“Cabin at Hubbard lake”
The owner was there to meet us and get settled grate guy. Cabin built in the 40s not luxury but I like that. Lake is beautiful quite durning the week, my wife and I had a restful time. Would go again DonV
“House with beautiful view!”
We stayed at the property from 7/1-7/5/16. The house is very nice but the best part is the view from all the windows!! Gorgeous view of the lake. Easy access to lake as dock is right on property. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and appreciate that you let us bring our dog. He loved the place too! We would love to stay again.
“Retro -- But Very Quaint!”
There are only a couple of downsides to this property....doesn't really have a beach area for the kids, was a little hard to get down to the lake for my daughter, could easily be cleaned up and make it super nice. Water table was high so the dock was a little off. No air conditioning. It cooled down at night which made it good, but the no A/C was a little challenging at 9:00pm :). Overall, super nice property....lake views are pretty good, I rented the pontoon which was great for cruising around the lake and fishing. Wasn't great, but was worth renting for sure. The house is a retro style house, hasn't been updated in...hmmmm...50 years? BUT very clean and orderly. Has everything that you need for your vacation, plates, silverware, grill(s), plenty of sleeping for 6-8, and if you threw out a couple sleeping bags in the big bedroom, you could probably sleep 12. Our family enjoyed their time there, the fishing was pretty good, caught our fair share of bass, nothing large, but a good amount. The counter space was adequate, the tables/seating was adequate for everything. For the money, this is a great place, and I will definitely go back when I have the opportunity. My kids enjoyed themselves and had plenty of room in the house to crawl around. As far as recommending this place. I definitely would, any day of the week. I thought since memorial day weekend is usually one of the busiest weekends, that the lake would be packed with boats. That wasn't the case, it's a decent size lake to cruise around and fish without really being disturbed by sporting boat traffic. Overall, very nice. Thanks to Rose for her great hospitality!
Owner's reply: Thanks for the review Zach - the beach is an "ongoing" project which I hope to improve soon. The upside of that is all the great sandy swimming areas nearby in the lake! Air conditioning would be a nice addition also, but it is rarely needed up here in "The North Country"!! Glad you all enjoyed your stay & do hope you'll return for a visit soon! Rose Smith, Mgr.
My sister and I spent a week at the boathouse and had a wonderful time. The boathouse has fantastic views right over the water. The owners are right next door and very helpful and accomodating. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for a great week.
Owner's reply: Many thanks for your review, Linda! So enjoyed meeting you both and your sweetheart pup!! Maybe next trip you'll have time to use the Pontoon & really explore the lake, it has so much to explore including the public island, plus lots of fun "swimming spots"!! Hope to hear from you soon!
