Other Vacation Rental Amenities
Our home is really unlike anything offered in the Hunter area and our attention to detail is what really sets us apart. Everything...from the recessed and designer light fixtures, hardwood doors, oak grand stair case, rich cherry wood kitchen cabinets, stone slate entry way, custom built local river rock wall, Persian oriental rugs, fine linens, one of a kind antiques, right down to the knobs on the cabinets...everything has been well thought out!

It's also decorated tastefully with treasures from our travels around the world including antique skis from Switzerland, a real antler chandelier from Jackson Hole Wyoming, wall sconces from Taos New Mexico, quilted wall hanging made by Amish in Lancaster PA, pottery from local artisens...the list goes on and on. All contributes to creating a distinct feel that splendidly mixes modern comfort with elements of style.

We promise you will not be disappointed with your stay. In fact, if you are like many of our guests, you will be back for more!

Clean house, easy to work with! Highly recommend!

February 12, 2013

My friends and I rented the home this past weekend from JoAnn and her husband and they were nothing but accommodating. I've rented homes for the past 4 years from this site and this was by far the best experience I've had! JoAnn's home was exceptionally clean and had all of the amenities you could possibly need - from towels and sheets to pots, pans, and any spice imaginable. I was very nervous about the drive as we were driving up during a blizzard and JoAnn made sure to have the property plowed for our arrival. She was even nice enough to email me the whole ride up with travel updates as she and her husband were headed up north for the weekend as well. I highly recommend this house and will be renting again!

Great retreat in the heart of the Catskills

July 31, 2012

This great cabin was the center for me and nine 30-something-year-old friends for a long weekend in the Catskills. We were pleasantly surprised to have all our expectations surpassed by this amazing house. We chose this place partly for its location to nearby Hunter Mountain, but ended up spending much more time than we had anticipated at the house due to the great amenities the house provided. The house is a beautiful A-frame structure with a wrap-around porch with comfortable patio furniture perfect for kicking your feet up and relaxing outside. We enjoyed several meals from the gas grill eaten around the patio table all the while listening to the various stations on the satellite radio. I can see this being a perfect getaway for all seasons - either the winter skiing months or the quieter summer ones. If you're visiting in summer be sure to consider the exciting zipline tours located at Hunter Mountain Ski Resort. They are one of the areas best secrets. We were very happy with the quality and cleanliness of the accommodations and would recommend this house to people for any kind of escape. Enjoy!

Musical retreat.

June 30, 2011

In November of 2010 I decided to change the course of my stressful summers and start a new tradition. I researched the internet for a spacious hypoallergenic home that would house a string quartet and give us pleanty of room to each have our own space, and room enough to fit four chairs and music stands. With a great deal of questions on my part and the most generous communications with the owner, JoAnn, I decided that this would be the place to have our Catskill Music Fest. Although we just played for fun, it was a fest to us as the atmosphere was relaxed, and perfect for enjoying the genius of Beethoven with no pressure. Each bedroom was unique, clean and quiet. The Master suite was a joy for me as it was like a nest on top of the house and had its own bathroom. The kitchen was so well equipped my friends enjoyed cooking elaborate meals with every pot or pan or spice at their disposal. Our trips into Woodstock Village were great fun and a terrific throw back for me as as I am a child of the 60s. WE returned to New Jersey energized and inspired. And looking forward to next summer. Many thanks to JoAnn and Scott who gave us a musical vacation we will always remember. My best, Peggy

Fabulous mountain lodge

March 15, 2011

This house is fantastic and has everything you could possibly need for a fun trip. It is very close to great skiing, lots of good restaurants (although we had a very bad experience trying to book a table at the Swiss Chalet, to say the owner is rude is an understatement!) and we really enjoyed chilling out in the house by the fire. JoAnn was also a joy to work with and extremely helpful. If you are looking for a mountain getaway then this is the perfect choice.

Excellent and Very Cozy!!!

January 3, 2011

A bunch of my friends, family, and I rented this beautiful cabin for New Years weekend. It was definitely a top notch experience! The place was awesome!!! It had everything you could need or want in it and Joanne's (the owner) attention to detail is impecable! Awesome for cooking and we were close to skiing at Hunter and Windham Mountain. Joanne was very helpful throughout the whole process with any questions I had and easy to get a hold of. I would 100% recommend this cabin and will probably be back again!

Great Bachelor Party

March 30, 2010

We couldn't have asked for a better place. For my bachelor party, I wanted to go camping, but most of my friends don't like roughing it. The cabin was a perfect compromise. It allowed us to do some hiking and other outdoors activities during the day, but still be very comfortable at night. The cabin had anything that we could want. It was very comfortable but still had some isolation. The owners were great. They responded to questions quickly and gave us plenty of information on the area. The nearby town had everything we needed. The satelite radio was just what we needed for some background music and if it wasn't for March Madness the TV would never have been put on. Overall this was a perfect trip and it couldn't have been so without the great cabin and the very efficient owners. One thing to note, if you are going to this cabin or any other in the area, cell service is horrible. However, since the cabin had wifi, we were able to make calls using our iphones since we had skype. You can use the land line with a calling card, but if you have an iphone or blackberry (and some other internet ready phones), just get a skype application it would be like you have great cell service. I can't thank the owners enough about letting us rent their cabin and being extremely effiecient and informative. It was a perfect weekend and we are already trying to find another time when we can do it again.

Our first time in the Catskills

August 21, 2009

My husband and I had a wonderful time with our friends at the cabin. We see why this is called God's country. I love the fact that it wasn't too far a drive from our home. The view from every side of the house was spectacular. It was convenient to any of the activities we wanted to do. The accomodations lent itself to many great time for great dinners conversation, games and laughter. I am hoping we can do this in the future again.

August 8, 2009

The house was exactly as described. All the things you'd need for great getaway to the catskills were already provided. The house is perfectly situated near all the attractions you could possibly want, ranging from kayaking, horseback riding, hiking, or tubing. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and was very efficient with the whole renting process. I'd recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away for a weekend (or more) to a beautiful house in the catskills.

Cosy Cabin out in the woods

July 14, 2009

The cabin with its terrasse is just awesome for having a cosy weekend out in the woods a little bit seperated from other houses in the surrounding area. You will find everything you need inside and the pool table at the ground floor is pretty fun though. The cabin is located in the middle of a beautiful area where you find plenty of possibilities to do some outdoor activity within a few minutes from the cabin. We liked the kayaking on the South Lake and downhill mountain biking at Hunter Mountain. The service JoAnn (the owner) provided was very gentle and the booking process was pretty easy. Also at the cabin everything worked out well and it was a pretty easy handling in regards to what to do when leaving the cabin at the end of the stay. It definitely was a positive experience from A to Z and I personnaly recommend a stay at the cabin.
