An open & airy spacious 800 sq. ft. studio loft with handcrafted furniture & original art, Artful Retreat is a unique loft in a retro building on Red Arrow Hwy centrally located in the heart of Harbor Country and is close to all this beautiful vacation area has to offer. Artful Retreat has vaulted ceilings, French doors to cozy deck, sleeping area with queen size handcrafted bed, kitchenette area with mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker & toaster, dishes, silverware, mugs & wine glasses as well as complimentary coffee, filters & condiments. The dining area has a handcrafted table & leather chairs. There is a full bath with plenty of towels, complimentary shampoo & conditioner and hair dryer. Cable TV and wireless internet are available.

You can walk 8 blocks to Lake Michigan township beaches down charming wooded lanes, visit nearby fruit markets, antique malls, art galleries, unique shops, breweries, wineries, distilleries and fine restaurants all easily accessible by foot or car. Consisting of 7 communities dotted along the shores of Lake Michigan, Harbert is located seven miles north of New Buffalo & 4 miles north of Union Pier between Lakeside & Sawyer. It is also a 6 mile ride to Three Oaks, a popular inland destination, and just 2 miles south of famous Warren Dunes.

Area Information
Located in southwest Michigan, Harbor Country is only 1hr & 15 minutes from downtown Chicago on Lake Michigan. It is a haven for artists & has several galleries. It is also known for its vinyards and fruit & vegetable farms, lush green wooded areas with hiking trails as well as excellent restaurants. Biking, hiking, kayaking & canoeing are popular sports and rentals are nearby. Winery tours are available as many excellent vinyards are in the area. A major brewery & great coffee shop with their own production facilities are located in Sawyer 1 mile away, and a few great restaurants within walking distance. Sawyer Garden Center sells everything from fine wines (wine tastings every Saturday) to tons of fresh produce to gourmet foods to trees, flowers, clothing, candles, gift items & patio furniture. New Buffalo on the Lake has many shops, restaurants & even Four Winds Casino. If you enjoy nature, take a leisurely bike ride along Lake Shore Drive all the way to New Buffalo or on country roads and hike down many nature trails as well as walk the the beach for miles. A great area for a weekend getaway!
