Description from owner

This is the best oceanfront condo in Waikiki...period.

This unit is the most favored oceanfront unit in Waikiki and with the great referrals it generates, it is STRONGLY SUGGESTED that you book this unit far in advance to ensure your reservation. If you book our Oceanview Kauai house for 60 days or more, we'll throw in a 2-3 night at the Sky Penthouse for just $99.

With only two oceanfront buildings that can be privately owned, this is by far the best there is. No one wants to cross a busy street or deal with the traffic to get to the sand.

The "Sky Penthouse" is an amazing million dollar two bedroom, luxury executive penthouse located on the oceanfront of Waikiki. This unit has recently been totally, and we mean totally, remodeled from the bare studs up to create a sophisticated, elegant yet tropical retreat that is unsurpassed in Waikiki.

This amazing unit has Italian travertine floors throughout, gorgeous gourmet kitchen with custom maple cabinets, granite counter tops and all stainless steel appliances. The large livingroom has raised nine foot ceilings faux painted with the sky, hence the name "The Sky Penthouse". Custom Maple/Cherry entertainment center and wall unit in the living room come equipped with flat screen High Definition cable TV, stereo, DVD and a reading library of books.

The built-in work station is perfect for travelling businessmen who want to do some work with the free wireless high speed internet while watching the whales pass outside the unit length windows and balcony. The couch is also a queen-size sofa-bed for extra guests and the dining room has a expandable Japanese dining table for those who like to entertain.

The large master bedroom with its nine foot sky ceiling is outfitted with a luxurious California king cherry wood bed, custom Cherry wood closets, beautiful Cherry end tables with reading lamps from Indonesia and full length glass sliders that open to the balcony. Nothing is quite like waking up in the morning and while laying in bed, watching the waves and surfers in the beautiful Hawaiian ocean. A cable TV and DVD are also in the master.

The second bedroom is perfect for guests who don't need a ton of space. Its outfitted with a queen bed and cable TV and is beautifully decorated in the tropical spirit. Off the second bedroom is the in-suite laundry room and storage area for your baggage.

The bathroom is also all travertine floors, custom maple cabinets, Blue Pearl Granite, double sinks, brushed stainless fixtures, and the shower is full travertine too.

Did we mention the beautiful new furnishing by C.W. Woo that add a tropical elegance or the Hawaiian inspired decorations and limited edition paintings that bring the Hawaiian culture right inside your home'

We saved the best for lastlocation...location...locationAND views galore. The units full length glass sliders opens to the unit length balcony that has incredible views of Waikiki Beach, lagoon and Diamond Head Volcano.

“Ilikai Condos”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2015

From the moment you book to our check out, my party of 5 were well looked after. The condo was clean, spacious and comfortable. I like the idea of passcode to enter, so you don't have to worry about any cards being lost. The view was beautiful. There condo made our stay in Waikiki very enjoyable, no stress and no mess with the logistics of checking in or out. Highly recommended.

The unit was equipped with everything you need for a nice, relaxing stay. Clean upon arrival, with the most unbelievable view of the lagoon and beyond. Would definately stay in the unit again :-)

Great location. Plenty of space. Everything works. Full kitchen. Tune Into channel 800 for Hawaiian music. Perfect spot for Friday night fireworks. Easy door access. Can rent a car downstairs. ABC stores everywhere. Cab rights $ 29 from airport to Ilikai, call Charlie's taxi. Highly recommend this location if you want peace and quiet or you want to walk half mile into the madness of Waikiki. Overall grade = A

“Great accommodation”

Great apartment approx 15 minutes walk from Waikiki beach but well positioned next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Beautiful views from all windows. Comfortable bed. Great restaurant and shop. Air con a bit noisy but otherwise we were really happy with this place! Would stay here again.

“Great place to rent”

This location is geographically convenient to the beach, shopping, and downtown. Our kids were really enjoyed. In addition, they have beach umbrella and chairs, even we finally didn't get a chance to use them (too many activities in 7 days). Great ocean view too. Highly recommend.

“Awsome View”

We absolutely loved our stay! Could not have been more surprised by the accommodations! The views were exceptional from all rooms! Upon arrival, the accommodations were extremely clean! We had 5 adults during our stay and had plenty of room! Beach towels, snorkel's, and boogie board were provided for us to use! The location was fabulous as well! Just a few blocks to the beach, marina and to all of the restaurants and shopping in Waikiki! We have a daughter attending UH and will definitely try to rent this property again in the future! I can't think of ANYTHING that I was not happy with!

“Fantastic apartment”

We had 2 nights in unit 1926, and it was superb great views of the ocean, we were also treated to a free show at the Hilton which we could view from the comfort of our balcony, also a spectacular firework display on the Friday night, I would certainly recommend this apartment from the standard of furnishings inside and out, also the beds were very comfortable. Location was ideal, as it was just a short trolley ride to Waikiki beach(if 5/6 take a cab it's cheaper) but the area infront of the complex had the Hilton lagoon, which is great and open to everyone, also the beach and sea were great and not overcrowded like Waikiki. Loads of places to dine within easy walking distance. Overall great I would use this again, should I return.

We just returned from a 3 week family vacation to Hawaii in celebration of our 25th wedding anniversary, wrapping up week long stays on Kauai, Maui and Oahu. We have been very fortunate to have traveled the world, but Kauai has always held a very special place in our hearts as Lumahai Beach is where I proposed to my wife on our very first visit there back in 1984. Three children and 11 trips later (our 9th staying in a Princeville property), the Holleran's Puo Poa vacation condo has been the best accommodations to date, by far. The property truly exceeded our expectations...very well kept, beautifully decorated (especially the artwork!), equipped with high end furnishings throughout, and very open and airy with magnificent views. Whether on a trip to the other side of the island, or just a nearby visit to Hanalei Beach, it was always reassuring to know in the back or our minds that at the end of the day we would be returning to our truly luxurious Puo Poa accommodations. Kauai was our first stop, followed by oceanfront property stays on Maui then Oahu...but our three kids (14, 18 & 21) all kept mentioning the whole time how much more they had enjoyed our stay on Kauai, which I'm certain was due in very large part to our wonderful accommodations. We have found our ideal Kauai vacation rental, and look forward to staying here again on all subsequent visits. Thanks to the owners for sharing their slice of heaven with us!

“Great Location, Clean, Great Views!!”

Reviewed 6 Mar 2011

We stayed in the penthouse suite for 9 days in February 2011. The condo was very clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, the master bedroom was spacious, the 2nd bedroom was quite small and the mattress not very comfortable. We also felt that the pictures of the condo on the website portrayed the rooms much larger than they actually were, that is our only real complaint. The location was great, close to the bus stops, the beach, restaurants etc. The unit was very clean something that is very important to our family. The hotel staff were friendly & helpful to us. Our family had a great time & hope to return soon!!

“Sky view penthouse”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2010

There were 5 of us staying in the Sky View penthose at the Ilikai Hotel. The condo was perrfect for my family with a great view of Diamond Head, the lagoon and the ocean. The Friday night fireworks at eye level were icing on the cake. The beds were comfortable, the large doors sliding open to the balcony added to the open feeling of the main room. Where is the swith to turn on the one light ner the shower?
