The villa was renovated in June of this year, and is beautifully decorated, bright, and comfortable. We have added all new furnishings and a well equipped kitchen to guarantee your comfort. Each bedroom has new mattresses and plenty of storage, and each has a TV. Two of the TV's include Roku with free Netflix and Amazon Prime movies.
The balcony offers wonderful views of the outdoors, and provides a great atmosphere for enjoying that morning cup of coffee or that afternoon beverage while visiting with friends.
You're just steps from the pool (the main pool can be seen from the living room), and there are also two other pools, tennis courts, and bike paths to enjoy. We'll even work with you to provide bikes at a discount and make sure they are waiting for you when you arrive.

Our family has provided accommodations here on Hilton Head Island since 2012, with our first villa at Evian on Shipyard Plantation, our second at St Andrews Common at Palmetto Dunes the next year, and our third at Treetops near South Forest Beach this year in 2016.
What to Do
There's plenty to do in and around Hilton Head for travelers of all ages:
- Hit the links! Hilton Head is famous worldwide for its excellent golf courses. Two of the most popular are Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines and Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Dunes. Both are very busy, so reserve your tee time well in advance. If you want to walk in the legends' footsteps, play at Harbour Town, which hosts the PGA RBC Heritage tournament each year and was ranked number two in the state by the South Carolina Golf Course Ratings Panel. Other notable courses are Long Cove Club and Haig Point Club on nearby Daufauskie Island.
- Relax at one of the island's famous spas. One of the best is Ahh Green Spa near Coligny Circle, which uses only organic ingredients in facials, massages and body treatments. Another is The Art of Massage, directly across from The Village at Wexford shopping center. Come here for a relaxing massage to work out your knots from a day filled with tennis or kayaking.
- Take the kids somewhere fun! Some of the best activities for kids include taking a cruise from Pirates of Hilton Head, renting bikes or kayaks from Hilton Head Outfitters, visiting Pirate's Island Adventure Golf and going horseback riding at Lawton Stables.
- Hit the beaches. Hilton Head offers 12 miles of perfect shoreline. Some of the best are Coligny Beach, which has excellent facilities, and Singleton Beach, where you'll find sand dollars, few waves and plenty of peace and quiet.
What to See
Hilton Head Island also has some great nature preserves and museums that are perfect for families:
- Take a walk on elevated boardwalks in the swampy 400-acre Sea Pines Forest Preserve to see turtles, birds and other wildlife.
- Take a peaceful stroll through the 50-acre Audubon Newhall Preserve, which has many walking trails and a pretty pond.
- Visit the one-of-a-kind Coastal Discovery Museum, located off of Honey Horn Drive on the inner island, to see and learn about the Loggerhead Turtles, visit many sophisticated exhibits and check out the cute interactive Kidz' Zone in Discovery House.
- Catch a show at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, which features various Broadway shows by an expert cast.
Hilton Head Island has an excellent variety of festivals and events for all visitors.
- The Hilton Head Island Art Festival is held during one weekend each May at Shelter Cove Harbour. Visit the booths in which more than 150 artists from across the country sell their original work, including paintings, sculptures, pottery, jewelry and more. There's also live music to keep you entertained.
- Buy tickets in advance and head to the Hilton Head Island Wine & Food Festival, one of the most popular events in the South. Sip on local coastal wines at the public tasting, participate in a grape stomping competition a la "I Love Lucy," which includes a Lucy look-alike contest, and enjoy Lowcountry foods at the Great Chefs of the South wine dinners. The festival is held in early March.
- If you want to see golf pros up close and personal, come to Hilton Head in mid-February for the annual RBC Heritage golf tournament, which has hosted big names like Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Nick Price. Spectator tickets can be pricy, but golf lovers ages 15 and under can attend the event free of charge with an adult.
- If you're a classic car fanatic, you won't want to miss the Motoring Festival & Concours d'Elegance, which is held on one weekend in early November. The idyllic natural beauty of Hilton Head serves as a spectacular backdrop for the shiny Rolls-Royce Driving Tour. See everything from well-preserved early 20th century vehicles to modern English sports cars during a walk through the Port Royal Golf Club.
- If you are in Hilton Head at the end of February through the beginning of March the Hilton Head Island Gullah Celebration, a festival that celebrates and honors the area's Gullah culture and history, is a must-do event. The Gullah are descendants of slaves along the southeastern coast who have preserved their heritage. Celebrate by dining with a traditional oyster roast and Lowcountry boil, viewing Gullah art at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina and learning the process of indigo-dyeing.

Reviews for this vacation villa rental in Hilton Head, South Carolina

First of all, Mr. Mayfield was great to do business with. Loved the villa?nicely decorated and clean. The photos do not do the kitchen justice at all; in fact I think they should add some better pics of kitchen. I was a tad hesitant because we really like to cook. But what a delightful surprise to find such a better kitchen than I expected. But the creme de la creme was the master bath shower! I took photos of a SHOWER!! so I could take away some ideas for when I renovate. Loved being close to the pond to observe the alligators. The Roku and great TVs were nice to have for college football games and movies. Also appreciated having a gas grill with propane in the tank. Many times we've stayed in places that advertise the gas grill, but with an empty tank. No guest wants to fill a propane tank. The weather was not great for most of our stay, so only one of my sons rode a bike one time. But they are a very nice touch. I would recommend this villa to anyone.

As we have been coming to Hilton Head for 15 years, we wanted to say that we really enjoyed our stay here. We had a guest who stayed with us who is quite tall so the queen sized bed in the second bedroom was perfect. The kitchen was outfitted with all the things we needed. The decor is warm and provides for an outdoor grill and a spare tank which we used at least three times while there. The weather was a bit cool so we didn't make use of the bikes that came with the unit, but we did golf during our visit. We have plans to rent the villa again next May. We recommend this villa for renting.

This was our 2nd year staying in the Evian Villas in Shipyard and the first time in this particular villa. This year was for two months and we could not have been more pleased. We found the villa to be pleasantly decorated, very comfortable, and extremely clean. The villa was equipped with everything you could want or need including bicycles and a great grill. The view from the patio was great - and was very pleasant sitting out there watching the birds and squirrels and even an alligator or two. The bike paths around Shipyard and all of Hilton Head make it very easy to get exercise and walk to the beach. Earl has been great to work with and answered all our questions quickly. We found our own little slice of paradise here and look forward to coming back next year.

We were so excited to visit Hilton Head. The villa was clean, updated and available for us to enjoy upon our arrival. The kitchen was easy to use and a great asset with young children. Also a plus for a vacation with young children is the ability to use a washer and dryer. The access to the tennis courts, swimming pool and path to the beach were amazing. The parking pass to the beach allow for a quick trip to the beach and the private access allowed for a comfortable time playing in the sand. The bikes available to renters allow for travel throughout the area with little issues. Our family loved our time at the villa. In the words of our 6 year old our vacation was "AWESOME".

This villa was immaculate and extremely well equipped for everything you might need - from bicycles (4), a wet bar and even a crock pot in the kitchen! We loved the convenience to the pool and tennis courts. The outside patio featured some really comfortable cushioned chairs and was a great place to enjoy early morning breakfast! The shower in the master bath is AWESOME, especially for someone like me who's had hip replacement - spacious, wane feature, and even a place for sitting! Working with the property owner was a joy - responded immediately to email questions, provided easy directions to Shipyard and Evian, and provided appropriate information for use of the unit, as well arranged for all guest passes. We hope to definitely rent this unit again on our next trip to HHI, and I will recommend it to my friends and family.

The property afforded us the opportunity to spend a fantastic week on HHI the setting is very quiet and very close to the tennis courts and pool . The bikes provided were awesome to ride to and from the beach. The property was very comfortable clean and really well layed out. The kitchen was large and fully equipped and great for preparing meals and a good family breakfast. We could not have been happier with the property and it was exactly as described we would recommend giving this place serious consideration if you are headed to the island . Contact with Earl was excellent and information provided very helpful.

We have traveled to HHI every summer since I was a child; now my children consider the island their second home. If you are looking for the perfect vacation rental you don't need to look any further! This villa is CLEAN, bright, well stocked, comfortable and the location is IDEAL! We were able to sit on the back porch and enjoy breakfast while our boys played tennis right in front of us. While cooking dinner, the bridge was used to entertain our eager young fisherman. The bikes were ideal and saved us renting. I would not hesitate in recommending this unit; we have already booked it for next summer, and intend to for many years ahead! Earl is an absolute pleasure to speak to is and is attentive and kind in all of his communications. We feel very fortunate to have found him and his villa. It is a true privilege that this unit is available for rent and should you decide to stay, you will love it as much as we did!

We have stayed here several times. This would be our only choice, however the Villa is so popular it is usually booked. The owners recently upgraded the kitchen and the master bath. Very nice. It is immaculate and the location is perfect with the back patio tucked behind the tennis courts and your own small lake and lagoon. We will be back...

I just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay in this lovely vacation villa. What a great place, perfect location in Evian, close to the pool and tennis, and with a lovely view of the bridge and lake from the patio. Everything here is outstanding, very well stocked kitchen with every utensil needed for cooking complete meals. This is my third year vacationing in Shipyard, but my first in this villa. I will be coming back. After staying in other rental properties I can tell you this is hands down the best I have experienced. Little extras such as bikes, a gas grill, a crock pot, even a laundry basket. I felt like I was at home. The beds were heavenly, the master bath is amazing, and everything was exactly as described. I have no hesitation recommending this property. Now, my review would not be complete without mentioning the great people that own this home. Earl is a joy to work with, and from our first phone call I truly believed he wanted me to have a great vacation, and would do whatever he could to help me. This proved true on our drive to SC, when we learned we were driving into the severe rains from the hurricane that caused the flooding in SC. Earl was concerned about us making it safely, even offered to text me any updates while we were traveling. He also went above and beyond with offering early access to the villa the morning of our arrival, so that we could get in and settled before the worst of the rain hit. Because of this generosity we made it to HHI before they closed I95 and I26 due to floods. This was so kind and was very thoughtful. Are you thinking of reserving this villa? Stop it, stop thinking and JUST DO IT!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Earl's villa. It was wonderfully furnished and was impeccably clean, in an excellent location. Earl was a pleasure to communicate with and he quickly (and patiently) answered all of our questions in the weeks leading up to our trip. He also provided excellent documentation needed to make our stay a smooth one (community rules, wifi codes, restaurants, etc). The community was very well maintained, with plenty of bike paths. The beach was easily accessible by bike, with an outdoor shower and bathrooms. We enjoyed riding the bikes that were at the villa. Golf and tennis were also available. It was our first time on Hilton Head Island, so we enjoyed exploring the island and also took day trips to Savannah, Charleston and Beaufort. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxed week. It was just the get away that we needed.

My family and I had a lovely vacation. We were very pleased with our stay and found this villa to be clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and perfect for our needs. It was wonderful not having to rent bikes during our stay. The beach was only a short walk/bike ride away! We enjoyed having Amazon Prime and Netflix for movies when we had had enough sun and beach time. Our kids enjoyed the short walk to the bridge to watch the alligators and turtles swim. The kitchen was well-equipped and we enjoyed many meals in this week. The owner, Earl was a joy to deal with from the moment we booked the trip until the day we left. I highly recommend this villa and hope we will be able to return again!

This condo was the best we have ever stayed at. Our first experience was one years ago at Hilton Head at Evian. It had everything we ever needed for two couples and much more. It was exceptional in every way imaginable. We had lots of fun and relaxation, the beach, restaurants, bike riding, even cooking and grilling after fun in the sun at the beach! We loved it so much we rebooked for additional days for 2014, and even a longer time for 2015. Much to see and do in the surrounding areas! The owner was very helpful and courteous and attended to any needs or questions that we had during our stay!

This unit was extremely comfortable and lovely! When my husband & I travel we usually look forward to returning home to our Sleep Number bed. This master bedroom was so comfortable that we slept better away from home! The layout and finishing touches in the Master Bath were so well done that we took pictures to re-create it in our home. Also, we truly appreciated the higher commodes compared to other units we visited. The kitchen was beautifully updated with granite counter tops and as an end unit, it had lots of light. We had a wonderful time being a short distance from our son & daughter who were in near-by condos. The natural environment in Evian gave our grandchildren many creature sightings to report during their morning biking treks on their way to visit us. The week went by too quickly! We highly recommend Earl's property for all the reasons mentioned above and because he was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions through-out the entire experience, from booking months prior to our vacation through returning our deposit once we checked out! Enthusiastically, El & Al
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experiences while staying at the villa. It seems you found many ways to make lasting memories with your children and grandchildren as well as enjoy all the comforts of our home. I have to agree with you that sleeping there is even more relaxing than at home and the recent renovations made to the baths and kitchen added much to the already wonderful layout. We're expecting pictures of your new bathroom when you get it completed and we look forward to your return to HHI with your family again.
Highly recommend this unit

Excellent place to stay. This was the second year for us staying at this Evian location. Place is beautiful - the kitchen and master bathroom remodeling job looks fantastic. Unit has everything you need. The owners are wonderful and quick to respond to any issues or questions you have before and during your stay. The tennis courts are in great condition and we used them every day. We were once again very happy with our choice to stay here again and our looking forward to another vacation in 2015!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience so soon after your return home from your second stay at our villa. Because tennis plays such an important role in your family's life, we were excited to tell you when you booked this year that you would be playing on brand new tennis courts. Glad you used them every day. Every minute of our guest's vacation is important to us too, so we welcome their reaching out to us for answers to questions, concerns, or suggestions. It's an important part of an owner's responsibility to reply immediately whether it's before, during, or after their trip. Thanks again and we hope you come back to our villa in 2015 for your third vacation with us.

Our family just returned from our vacation at this well equipped, impeccably maintained villa in HHI. We have rented directly from property owners for years, and I must say, this was the most pleasant experience we have had. And we have had a lot of good stays! The owner is an absolute joy to work with. This villa is beautifully decorated, warm and inviting and has everything you will need to enjoy your time in beautiful Hilton Head. We hated to leave, but look forward to returning next summer!

This was our first visit to Hilton Head island and we thouroughly enjoyed it. The villa is very cozy with a cottage type feel to it. We felt right at home from the moment we walked in the door. It looks exactly like the pictures online! We really liked the fact that you could park right in front. The villa is a very short walk from the pool which was nice. We had fun walking out to the lagoon in the morning for alligator sightings. Yes alligators! The Shipyard Plantation is in a good location on the island. We rode our bikes to Coligny Plaza. This villa is also very kid friendly! We loved it and already decided we will stay in the exact same place the next time we return to Hilton Head Island.
