Description from owner

Priced for 7, can sleep up to 10 in a pinch, for small extra charge. This charming 1890's farmhouse has 3 bedrooms, one with a back stairway, and two bathrooms, one with a tub, one with a shower. The large eat in farmhouse kitchen is fully equipped all appliances and also has a wood stove to keep you toasty on chilly evenings.

The renovated dining room in the old summer kitchen opens on to a large flower filled deck and large back yard, especially nice for children. The property borders on the Crabtree Neck Land Trust on Hancock Point, which includes apple orchard gardens, and a lovely woods trail open to the public. Bar Harbor is 45 minutes away, Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island, 40 minutes and Acadia National Park at Schoodic Point 25 minutes away. Wi-Fi available.

Beds: 1 Queen Bed, 2 Double Beds, 1 Twin Bed, 1 Crib

About the area

This is a unique place. You can come here to unwind and enjoy nature, but you will not be far away from all the attractions of Bar Harbor and livelier venues. We are situated between Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island and the other less well known, but incredibly beautiful part of Acadia on Schoodic Point at Winter Harbor. This allows visitors to easily spend time in both spots while enjoying an accommodation that is a little lower priced than those in Bar Harbor. The property is also near the Public Reserve Lands at Donnell's Pond, which are as beautiful as Acadia and less well known. If you hike up Schoodic Mountain in the middle of the week and then finish up at the beach on for a swim, you will think you have found heaven on earth and you won't be sharing it with very many people if any. I live on Hancock Point, on the 7 acre property pictured here, with my partner Randy. Hancock Point is a peninsula that is almost an Island if you look at the map. The ocean is not far away in any direction. We live in my farmhouse in the winter and in my cottage, Sunflower Cottage in the summer, where visitors can find me most of the time if they need me. I work as a Spanish interpreter for hospitals and clinics (in addition to renting, maintaining and cleaning the cottages and farmhouse!). Randy and I garden and maintain the property together and we really enjoy having people from other parts of the country, and even the world, come here and experience the beauty of the place we get to live in all the time. Randy and I really enjoy what we do and we want you to have a great experience here and are willing to do whatever is needed to make that happen.
