Map of Islamorada in the Florida Keys
Interactive Map of Islamorada
Islamorada is a short drive down the island chain from Miami and mainland Florida. The ‘Village of Islands’ boast the largest Florida Keys fishing fleet and one would guess that being dubbed the "Sport Fishing Capital of the World" makes that possible.
Islamorada means "purple isles" and from a look around at the resorts and shops you can indeed see what they are talking about. The area has a focus on fishing but there are plenty of other things to do and see on your next Islamorada vacation.
Bonefishing and sailfishing are two of popular types of Islamorada fishing. There are many fishing tournaments held each year with these species as the target. These are catch-and-release tournaments, but there are plenty of other fish to be caught on the reefs and wrecks that are suitable for fresh dinner. Islamorada restaurants serve the freshest seafood and some will even cook your catch for a nominal fee.
Things to do in Islamorada
In addition to Islamorada fishing, there are plenty of other activities including water sports, kayaking, jet skis, parasailing, boating and sunset cruises. There are some great waterfront restaurants that are worth a visit if you want to see some of the local color of Islamorada.
Relax in Islamorada in the Florida Keys
If rest and relaxation is what you are looking for, Islamorada is the place. The entire Florida Keys will take you back to a place where you can relax and soak up the sun. The Village of Islands is home to fabulous Islamorada hotels, resorts and other places to stay where you can lounge on the beach or by the pool all day long and not have to worry about a thing.

We recently spent two weeks in this lovely home in Islamorada, Florida. The home was clean, spacious and well appointed. The kitchen appliances are all new and the kitchen is well equipped to prepare any type of meal. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the upper deck; the heated pool and deck area that contained plenty of outdoor seating and the quiet neighborhood. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a lovely rental property. The owners are to be commended for keeping the home well maintained.

Excellent location with a great view of the Canal. The Pool was the right size for our family and the Outside bar was Outstanding. The deck and dock were perfect for my 25' boat with ample room for my Grandson to fish for snapper. The Upstairs kitchen and living area with the high ceilings was fantastic. The downstairs bedroom was also great. The whole experience was truly enjoyable for my family.
If you love fishing, scuba diving ,snorkeling, we have great coral reefs in the Keys , Many diving shops offers trips to many areas... or having meals at restaurants that offer unusual food like conch chowder, Islamorada is your spot to reserve..... we are located on Plantation Key in Islamorada, Our is off of Snake Creek which brings you to the left to the ocean side, where in no time you are at Hens and chicken a dive spot or snorkel spot famous reef, just tie your boat to a floating ball and you can see also many fish coming out of curiosity... while you are anchored. At low tide on ocean side you have a private beach at the sand bar, just boat away to enjoy that private spot that only boaters can attain minutes away on the ocean side . ENJOY
