Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does Gore have a rental center?
A: Ski rentals are available at Gore Mountain for a small fee, and at other sporting shops in the immediate area.
Q: How many people can the cabin comforatably sleep?
A: Camp Kibby was designed for a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children ( on mattress cots).
Q: How should we dress for an Adirondack Winter?
A: Warm, layered clothing(not cotton!), suitable for the sport engaged in should be worn outdoors at all times. Mid-winter temperatures may drop below zero on some nights, while sunny days bring highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s routinely. Be prepared for winter driving conditions in the Adirondack mountains as snow falls frequently at these elevations. Have your auto prepped for winter driving with snow tires, blankets in the vehicle and always tell someone where you are headed. Cell phone service in the Adirondacks is spotty at best.
