This is a darling place that feels very clean and well designed. Very livable. You watch the moon rise and set in the bedroom. I would say if you have small children or tend towards messy, this is not the right place. Our teenager made some big mistakes. The owner was amazing and understanding. She went above and beyond. I would stay her again in a heartbeat, however I would leave the kid at home. The Kaimuki neighborhood is a wonderful local area. There are great restaurants down the hill and it is about 15 min from Waikiki, if that is your thing.
Lorraine wrote: We are so happy that our daughter found this listing for us. It was perfect for our needs. The space, view and location were incredible. The owner was friendly and helpful. We felt right at home. Would definitely stay there again.
Bob S. wrote: The view from Sandy's home is spectacular and so is the home itself. The location makes it accessible to just about anywhere you want to go. After a day of activities we looked forward to returning to the home which is clean, quiet and furnished with everything to make your stay comfortable. We have stayed at several places during our trips to Hawaii and Sandy's has been the nicest one. We would certainly go back.
Becky wrote: This home is absolutely amazing. The view from the bedroom and lanai will take your breath away, and this lovely house was regularly crowned by full, double rainbows during our stay. It's located in a great neighborhood so you can feel just like a local, and is completely decked out with anything you could possibly need. Sandi even brought us fresh mangos from her tree, and had Hawaiian coffee waiting for us. The decor is exquisite, with beautiful art, vintage Hawaiian, and elegant white, comfortable and stylish furniture throughout. It's above Kaimuki, honolulu's fast-growing, hip neighborhood, where you can find Himalayan food, delicious dim sum, Hawaiian pancakes, and lamb corn dogs for unforgettable dining experiences. Sandi is a gracious host who made it extra nice to stay there. We can't wait to return.
Jared wrote: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fabulous property! Breathtaking views from the upper deck sitting area, located high up in a great neighborhood, well appointed and completely updated finish work inside the home, plenty of breeze to keep the house cool and comfortable with open windows, access to BBQ, washer & dryer, and so much more! We fell asleep every night to the soft breeze and sounds of the mango tree leaves blowing in the distance, it was absolutely perfect! (And thanks again Sandy for the snorkel gear and bugie boards, we had a blast at the beach!) We can't wait to come back!
Sandy's Chic Hawaiian Retreat is perfectly named. She has created a beautiful, well-appointed, comfortable and spotlessly clean space for her guests. The simple and elegant furnishings and decor are tasteful and soothing -- it could be featured in a House Beautiful magazine. Every detail has been considered so all you have to do is bring your toothbrush and settle in! It's a downstairs unit, but it has great light and is very airy. You will love the vintage Hawaiian art, the modern and well-equipped kitchen and the tiled bathroom with a spacious shower. Newly remodeled and finished in high-end materials, everything is well thought out and in good working order. Sandy is a most gracious host. When we inquired whether the unit had a coffee grinder, she responded that it did not but she would get one. And, she did. It was there upon our arrival and we enjoyed having great coffee every morning, freshly ground, and brewed in her nifty coffee maker! We had a wonderful stay at the Chic Retreat, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a home away from home, in beautiful surroundings and in a convenient location. Thank you, Sandy!
