Area Information
Idyllwild is nestled in the San Jacinto mountains among tall pines, sweet smelling cedars and Legendary rocks. The town has kept its "small town" atmosphere. Locally owned shops and restaurants are all you will find here. Come and experience the peace and quiet of Idyllwild.

Beautiful sunsets, nature trails and critters running about. Peaceful get-away on a quiet, woodsy street which dead-ends at the San Jacinto National Forest. So, you might say we are "at the edge." There is an abundance of wildlife, birds, squirrels, and often coyotes or raccoons. There is total quiet at night and clear skies to view the stars.

Idyllwild has perfect day hikes for the quick weekend hike, as well as the high country for the longer "over night" hiking journeys. We are located a mile from the Nature Center and Deer Springs and Suicide Rock Trails. You can walk to these places, but you may need a car to get to downtown Idyllwild about 2 miles away.

There are many great restaurants in Idyllwild and lots of shopping in the quaint boutiques where you will find many unique and unusual things. If you are outdoorsy, there are many easy trails throughout the area, not to mention National Parks. There are night spots with live music, wine tasting. As we say here, "Idyll-a-While" in Idyllwild!
