Reviews for this vacation apartment rental in Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii

The condo/apartment was good for the price. Only thing is the windows are outdated that they don't close all the way and can hear noise from street. If they upgraded the windows than it would be 5 stars.
April 6, 2015
It might be time to remodel the condo. I believe that, except for the flooring most everything is original 1965ish.
January 1, 2015
After booking this place in May, we had our reservation cancelled out of the blue one month before our departure. We couldn't find any 2 bedroom condos so we had to cancel our flights at a cost of 90 bucks per ticket times 4.
Condo from Heaven

Waikiki was the final destination of our U.S.tour. We are a family of four with 2 teenagers 14 and 15 and we stayed for 7 nights. The Condo we booked suited our needs to a tee. The location was perfect and quiet of a night. Very comfortable and roomy lodgings at a reasonable rates. We would definately stay here again and would recommend this company to anyone. An awesome end to a great holiday.

We arrived at the unit on time. We managed to get to our unit after asking how to utilize the entry key for the elevators. The room was always hot and uncomfortable. Despite the fact that we opened the windows and siding door we could never reach a level of comfort. It was always muggy and hot in the room. I remember a review about noise. It is true. It seems that the street was always busy into the night. Sirens seemed to be a norm every night. The unit is small and probably would not sleep six with one bathroom. It was difficult with 2 adults and 2 children. I felt the entire building needed some very serious upkeep. I would not rent this unit again. Of course I enjoyed the island, but the unit was uncomfortable because we could never escape the humid and warm temperatures after being out all day.

Close to beach
July 12, 2014
Enjoyed our short stay here with my wife and two adult children. Staff are friendly and helpful. The unit is about one and half blocks from one of the better Waikiki beaches and a number of stores and restaurants. The apartment was comfortable, beds are firm, great view from the balcony.
Gracious Hosts and close to the beach
January 4, 2014
Great communication from the owners from the beginning. The unit was ready upon arrival and is very clean. The owners ensured we had parking for our rent a car however I would recommend checking with the host before you make rental car arrangement. The unit is very close to everything and we found we walked every where except to the site of the destination wedding we were there to attend. This 2 bedroom unit will supply all your needs the one caveat is there is no air conditioning in the unit. No air conditioning is common for the area and these type of rental units. The unit was never represented to have air but there are a few nights in Waikiki where some people may want air.
December 12, 2013
The condo was clean, reasonably comfortable and Wifi access very convenient. However, it did not meet our expectations & we would rate it only a 3-star accommodation. The pictures and the description in the advertisements only partly reflected reality. The booking arrangements were first rate and the building well managed and secure.

Immaculatey clean and best Honolulu location in Lewers St. Beach and Bus at door. 2 bed/2 bath, sitting room, kitchen and laundry. Cool and comfortable and very quiet given excellent location. You need to keep tidy yourself as servicing not including. Great for a group of friends or family. Highly recommended.

This facility had been recently renovated and was nice.It was in a very secure, quiet building. We saved a ton of money by having a full kitchen to prepare meals. There was an easy check in and check out process. Everyone was very nice and great to work with. Our only frustration was parking, but that is just the way it is in Waikiki.
Perfect condo for a family of four adults
June 16, 2013
The condo worked perfectly for our family of four adults. It was clean and big enough to sleep five adults comfortably and was only a three block walk to Waikiki Beach. But, most importantly, Esther was amazing to work with! Thank you Esther!

Upon arrival the location and appearance of the place is t the best. I almost thought I was scammed out of my money. The outside of the condo looked old and full of old and homeless ppl. However once inside it was exactly what the pictures look like. The cons: I didn't like how the door was really hard to open, had to wiggle the key a few times to open. The rooms are average size also the bathroom. The owners should put new towels in the condo. They looked old and dingy. I had to go buy my own. Was t sure how many faces a d bodies touched those towels. The parking is horrible. For the amount we paid, parking should have been included. But we had to pay $16 bucks to park in a public garage rather than where we stayed. It was out in the ad that there was a washer and dryer, um no. It was down the hall where you had to pay to wash. Also the ad stated we were just a few blocks from the beach, no again. It was more than a few blocks. We had to rent mopeds to get around easier than the rental, which wasn't needed. The pros: great location, place very clean. Kitchen equipped with everything you need except food of course. Overall a great stay but would I stay again, probably not.

Royal Aloha condo rental
November 1, 2011
We had a very pleasant stay at this condo and would recommend it to others, It has everything you need and is close to a very nice, and relatively quiet Waikiki beach. A parking stall in the building was available to us at a reasonable fee which was handy since we had a rental car for the week that we stayed.
September 12, 2011
We are a family of 4 adults and stayed in a 2 bed/2bath on 8th floor overlooking pool. This is the quieter side and the Lanais are slightly larger than on the otherside. You do face the carpark directly opposite the Hotel but this is not too distracting. All the room amenties are good, full cooking facilities, washer & drier, shower is over the bath in 2nd bathroom, seperate in the Main ensuite.Beds are comfortable,2 queens in 2nd bedroom a King in the Master bedroom.Safe deposit in closet. We requested to see rooms on a higher level and were offered a 9th floor on the street side.Stayed in 8th floor room for 5days then changed to 9th floor for the balance of our stay. Personally we all felt the 8th floor on the pool side was better. The Lanias on the 9th floor street side are much smaller, the 10thfloor above has bigger lanais and we unfortunatley could hear the movements of their outdoor chairs in our bedrooms at night. The only advantage that the 9th floor room had was a spa bath in the master suite. We didn't use carpark as it is valet and had read it is expensive,Initial arrival is alittle confusing as the lobby is located above the carpark and main st & you have to use elevators to check-in this could be a little difficult if you have a few bags and children, would recommend initially a person goes to front desk and requests a trolley for assistance. We requested to use the Hospitality suite on our last day for final showers as our flight did not leave until 11pm.They allow 15 mins per person and calculate the room time on this, it is a fully equiped 1 bedroom suite so is very good if there is a group of you. The front desk was very accomodating and were actually had room for longer than 1hour as there were no other requests to use the room. The resort did contact us to attend Timeshare seminar we politely refused, they were persistent and attempted 3 times, we made our intentsions clear and eventually they stopped . We had an unfortunate incident happen when staying in the 9th floor room, when we returned one evening we found that the room above on the 10th floor had had a major overflow of their washing machine and the water had leaked through the ceiling into our master ensuite. One of the front desk staff was very helpful, but her counterpart unfortunatley had a little bit of a bad attitude whereby she didnt seem to take it quite so seriously. We did get it sorted with the help from the Maintenance men who where very helpful.Overall highly recommend.

My family (me,wife,son-20yrs,daughter-14yrs) stayed here for 10 days. The condo felt like home, very clean and comfortable. Everything was within walking distance. Me being in law enforcement,The most important thing to me was safety and security.....and yes, the complex is secured. You need a special Key to enter the building and use the elevators. The WIFI was also a big plus as well as the beach towels, boogie board, snorkel equipment...etc. Jim, made checking in easy and the entire stay very comfortable for us....Thanks again Jim!.
Comfortable & Homey
August 15, 2011
This condo is comfortable and as described. Jim and Yas provide the basics for a happy holidaying family, with beach towels, beach chairs, umbrella, snorkels, fins and masks. The beds are comfortable & the Ala Wai breeze delightful. The air conditioning is a there, but not necessary and the internet is an added bonus. The kitchen is nicely equipped, but a few more saucepans and tongs wouldn't go astray. The building is quiet and the residents friendly, sure there is some street noise, but in Waikiki it's hard to avoid. The owners were readily accessible and very helpful in making our trip easy, we found them professional and polite and have no hesitation in recommending their property to others. Enjoy.

waikiki holiday may 2011
July 23, 2011
Our family of four ( 2 adults and 2 teenagers) stayed in this property for 8 days at the end of may. It is an easy walk to all the action on Waikiki Beach. The condo has pretty much everything you need, just pick up some groceries and you are all set. Aside from some minor cosmetic details (could use a coat of paint) it is a great place and I wouldnt hesitate to stay here again. Parking anywhere in Waikiki is a challenge so I would advise renting your parking space at the suggested condo next door. We did find a parking garage down by the beach behind the Beachcomber for $7 a day if you prepaid, but we usually walked everywhere we wanted to go.

It was nice having a place with a kitchen! The place was clean, but furniture was somewhat old and I expected more of a Hawaiian touch to the place. The master bed, however, was VERY comfortable! Being right there on McCully, between the Ala Wai and Kalakaua Blvd., it was very noisy and the constant sirens were annoying. The security personnel weren't very friendly either. However, Jim was very nice and helpful, and has no power over the noise that comes with being in Waikiki. We did have a wonderful stay and the Royal Aloha is nicely located; close to grocery stores (local, not only ABC) and restaurants. It was nice being right there on the Ala Wai too; had nice morning walks. You have the option of going to Ft. De Russy Beach or the Ala Moana Beach. Nice!

We had a great holiday in Hawaii, the location of the accommodation was good, a short walk to Waikiki beach and Ala Moana Centre or an easy bus ride. We found it to be neat, tidy and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and had all we required. However, the toilet blocked and overflowed all over the floor, leaving us to use our bath towels to mop up and then having to wash and dry them. The same day we had issues with the bath when it would not drain, a plumber had to be called. The air conditioning worked well in the main bedroom and living area, however, it barely blew cold air in the second bedroom. In addition to this, the last four days of our stay we had to endure loud domestic disputes from the neighbours. They would sit on their balcony smoking all day and night, so we had to shut all the windows and use the air conditioning.

1305 Royal Aloha-Comfortable!
April 11, 2011
Jim's rental met our needs perfectly and after each busy day of site-seeing and watching sunsets, was a relaxing place to end our adventurous days and evenings. The kitchen was set up for the meals we did prepare, the beds were comfortable and living area relaxing. We enjoyed the night lights from the patio and views of the city and ocean during the day. We would rent again on another Oahu vacation!

Paradise in paradise
April 3, 2011
The accommodations are superb; the amenities more than you could ask for. We are a family of 6; it is almost impossible to get one hotel room, even suites, to accomodate us. We often therefore have to look for two rooms. Of course, at twice the price. So while the cost here may look a little above the norm, in fact we saved by renting this accomodation. What we had was a beautiful, very well appointed, up-to-date one bedroom with a "lock off" (actually an adjoining studio), under the "Hilton" banner, which means we are taken care of, in every respect. Chris, thanks for this, we are highly recommending you!
Very good value
February 16, 2011
We stayed here for 2 weeks and we were very pleased with the accommodations and the extras that were included like the beach stuff and free internet. Jim answered all of our questions promptly. The residents of the condo were very friendly. The only thing that was a little dissappointing was the traffic noice. We are from a rural area and we found it very noisy but would definitely come again. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Great location, price and amenities
January 1, 2011
Family of 6 (including one small toddler) stayed at this well kept establishment. Kitchen was in perfect working order, air conditioning kept us cool when needed, large TV kept my toddler happy and rooms were adequately sized and comfortable. Price was very decent as well. This location is well within walking distances to shopping, restaurants and grocery stores. Basically providing all the comforts of home you need. Only quibble we had was the need to search for a free wireless internet signal strong enough to connect to for our internet needs. We would stay here again if we come back to vacation in Oahu and would recommend this rental to our friends and family... :) Aloha, Brian.
A GGOD VALUE!
November 15, 2010
Both the accommodations and location were excellent. Thanks for the extras like beach gear, etc. Our kids and grandkids enjoyed the size of the apartment and the lovely balcony. We suggest a few more pans with lids for those who enjoy preparing family size meals. Would definitely recommend this apartment to friends who are looking for a good value and central location.

What a great place to stay! A truly home away from home - the convenience of the kitchen was terrific, beat eating out and guarantee to save money. The location is in walking distance to many places. This was the first time we stayed in a vacation rental and Jim replied back to any questions I have prior to arrival quickly both by email and direct called. Best value for a two bedrooms and accommodation of six (4 adults and 2 children) in Waikiki I could find. We definitely recommend this condo and would stay there again. Thanks Jim!

We really enjoyed our stay in Hawaii. The condo was in a great location; close enough to walk to everything, but not in the heart of the tourist scene. It was also very clean and fully equipped. It met all of our expectations. Jim was very helpful and extremely pleasant to deal with. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Great Place to Stay
February 5, 2010
We spend 2 weeks at the Royal Aloha Condo, from 02-14 Jan 10 it was a very pleasant stay, I was not sure about renting a condo, and after long consideration I changed my mind and was happy I did. If planning a vacation to Hawaii I recommend doing so. You can't go wrong with Royal Aloha it is close to all amenities and the beach, getting around was easy and inexpensive. Jim explained all that was available in the area, he was very helpful and understanding to our needs. The condo was very clean and tidy with ample space for me, my daughter, son and his girlfriend, the condo is well furnish with clean towels, dishes, basically everything you need at home it even have beach gear like diving goggles and fins. My kids and I had a great time after a few days of using taxies and the free shuttle to get around I rented a vehicle, just a point to note if you plan on renting a vehicle parking is extra, this was explained fully by Jim, I found we needed to rent a vehicle so we could go visit all the sight on the island, but parking was still affordable using the parking garage behind the condo. All transaction was done on a professional manner with no extra or added charges. I was able to use my lap top to access the wireless internet the whole time I was there. I plan on visiting Hawaii again in the future and I plan on using this place again. Thanks to Jim for a pleasant and awesome place to stay keep up the great job. The Lawson Edmonton, AB Canada

A Royal Aloha Thanksgiving
December 16, 2009
The Royal Aloha had everything my friends and I could need, and it came at a very reasonable and affordable price. There was ample room for 5. The kitchen was fully furnished, making it easy to prepare our own food. It was very thoughtful that there were clean bath towels, beach towels, beach/pool accessories (chairs, boogie boards, etc), and ponchos at the condo for us to use. There was a nice breeze that flowed through the condo, making it unnecessary to use the A/C. The pool was great, with BBQ grills that made for a great dinner. I greatly appreciated the detailed yet easy-to-follow self-check-in and check-out instructions, provided by Jim. I felt very comfortable with the Rental Agreement and was confident that if I needed to contact Jim I could, although I never needed to. I also greatly appreciated the tips in the “Island Activities†binder in the condo, as well as the suggestions Jim sent regarding where to shop for groceries, etc. The location of the condo was perfect. It’s a walking distance from the beach, shopping, tourist attractions, and hotels, yet its far enough from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki to be quiet and relaxing. I’m a second year law student, and my roommates consist of 3 graduate students in Chemistry, and a newly graduated RN. We all work very hard, have very limited budgets, and don’t have much time to research vacations. Jim’s Royal Aloha listing made everything very easy. We had a great time and got a great deal, thanks to Jim!
Perfection in Waikiki!!
July 9, 2009
We were looking for an affordable yet well located condo for our vacation with our 2 year old and found this place. Online, it looks fantastic and in person, it was even better. Amazing views from every window, lots of light, beautifully remodeled and decorated and very, very comfortable. The location is great, too - 2 blocks from the zoo, three from the ocean, and one from three ABC stores. It wasn't the most sound-proof condo but that was mostly due to the beautiful tile throughout the unit and the compact size. However, it was plently large for our needs. We would definitely stay there again.

#1305 Royal Aloha Condo Review - Nice!
March 29, 2009
My family of four adults stayed in this condo comfortably. It was conveniently located to many shops, restaurants, bus stops, beaches & parks. The condo was secure, felt safe. Parking rental cars next door at the Royal Monarch was a good deal at $12/night. The condo was clean upon arrival and had what we needed. It was nice to have the beach items: towels, boogie boards, mats, umbrella! Reasonably priced with prompt and courteous communication with the owner prior to arrival and working out rental details. Would recommend this condo to others visiting the Waikiki/Ala Moana area! Hope to return again ourselves! Mahola!!

The accomodations were great. The kitchen was amazing. Would have been a five star rating escept for the construction noise.
Many thanks for sending on Lisa's purse and for the way in which you
assisted in getting it back. This act in addition to the marvelous
unit you rented us made for a thoroughly enjoyable holiday for me and
my family. The presentation of the unit and its location were superb
and we found that all of our needs were catered for.
Could you also pass on our thanks to Ricardo as his hospitality and
kindness on our arrival prepared us for a good break. What we liked
mostly about the unit were 2 things. One was the comfortable fixtures
that allowed us to relax after a long day doing the tourist things and
the second was that it was perfectly located to allow us to walk to
either Waikiki boardwalk (a few minutes) and also Ala Moana shopping
complex (10 minutes). We spent New Years eve at a luau in the Hilton
(5 minutes walk) and watched the fireworks on the beach. Access to
the trolleys and buses was magnificent and all in all a great holiday
was had by all.
I look forward to returning to Hawaii one day and once again staying
in your apartment.
Regards and thanks

Recently my wife and I visited Waikiki for a wedding. We were on a bit of a budget and time shortage for a place to find, so I checked out this site and found the wonderful Royal Aloha. The condo was clean and tasteful, as well as secure, with quick and easy access to downtown and the beach, great pricing and best of al...really nice people! I want to thank Jim and Ricardo for making our rental experience a great one!
