Lake Chatuge covers over 7000 acres and has over 130 miles of shoreline. Two access points to the Appalachian Trail are a short drive away as are many county, state and national parks and nearby Nantahala National Forest with over a half million acres.

Home is cleaned with fragrance free / green cleaning and laundry products and no pets are allowed in order to make sure that any of our guests that may have allergies are able to fully enjoy their vacation time. Fragrance Free = Yes. Pets = No.
Exception to No Pet Rule: Pets may be kept outside, in garage or on porches (one porch is screened).

This large beautiful, three-level water front home is located on deep water on Lake Chatuge North Carolina and has its own boat dock. Open floor plan with hardwood floors is great for hanging out with family and friends. Many large windows provide great views of the lake. There is also a woodstove in the living room, and a large flat screen TV in the sunroom. You can enjoy your meals in the dining room or out of the screen porch with great lake view or on the covered picnic table between house and lake. There is also a wide open deck for sunbathing or sunbathe on the dock. Free Wi-Fi and free long distance calling are also provided. The home has two kitchens, each is well stocked with cooking utensils, silverware, glasses, cups and saucers. Two living areas are on the main floor, each with great lake views. The main level has updated kitchen, living room, dining room, full bath, one bedroom on main floor, sunroom, covered screen porch, open deck with gas grill, and two master bedrooms upstairs. The lower level is an open plan studio apartment with its own kitchen and bath that includes jetted tub/shower combo. You can walk right out the sliding glass doors from this level onto your own porch and then down the gentle slope to the dock.

There's even a neighborhood boat ramp if you bring your own boat. Note that you must purchase a North Carolina fishing license to fish from shore or dock. When fishing from boat, you must have either a Georgia or a North Carolina fishing license.

If you didn't bring your own boat, there are several marinas on lake chatuge where you can rent ski boats, pontoon boats or jet skis. Chatuge Cove Marina is nearby on the North Carolina side of the lake about a 5-10 min. drive and the larger ones (Boundary Waters Marina and The Ridges Marina) are across the lake on the North Georgia side, about a 20 min. drive.

Fantastic Family Vacation Lake Chatuge

July 12, 2015

What a beautiful place. The weather was amazing, cool temperatures in July. We stayed at a private home on Lake Chatuge and it was 5 star comfort. Kids loved the downstairs room and they had their own kitchen. Upstairs had several rooms where family could gather. Enough room to be alone curled up with a good book and not be bothered too! Wifi and house phone was great as I did have a bit of work to do. Wonderful neighborhood for walking, jogging or site seeing. Close to a few hikes to waterfalls and 7-10 minutes to grocery store.

Owner's reply:

Thanks! So glad that you had a nice time at our lakehome and look forward to your stay next summer (and maybe fall too).

Lake House

July 7, 2015

House was great. Very clean and plenty of space for personal space. We found everything we needed to cook and bake with. The lake was clean and enjoyable to swim in, it would be nice to have stairs into water so slippery rocks could be avoided. Everyone enjoyed their vacation at this great lake house!

Owner's reply:

So glad you had a great time. We've got a dock ladder now so that should help with getting into the water.

Amazing, beautiful house on lake Chatuge

August 22, 2014

From my first communication with the owner the experience was great. The house itself is amazing. I was traveling with family and there were 3 adults and 4 kids and everyone had an amazing time. It's a beautiful house, it is kept in an immaculate condition, has 2 kitchens with all utensils, 4 bathrooms ! I cannot say enough the kids wanted to stay there. I am looking forward to going again next year and for a longer vacation!

Owner's reply:

Thanks, Wanda! So glad that you enjoyed your stay at our lake home. Hope to see you next year. FYI - we're implementing a rewards program, so let your friends know about our vacation rental home and earn a $25 credit for each referral. Just send me their names at same time as or prior to when they make the reservation. Best Regards - Ivan

Weekend at the lake

The house was amazing! It was even better than the pictures showed. My family and I had a wonderful weekend despite the rainy weather. The house was very comfortable and cozy. There was plenty of room for all of us. The location of the house on the lake was in a very nice, quiet cove. We would definitely rent this house again and recommend it to others.

We take semi-annual trips as a big group of couples down to the beach, and this 4th of July decided to a take a swing at the lake... because of this house we were not disappointed!! The place had more room than expected and was plenty large for our party of 8 - no one ever felt crammed. All of the furniture was in pristine condition and the set up with a big open dock was fantastic. Aaron and his wife were gracious hosts and made the whole check in process incredibly easy. Lake Chatuge (had never been there before) was absolutely gorgeous and the weather perfect. Getting to the local grocery store was very easy, so we never felt too far away from civilization if we needed anything. Part of me hates giving such a glowing review... because we don't want the secret about this place to get out :) we definitely look forward to coming back soon!!!

This property is lake frontage on Lake Chatuge, has plenty of room for the visit we planned with a couple of children and 8 grandchildren. There is a boat dock for the children to swim, or dock boat(s). Nicely taken care of and very enjoyable to use.

Wonderful week at Lake Chatuge!

Date of Stay: July 26, 2014
We spent a week at this lovely home with our two teen daughters, and it was just wonderful! Exactly the time we needed to reconnect as family. It was very spacious and comfortable in every way. The AC worked beautifully, and when the weather was cooler the ceiling fans were great at night. The lake is the cleanest one we've visited and was well worth the 11 1/2 hour drive! The dock was great, and the swimming was pleasant. My husband fished at dusk and dawn all week. We loved having breakfast in the screened porch. We rented a paddle board for a day from a place in Hiawassee that delivered it to us. Great fun! We have just one suggestion, and that would be to have a rowboat, canoe or kayak on the property for tenants to use. Thanks Aaron!
