Description of the Honolulu vacation condo rental
This penthouse is located in Island Colony , 445 Seaside Avenue in the heart of Waikiki. This condo is only a 5 minute walk to Waikiki Beach. The map is very deceiving as there are so many buildings in that area, it looks far away, but it is really very close to everything. Newly remodeled kitchen, new leather reclining love seat, new wood floors in main room, queen bed, new flat screen cable TV, 9 X 12 tiled lanai with fantastic views of the ocean, city and mountains. Air Conditioned. This very popular building has a new , large pool, spa, large sun deck with cabanas, BBQ area, fitness center,sauna, coin operated laundry with 20 machines, convenience store, all on the 6th floor. Sleeps 2 in queen bed, plus guest or child on reclining love seat.

Our location is very convenient to shopping, entertainment, food stores, The Bus, restaurants, and only 2 blocks to many Waikiki Beaches. Only minutes walk to all of the above. NO car is needed here. There is a Enterprise Car Rental on the ground floor of the building if you want to tour the Island, drive to North Shore or visit other attractions on the Island. Simply reserve a car in advance and pick it up early in the morning and return it before closing and save on the expensive parking. If you need a car every day, ask me about my low rate private parking space.

We also have several other beautiful studios and 1 BR units in this building that may be available for your dates, including next winter!. Please call or email for availability and rates. Generally our other studios are a lower rate than the penthouse condos. All the rates listed in this ad are for the penthouse studios.

My assistant lives in the building and is there to meet you on arrival, and is your contact person during your stay in Waikiki.

Area Information
We are located in the heart of Waikiki on Seaside Avenue, near the Ala Wai Canal.
Still only 2 blocks to Waikiki Beach, and all the many activiites in the Waikiki area.
There are parks, museums, beaches, restaurants of all kinds, tons of shopping.
The Bus is only a 1 minute walk from our front door and can take you anywhere on the island. Bus passes are available for a week, or a month. Senior rates are
quite affordable. Show your medicare card and ride the bus for $1.00. Regular
rate is $2.50 per adult, and less for children.

Walk along the Ala Wai Blvd, or along the beach and look at all the sights! See kids surfing, playing in the sand and of course the sunbathers. In Waikiki they have a parade many times during the year. Free booklets on the street will tell you about upcoming events and also offer many discount coupons for tours, restaurants and rides back to the airport.

Waikiki is very safe area to walk around, even during the evening.

Thanks Gerry for another great stay at the Island Colony.. The suite was clean,compact and had everything you need for a relaxing vacation...The lanai is amazing...I started everyday with coffee watching the rowers on the canal and ended with a beverage watching the sunset over the ocean.... Gerry and her onsite manager Irene are such a pleasure to deal with and are the reason I return every year to the Island Colony....

We had a wonderful time staying in 4406 this year. The unit was perfect, clean, and we had room to entertain. The covered 9 X 12 lanai was where we spent most of our time. The view was incredible, always something to watch on the ocean or canal, and friday night fireworks at the Hilton...great seats, no hassle. Our hosts were very accommodating, supplying everything we asked for. We did not need a car as the bus system is fantastic, especially for seniors, and drivers and locals very friendly and helpful. We will return. Sue and Norm from Canada.
( Note: they are coming back for several months this winter.)

Q: Do we need a car in Waikiki?
A: NO. Most entertainment, shopping, food stores, and beaches are within a few minutes walk. If you want to drive around the Island, go to Hanauma Bay, or Pearl Harbor, you can take a bus or rent a car for the day, and return it before closing to avoid parking costs. Enterprise Car rental is located on the ground floor of Island Colony.
Q: What is the view from the 44th floor ?
A: From the huge 9 X 12 lanai you can see the ocean, city all the way to the airport, and the mountains.
Watch the planes arriving and departing over waikiki. See the canoes on the Ala Wai Canal. Watch the sun set. Get your suntan from the comfort of the private lanai,with new chaise lounge.

Of course everyone wants to see the Friday night fireworks and you have a great seat!
Q: How far is Waikiki Beach?
A: We are about a 5-6 minute walk to several Waikiki beaches. Or take the bus to the end of Waikiki where the bus stops just across the street from the Beach, near Kapiolani Park.
Q: Do you have a pool at Island Colony?
A: Yes, we have a new , large pool , sundeck with lounge chairs, cabanas, BBQ, sauna, jacuzzi, toilets, showers and a convenience store all on the 6th floor. No glass bottles are allowed in pool area. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, as there is no life guard at the pool.
