The barrier island where Barefoot Beach Resort is located is fortunate to have many locally owned establishments that are very popular with locals as well as tourists.
Whatever your tastes, you will find something you will love within a few miles of "Barefoot" - steaks, chops, French, Italian, Chinese, sushi, pizza, etc. Nevertheless, what tourists really are hungry for when they come to Florida is SEAFOOD! There are countless numbers of seafood restaurants all over this area.
Crabby Bill's has very casual surroundings and indoor picnic tables plus an outdoor venue for the most relaxing seafood dining - great grouper sandwiches, shrimp any way you like it, oysters, etc. plus steaks and chicken dishes. Great prices, too. Only a few miles north.
Salt Rock Grill is right... next... door! Named one of the best seafood restaurants in the country. It's a "do not miss", upscale dining experience with elegant surroundings that are exiting but not formal or "stuffy". Daily specials and oysters from all over the country and the maritime provinces of Canada are featured.
Lobster Pot is another wonderful experience only a mile south of "Barefoot". This is another of our favorites. Of course, lobster is a specialty but their other seafood dishes are mouthwateringly delicious, too! Lovely relaxing décor and great service are notable at the Lobster Pot.
The Friendly Fisherman, located 15 minutes south, in famous John's Pass Village, has the view, the fun, the FOOD. This long time favorite is on the John's Pass boardwalk where you can watch the boats and the dolphins in the waterway. The Friendly Fisherman has something for every taste and is priced right for a family's budget.
While relaxing in the white sand beaches of Indian Shores is a must, make shopping a part of your to do list. Enjoy the unique and creative atmosphere of our arts and craft shops and souvenir shops. Buy a great swimsuit to sunbathe in style or simple have a wonderful time at The Shops at Johns Pass. If wine is your passion, you can visit The Florida Orange Grove Winery, which is just a few miles away.
If you feel more conservative and prefer to visit one of our local malls, Tyrone Mall and Ellenton Prime Outlets are for you. Whatever the case, we have something for everyone in the beautiful Town of Indian Shores.
However, our most important beautiful attraction is the pristine sand on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico.

Reviews for this vacation condo rental in Indian Shores, Florida

I stayed at the Barefoot Beach Resort with a friend for one week. We were very happy with the extremely clean and spacious unit we rented. Our back door took us right into the pool and the river. We walked just minutes across the road to a stunning beach. Everything was close by. I would go back again.
