“Great little getaway”
I absolutely adored this cabin. It is hidden yet close enough to interact with events at Raystown Lake. The owners made sure we were well taken care of and provided everything a hotel would and more. My husband and I would definitely return to this cabin if we vacation near Raystown again.
“Beautiful home great location”
Beautiful home close to the marina and bike trails. The outdoor deck with fireplace was fantastic! We had a great time, just wished we could have stayed longer!
“A-Frame Rental at Raystown”
Wonderful A-frame near Raystown lake. Close to the lake. The cabin had a nice size bedroom with queen bed and a bunk room with full bunks! not little bunk-size beds. The living room was a nice area with a full refrigerator and everything you need to cook for yourself. The website shows a charcoal grill but it has a full gas propane grill on the deck for your use. For the price you can't beat it. It is in a very nice neighborhood which we actually took walks. Very safe area! would definitely go back again.
This was a nice and quiet getaway! Perfect for our family of four with all the comforts of home and a great price!
“Close to everything”
We went to Raystown Lake for the mountain biking, and we were so pleased with how close this cabin was to the two main trailheads. We could leave the cabin and be on the trails in about 5 minutes. It's also really close to the park and marina. The location of this cabin is superb! Another thing we liked about this cabin is that it is not surrounded by other rentals, which kept it very quiet and private. The grounds are gorgeous with a fire ring you can't see from the road and a beautiful deck overlooking the woods surrounding the cabin. We look forward to staying here again soon!
“mixed impressions; nice hosts!”
the living area is charming and gorgeous: love the big windows; love the floor. the bedrooms and bathroom are kind of the opposite. we chose to sleep on the pullout in the living room so that we could enjoy the moon. two surprises for us included the fact that there's no oven and no bathtub. with a toddler, we needed to plan better for that. we also never found towels so came home for those. (plenty of sheets and whatnot, though.) with adjusted expectations, i would probably stay there again (the host was really sweet when we locked ourselves out!), though hubby won't because the bathroom was so cramped (hard to for a tall person sit on the toilet b/c the sink is so close). love teh proximity to the mountain biking, and the views are nice too! we would like to buy this little place and do some work on it!
We had an awesome time and we are looking forward to renting from you again. We had plenty of room and the location couldn't be better. Even though there were 4 cabins on your land we had all the privacy we needed. We also appreciated the extra paper products supplied to us during our stay and Linda was a very pleasant person to work with. We are hoping to see you soon again. William Sherlock
“Home Away from Home”
This little A frame was quite comfortable and was well stocked with everything we needed. It was reminescent of the weeks I stayed at my grandmother's cottage as a kid. If you are looking for something modern with satellite and internet access, this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for a quiet relaxing retreat it is perfect! It is in a beautiful setting high in the mountains with a large yard and is so close to Raystown Lake that it only took about ten minutes to leave the house and have the boat on the water. For us this was the perfect compromise between camping and a hotel. The only reason I didn't give five stars is because the grill is more like a smoker so it takes forever to cook, and a few things could stand to be updated like the radio which had a defective volume button. These are things that are minor, and we just might be back next year.
“great house, wonderful host!”
The house is small, but comfortable. Catherine was great about our accommodations and made our stay very inviting and clean. We had a poetry retreat there. We spent the days reading at writing in the yard or at the nearby lake, made dinner in the galley kitchen, and at it at the great picnic table on the small porch next to the front door. Make sure to stop at Fat Freddie's barbeque while you are there!
“Very Nice A-Frame”
This is very nice, well furnished cabin. It is semi private and sits back off the road in a wooded area with a large grass front yard. The bathroom is very small, the bedrooms and kitchen were adequate, and the living room was large and comfortable with a small dining area next to the kitchen. There is a TV, but no cable and no working antenna. There is a DVD/VCR player. The VCR works fine, the DVD player however freezes up and stops playing. The cabin owner was a pleasure to deal with and has everything you need except for your food of course. We enjoyed our stay !!!! In our opinion, the cabin is most suited for a couple or a family with small children, it would not suit six adults, its just too small. So if your a couple or small family this cabin will work and its only one mile to the Seven Points Marina at Raystown Lake!!!
