped, and the Botanical Gardens, with the stately Tucker Residence: an old Bermuda home now used for formal occasions by the Bermuda government.Spittal Pond Nature Reserve in neighboring Smiths Parish is a wonderful walk through a brackish marsh where migrating birds congregate, and where native secies of trees, shrubs and wildflowers can be examined. The rugged coastline is spectacular with the waves crashing into rockpools. Take a picnic and a book and a pillow for a snooze. John Smiths Bay is an exceptional beach often missed by tourists: its another 3 or so minutes by moped from Spittal Pond and features deep soft sand and less turbulent waves. The museum at Verdmont is not to be missed: at the top of Collectors Hill near Sayle Road: the musuem and aquarium buit in 1926 in the little village of Flatts is another delightful meander through history with some really fascinating oceanography displays, marvelous tanks of fish and a small zoo to delight the child in all of us.
Good golf is neaby as well at Ovean View Course. Enjoying a game there will bring you to the much overlooked beauty of the North Shore- take your mopeds and amble up that coast all the way to St.Georges. Its a stunningly beautiful ride- cool blue calm waters, crescents of pink sand, twisted Cedar trees and black rock, handome houses going back centuries. We offer many properties in Bermuda- all privately owned, with no taxes or extra charges. we want you to see the Bermuda we love: the quiet lanes, the secret coves, the magical gardens. Waiting to hear from you then!

The property is very nicely appointed and spacious, with excellent views. The location is very close to the bus stop and the local market. Everyone was very friendly and helped us settle in easily to make for a very relaxing vacation. The only thing to be aware of is that later in the evening the buses are not as frequent to that area.
