Reviews for this vacation home rental in Kahuku, Oahu, Hawaii
Awesome beach house!
Awesome beach house!
June 20, 2016
Beautiful location with friendly neighbors. Beach is great and pretty isolated. House is spacious and clean. Loved hearing the waves from the bedroom at night and waking up to incredible ocean views. Looking forward to returning soon!
Great Family Getaway
What a lovely little hidden gem! Off a small unpaved private road and at the end of a grassy driveway sits a great little house right on the beach. Despite the impeding arrival of Hurricanes Iselle and Julio, our family decided to continue our vacation to Oahu and we are so glad we did.
This house was perfect. Sitting about 10 feet about a private beach, you felt like you were all alone on the beach. There are neighboring homes but we rarely saw anyone and never saw a single person while walking on the beach. Perfect! Great walking beach and our boys loved swimming in it. The sunrises were absolutely gorgeous!
Inside the house, it's perfect for families. Three bedrooms with fresh linens (2 rooms with TVs). The wifi and air conditioning was perfect. Kitchen fully stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, etc. BBQ overlooking the ocean and enjoy the local cuisine! There was one bathroom on the main floor and another accessed off the side yard. We hardly used the downstairs bathroom. The washer / dryer makes doing laundry easy and there is no need to pack tons of clothes. Great for families that appreciate laundry facilities.
This home is great for those that want a quiet getaway. It's not a busy town but there's a big supermarket and a few restaurants just 3-5 minutes down the road. It's a 5 minute drive to Turtle Bay (yes, we saw turtles!). The island is so small that it is quite easy to get everywhere! Try the ziplining at the nearby (1-2 minutes away) farm. Three hour trip and my boys loved it! Best ever!
Kathi was a great property manager! She made sure we had emergency supplies at the house because of the hurricanes. Luckily, we had less than 12 hours of rain and most of it was overnight. But we were prepared, if necessary. Kathi had great recommendations for some local sights to see.

great house and beach on Northeast side
Kathi was so nice in checking us into the house. She helped us with any questions we had.
The house was clean and the beach was a few steps down a slope. We spent many days walking the beach in both directions. Even saw a sea lion on the beach the last day.
The kids enjoyed the polinesian cultural center. Ages 12 and 9
Pearl Harbor was awesome, get your tickets ahead of time.
There is so much wildlife scenery to look at. The shrimp trucks nearby we great to eat at. Loved all the shaved ice.
Thank you we enjoyed out stay!

Fabulous, private, relaxation, perfect
My husband and I wanted to stay on the North Shore for a relaxing, just-the-two-of-us vacation, and this house was perfect for us! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!!
1. Location is fabulous!! The North Shore by Waimea Bay is super crowded, but in Laie there are much fewer people. That said, it is still conveniently located by a grocery store, a few restaurants (like Seven brothers burgers, so good!) and a superette for wine, beer and poke!
2. House, yard and beach are awesome! The back yard and porch were partially covered, so you could still sit outside even during the rain (which is did one night). also, the houses next door had guests, but the yard is shielded so you don't have to look at your neighbors. and the BEACH......amazing. No coral immediately in front of the house so you can swim, and you can walk for at least a mile in either direction and not hit a person. Super easy to run into the house for a drink or snack and come right back onto the beach.
3. The management: I must say I love Kathi, she was very helpful with instructions on how to reach the house (which was good, our GPS gave us different, longer directions) and helped prepare flashlights to make it easy to access keys and stairs (we arrived at 2am). She even let us have a late checkout (5pm) on our departure day to make up for the fact we had such a late arrival, which was very generous.
In short, we loved our stay and I will definitely stay here again the next time we come to Oahu.

This place is sooo wonderful and magical
I have stayed in many houses up and down Malaekahana beach and I have to say this one tops them all! The location is perfect and the views are absolutely stunning. It sits right on the beach and is nestled in a secluded area away from street and beach traffic. We saw whales breeching right from our front porch which was situated up higher than the beach offering a great spot to look out, relax, eat meals, and read. It is so sweet and cozy and has a great vibe. The pictures do not do it justice it is way better than it looks. Kathy, the woman in charge of renting the house is truly fabulous. She was so sweet, attentive, and made us feel right at home. She was always available and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The house was very clean and had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook our meals and feel at home. We highly recommend this house to rent for an enjoyable relaxing and magical vacation!

All we thought it would be and more!!
This cottage is not to be missed. If you are looking for the perfect getaway, this is a beautiful, alluring and private dwelling and location . It's always a shot in the dark whenever we rent vacation lodging, not knowing if the photos are really a good representation. After arriving the night before in the dark, we awoke to a beautiful sunrise and the greatness of this glorious ocean just footsteps away from the cottage. We opened every door and window, and there are many, to let the sea breeze flow through this very well appointed dwelling with wonderful sleeping accomodations, living and dining area, all of it, roomy and airy. We bought groceries for the most part to enjoy a seaside dining experience as we took in our quiet and peacfull of surroundings. We didn't want to leave this nest for we didn't think any restaraunt could top what we already had. So we were pleased that this recently updated, spacious and airy kitchen was fully equiped for cooking, etc. The lanai is sheltered by a large overhanging roof, so even on a rainy day we could enjoy the outdoors. We took many walks along this beautiful and lightly inhabited stretch of northshore beach and while among other things, we enjoyed watching local families relishing their time together there. We liked the fact that there were very few tourists and began to feel like locals ourselves. Wildlife abounds...and we were thrilled to see whales jumping and splashing right in front of the cottage (at a distance) every day that we were there. We also enjoyed visits from wild peacocks, mongoose, feral chickens, roosters, geckos and more. The foliage and flowers are amazing and the magnificent mountains are a very pleasant surprise. So, long story short, yes the photos are a very good representation of this property and yes, we would highly recommend this cottage as a vacation destination.
