Description of the Highland Falls vacation home rental
Because of the possibility that the house will be sold, or if not sold, rented on an annual basis, we don't want to make commitments too far into the future. I have everything blocked off more than 60 days into the future, even though it is not actually rented. I will open up the dates as time passes. Thanks for understanding.

PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER if you do not hear from me as I respond very quickly. Feel free to call me. If you include your phone, I will call you to make sure you got my response.

Rates are not only seasonal but also based on price breaks for length of stay. Price breaks start on the 3rd night...for example, $400 a night for the 1st two nights, then drops to $250 per night, drops again for one week, two weeks and one month..

The house is a four bedroom two bath (plus a laundry room toilet) brick cape, built in 1941, with a 3 season jalousie porch and finished basement. All floors are hardwood or tile. The house is just under one mile to Thayer/South Gate and is within walking distance to downtown. Location is within USMA walking privileges.

The house is set on one half acre right in the village, and is across from the pond at Roe Park, which has a great playground and basketball courts. In the back, there is a wooded view and complete privacy.

There is abundant parking on and off street. You can park three cars at the bottom of the driveway and still get in out and without having to jockey them around. You can park more cars behind the three at the bottom of the driveway, but would have to move them around to get in and out.

First floor
There are two bedrooms, 13'6'X13', with ceiling fans, with one bedroom used as an office with a queen sofa bed, and the other with a queen bed.

The living room has a couch and loveseat, leather recliner, side chair, fireplace and TV. There are some games and books, too.

Full bath, includes tub and shower.

The kitchen has stainless steel appliances, granite counters (breakfast bar, too), and is open to the dining room, which can seat six or more with leaves in the table.

Large 3 season jalousie porch (13'X20') right off the kitchen/dining room area with wicker furniture, two loveseats, table and four chairs for extra dining capability.

Second floor
There are two bedrooms 14'6'X14' with ceiling fans and queen beds. One mattress is a memory foam mattress.

Full bath with double sinks, whirlpool bath and shower.

Window air conditioners in all bedrooms and the dining room during warmer months.

There are two finished rooms, one with a couch, loveseat, fireplace and TV, and the other room has a slate top pool table.

There is an unfinished laundry room with a toilet behind a privacy screen, and a sink by the washer and dryer.

Our Pets
We do stay at the house a few times a year and bring our two cats and a dog. If you have EXTREME cat allergies, this may not work for you. We do keep the first floor bedroom door closed when we are there so no animals go in there. The dog is standard poodle, so there should be no allergy issues arising from her.

Bringing your pet will be discussed on a case by case basis.
Area Information
We are in the heart of the Hudson Valley - about 45 miles NW of NYC. Bear Mountain Park and Harriman State Park are close by, and there are multiple places to go hiking. A quick online search will bring up a multitude of activities on our areas such as golfing, hiking, visiting historical spots, taking river cruises on the Hudson River, and taking in nearby downtown areas of quaint places like Beacon or Cold Spring. Motorcyclopedia is a fantastic motorcycle Museum in Newburgh - we highly recommend it.

The house itself is located across from a town pond and park, with a nice playground, perfect for families with young children.

For West Point families, the house is located within walking privileges.

There is a multitude of information online as to what to do in the Hudson Valley, or in individual towns in our area.
Attractions within Walking Distance
Playground, local grocery shopping.
Nearby Restaurants
Suggest you visit the Newburgh waterfront.

Painters in Cornwall-on-Hudson.
For local flair, visit Andy's Restaurant in Highland Falls.
Once again try online searches to determine the best fit for you.
