About the area

Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a United States National Lakeshore located along the northwest coast of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan in Leelanau County and Benzie County. The park covers a 35-mile (60-km) stretch of Lake Michigan's eastern coastline, as well as North and South Manitou Islands. This northern Michigan park was established primarily because of its outstanding natural features, including forests, beaches, dune formations, and ancient glacial phenomena. The Lakeshore also contains many cultural features including the 1871 South Manitou Island Lighthouse, three former Life-Saving Service/Coast Guard Stations and an extensive rural historic farm district.

“Beautiful”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2016

Other then the stove/oven and refrigerator meeting updated, this was the perfect spot for a family vacation! Everything was provided that we needed and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! I highly recommend that you purchase boats for your other rentals that are on the lakes, that really does add a desired value to return, and it makes people who rent your rentals want to come back etc.

“The Landing”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2015

This was our first experience in renting a cottage and having family come to enjoy. And we did enjoy even tho the weather did not co-operate most of the time. We had fun in the cozy cottage, playing games, laughing, making and eating good food, and just being together and cousins reuniting once again.

“Perfect family Vacations or Honeymoon!”

Reviewed 19 Nov 2014

The folks who rent these homes for vacations are as beautiful and friendly as the homes are. The homes are some of the best lodges and homes i have ever seen. Big enough to accommodate your whole family including your family dog. They have some great houses right near lakes with pontoon boats and other water activities. Game rooms pool tables. what a blast well worth it being near Traverse city and bear dunes. 5 stars amazing!! went there for my honeymoon. Delete review
