Silver Plume, home of the George Rowe Museum, is a very small, old, rural mining town dating from the Colorado gold and silver rush of the last four decades of the 19th century.
Silver Plume is the closest town to Loveland ski resort - only 9 miles. Enjoy various winter activities in the winter (sledding, skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, ice skating) and numerous activities in the summer (water rafting, mountain climbing, biking, fishing... ). There are trails, lakes, parks, restaurants, shops, museums and many more places to visit.
The cottage has 2 bedrooms ; each bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and a pull out in the living room for additional sleeping place if needed.
Newly remodeled bathroom is our pride: it has a claw-foot brand new vintage style bathtub, a retro style new vanity, tile, and more..
The cottage is located right on the creek: just sit on the bench, listen to the creek, relax and enjoy watching the water rushing through...

Beautiful location, beautiful cabin. 3 BR, 2 bath. 2 queens and a single bunk. Good matresses. Scott met us and led us up 6+miles of dirt and rugged road. The quiet and beauty was wonderful. Everything we needed was provided - sheets, towels, kitchen gear. Very relaxed.

The house is cute and well supplied and warm. It is close to town but a bit of a walk if you want to go to the downtown area. Your neighbors are like 2 ft from you and greet you as you get there. It's on a very steep street and if it snows it would be hard to get to. The two beds are nice but the pull out couch is so uncomfortable you end up on the floor. She took $200 deposit and gave me a list of rules to make sure the place is taken care of so she doesn't have to do anything. She then charged me $25.00 because we didn't pack out our trash. We put it in the trash can on the back porch but apparently because no one is there to take the trash can to the curb after we were there we we're responsible for taking our trash and finding somewhere to dump it. Then it leaked in her maids car and so we are responsible. Then she said I should think of it as a tip for the holidays. I also had to contact her to find out when she was going to refund my deposit. I am wondering if she would have refunded it if I hadn't of contacted her. I say save yourselves the trouble and either rent a hotel room or go over to Idaho Springs Hot Springs. They have cabins. And much less hassle!
Mountain Goat Family & Mr. Fox
June 4, 2011
The Mt. Evans cabin was very clean , comfortable and so darling. We, four adults had plenty of room and we loved being so close to town that you could walk in 5 minutes. We also enjoyed the wild life - mountain goat family and the fox at night. It was also very nice to have the use of a washer & dryer. I would definately rent it again.
Perfect for skiing Winter Park
January 4, 2011
We are a young couple that took a short vacation to CO for some skiing and stayed in the Mt. Evans cabin. Great location on a quiet street. Cabin was roomy and warm with convenient off street parking, was stocked with dishes, coffee grinder, etc. and brochures about local attractions (check out Indian Hot Springs!). Less than an hour drive to Winter Park even in rush hour traffic. Great property managers to work with. We highly recommend!

This was not my idea of a cabin, but rather a tiny house in town (and not in or close to the "historic district" as stated - which is over 10 blocks away). I felt the description and pictures were intentionally misleading to the point of fraud. This would not be anyone's idea of a "vacation home" either! Not only does it sit right next to a mobile home, there is absolutely no privacy from the trailer's neighbors who have to walk right by your windows in order to get in and out of their trailer, which is also within an arms reach from your deck. The decor was what most people would consider tacky as well. There wasn't even toilet paper provided in this rental, let alone the promised "amenity basket". The busy interstate can also be clearly seen and heard from the house. This "Mt. Evans Cabin" is not a cabin and it's more than 30 miles to Mt. Evans! The owner is deceitful and even tried to keep our deposit because we complained about how misleading her ad was. Stay away from this one!
Thank you very much for everything including our anniversary champagne! Nice place to stay and close to everything. We walked into town. Thank you for all the right furnishings also. We really enjoyed our stay a lot!! Friday was great view day from the back deck and Saturday we had snow flurries almost all day. But, as I said we were close to town and walked in. Wonderful stay!!!
Thank you very much,
Idaho Springs is an awesome town and the cabin was perfect! It was easy to find, had nice off-street parking, friendly neighbors and was super-cozy. The deck out back was great for the dog to hang out on, and for us humans to enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the wildlife only a few feet away! The owners were great to rent from and made us feel right at home at the cabin! We definitely recommend it highly!!
L. & B.
The cabin is a clean, cozy, well appointed 2 bedroom getaway in historic Idaho Springs. It is a great base to get out and see the Colorado Rockies without the heat, noise and sprawl of Denver. (or the traffic). Everyone in town was extremely friendly. The cabin has all the amenities, but with none of the pretentiousness or plastic facade of the "big name" ski towns.
