Description from owner

Take your "escape" to a civil war era, one-room log cabin nestled on 75 acres with a two acre pond and its own woods. Surrounded by State and National forest, it is located in one of America's most beautiful counties...Pocahontas. There is fishing, biking, birding, swimming, hiking, skiing or absolutely NOTHINGjust silence. No phone or TV.

A stand-up loft with queen size bed overlooks the woodburning fireplace and fully equipped kitchen. During warm weather relax on the screened-in porch which looks onto the pond and is backdropped by woods.

About the area

Pocahontas County is West Virginia's largest with the least population. There is no industry here except for tourism. One hour away is downhill skiing at Snowshoe Mountain Resort as well as year-round activities such as boating and swimming; concerts and gatherings. Forty-five minutes south is historic Lewisburg, WV in Greenbrier County with shops, Antique dealers, restaurants and Theaters. Hillsboro, WV is the birthplace of Nobel and Pulitzer prize winnner Pearl S. Buck. Her house, a museum, is open to the public from April to November.
