Description from owner

Experience the old time Hawaii. Hawaii 5-0 has filmed twice at Hawaiian King! This unique building brings back old Hawaii, but offers a full condominium style. The unit contains a king bed with a double futon with upgraded mattress that pulls out. The unit is on the 5th floor with privacy on the lanai. You have a full kitchen to prepare meals with all the equipment you need. You have all the linens, towels and even beach towels in the unit.

The beach chairs are located on the lanai where you can store your surfboard. The unit also includes a hairdryer and iron if needed. Ice coolers provided with ice packs for drinks at the beach or that special picnic. The unit includes a flat screen TV, DVD system and CD player. Your telephone can be used for local calls or dial up local internet connection. You must have a calling card for long distance. Private Wi-Fi has been provided in the unit.

There is also wireless internet located poolside, since the unit Wi-Fi probably does not reach that far.

You can walk up to the unit or take your shopping treasures by elevator.

Non-Smoking Unit. No smoking on lanai or any other common areas of the units.

Take a swim in our sparkling pool after a long day at Waikiki Beach. Grab a lounge chair to relax or read. A BBQ is provided so bring the dishes provided from the unit to the pool to cook your favorite meal and dine by tiki torches. A sundry store is located at the entry of the building and a grocery is two blocks down the street.

The unit is air conditioned or use the ceiling fan in the bedroom. If you need to do laundry, there is a coin-operated room on the 1st floor while you lounge at the pool.

Many restaurants are within walking distance.

You are steps away from Kuhio Avenue where the "Bus" runs to take you around the island. A car rental company is also near by.

Beds: 1 King Bed, 1 Sofa Bed

About the area

No need to leave Waikiki. Walk to the beach where you can enjoy surfing, paddling, sailing or just relaxing. The "Beach Boys" can provide additional gear for your beach adventures. Shop at the many famous stores along Kalakaua Avenue. A simple walk to Honolulu Zoo, Kapiolani Park or take the walking tour of Waikiki Beach. Before sunset take your beach chair down to the Duke's Statue and watch the tiki torches being lit, listen to Hawaiian music and see the hula performed almost nightly. Sometimes you can go to "Movie at the Beach", where a big screen is constructed and many vendors sell food. Oahu has many other places to go. Take a tour of Pearl Harbor to visit the Arizona. Next door you can tour a submarine and the Mighty Mo! There are sunset cruises and Hawaiian luau's. Watch the waves at Pipeline on the North Shore and visit the town of Haleiwa. Also, you can snorkel at the famous Hanauma Bay. The Polynesian Cultural Center has buses that leave Waikiki and drive you to the Center to spend an informative day of many islands with a luau at the end of the day and the Polynesian play to finish your day. Chuck's Cellar is a favorite with nightly music and great Mai-Tai's for happy hour. Also, nightly early bird specials with full salad bar and fresh soup. Duke's is a quick walk to the beach. Upstairs from Duke's is a nightly favorite Hula Grill Waikiki.

“Pleasant winter retreat”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2017

Patty and Jim were very helpful and pleasant. The condo is conveniently located and yet not too noisy. We had a couple of problems that were quickly resolved. The Hawaiian King is an older condo building which has its own charm. The other guests were all friendly and down to earth. The place was clean, the bed very comfortable and we will certainly rent here again.

“Clean comfortable unit...”

Clean unit, our stay was comfortable. Only downside was the bar downstairs was rather rowdy, but we didn't hear any noise in our unit.

“Great place to stay in Waikiki”

Reviewed 29 Mar 2016

This unit is conveniently located half a block from Kuhio Avenue with bus stops less than a block away in either direction. Waikiki is an easy walk at only 2 blocks away. This is a clean well-kept unit with a sitting area, separate sleeping area, lanai, bathroom, separate makeup/dressing area and fully furnished kitchen. There are beach chairs and beach towels provided and lots of extras. The complex has a small swimming pool and a barbecue if you want to stay in to eat. Although it is located close to the "action," street noise was never a problem. We loved it and would definitely stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Owner's reply: Aloha Clara, Mahalo for the great review. Your stay was great and know you are welcomed back on your next adventure to Oahu!

“Hawaiian King 502 Review”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2015

The unit itself was comfy enough and clean. The decor was appropriate for Hawaii. I loved how everything was labeled as it helped to remind me what towels, etc were available and what went where. The AC was nice and cold and all the appliances were in great working condition. We were there for only 2 nights, so I think everything was well stocked before our arrival even though my agreement mentioned no toilet paper, etc. The location was perfect, right in the middle of everything-shops, beach, dining. The building itself is older and certain finishes seemed out-dated, but that's pretty typical in Waikiki. So no complaints really...great stay, awesome location for the price.

Owner's reply: Mahalo Megan for the review. Just to clarify the agreement does state that there is an initial supply of items, but not supplied for the entire stay. Please let us know when you want to visit Waikiki again.
