“Vacation Rental”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2016

My family and I really enjoyed the stay at this property. The setting and the facilities are perfect for an active family. The location and weather was perfect. We would not hesitate to recommend this property to our friends and family. We would also keep this property in mind for future vacations. The staff was very friendly. The availability of kayaks, life jackets, scuba diving gear etc. was very much appreciated.

“Kona Sept 2015”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2015

We arrived to the house on September 8th and the pictures did not do the house justice. The first thing you notice is the amazing kitchen with the island stove. Then you walk out on the upper deck and notice the view. Ocean view for days; sunset and sunrise views is magical. The pool and jacuzzi were very nice. The master bedroom had a great shower and tub. The 3 rooms down stairs are separated by the pool table room and were very nice with comfortable beds. The only negative I had was no AC and that might be normal but it was very hot and humid when we were there. I would for sure stay there again what an amazing home for the 8 of us on vacation!

Owner's reply: Mid Aug - Sept 20, 2015 was the most horrible weather ever seen in Kona, so far. Flash floods weather front s- one after another into the island, which stops the trade winds, makes a lot of rain. Even the locals think it's the worst ever....this isn't normal.

“Our Own Private Mini Motel in Paradise”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2014

What an amazing place to stay. Every room is a master suite that opens right out onto the pool patio. It felt like our own private motel. Wake up in the morning, step out the door and hop into the pool. It just doesn't get any better. And the pool patio is a great place to sip your coffee and enjoy the view across downtown Kona and the wide open Pacific. There is a gorgeous living room, but we never used it, even when it was pouring rain, the pool patio was our favorite spot, a good portion of it is covered and it keeps you very dry. There were even some fruit trees in the back yard that provided quite a few snacks. It's close to downtown, but up in the hills enough that you feel relatively secluded. This is a great place for either a family or a few couples to stay while on the Big Island. I highly recommend it.

“Manitobans love Kona”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2012

Rooms were excellent ,pool was nice it could have been a little warmer, the kitchen was nice the laundry room was constantly used and the two fridges keep the beer cold, great backyard and the bbq was used often. The geckos added a little excitement. We were very close to a major hwy so we were within 5 minutes of great shopping. The "vog" was always present and thus created hazy conditions most of the time; the best ocean viewing was in the morning. the manager was extremely helpful with the concerns we had and arranged a home for us as we waited for our late flight. A great 16 days !

“Fantastic home, great views.”

Reviewed 17 Dec 2008

Our family of 10 was very comfortable in this well equipped and beautifully furnished home. Everyone loved the king sized beds and seperate bathrooms, the master bed/bath was especially nice. We really miss the great ocean views, peaceful mornings and fantastic sunsets. While the house was in a neighborhood we never once heard or even saw anyone while lounging in the pool area or beautiful back yard, giving a feeling of seclution. Highly recommended!

02/11/09 Our entire family of 10 loved the house. The view is fantastic, not just for the beautiful evening sunsets but early morning views while sipping morning coffee by the pool was one of our favorite activities! Great amenities, furnishings, beds, and baths made our stay truly memorable. Terrific location, great access to local attractions. While the house is in a gorgeous neighborhood, the property gives great privacy and a feeling of seclusion. We hope to get back some day - highly recommended!

02/05/09 We couldn't have hoped for a better experience. The owner thought of everything for our comfort...beach towels and toys, snorkeling gear, cooking tools...all the little amenities on top of the loveliest of accommodations. The neighborhood is quiet, and the house was well maintained and very clean...it is everything it's advertised to be.

02/05/09 There were 11 of us in our party. This house worked out great for large parties. We came over for Christmas and New Years and had a great time. Although there is not a dinning room table we did eat out side and used the table out there. It was really nice to have 2 dryers with all us washing our clothes. Yes there are a few gekco that did visit us the kids really thought they were cool. We had a great time at the house. Thanks again

12/01/08 The lay out of this home is perfect. Every bedroom has its own bathroom and a sliding glass door to the pool. We spent a lot of time in the pool. The geckos have wonderful coloring!
We really enjoyed our stay.

Thank You Tina!

11/17/08 WOW! What a great place to spend some time relaxing by the pool, tons of privacy, and minutes away from Kailua-Kona. We stayed with 8 other friends for 2 weeks. Plenty of room for everyone,(king beds, separate bathrooms, and TV's in every room) and the veranda was large enough for everyone to enjoy. The home is well equipped, located in a very nice area,(just high enough to stay comfortable in the hot of the day) and Tina is the best! We highly recommend this vacation home. And we'll be back.

08/01/08 What a great house for a large family! We took our 4 sons and they had a fantastic time. The pool was wonderful. The view is beautiful, especially at sunset.

02/17/08 Our stay at Nohealani was great! It is very clean and well equipped just like home. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms are quite large. It was nice to be able to lounge in complete privacy around the pool. It is a very quiet neighborhood and the view of the ocean was wonderful, especially the sunsets over the water.

12/10/07 The place was lovely, and perfect for several couples. The kitchen was fairly well-supplied with tools and dishes; it made the whole vacation a lot more pleasant to not *have* to eat out every night. A word to the skittish - the open plan of the house allows for lots of "extra houseguests" - the geckos were kind of fun but there was a very large spider who gave me quite a start one morning. Close to everything, but still private. The neighbors shared their star fruit with us as well!

Homeowner Response:
We left this guest comment in for a reason. There are screens on all the windows and doors to prevent pests from coming inside the home--but they only work as long as you keep them closed.

05/22/07 We had such a wonderful vacation based at this house. We loved having breakfast and/or dinner outside next to the pool. It was relaxing, often with a cool breeze, and the view of the harbor was a lovely backdrop. The kitchen and main living room was often a hub of activity for our family (if the kids weren't in the pool) and conveniently arranged. The master bedroom and bath were spacious and my husband and I felt pampered. We liked the fact that a grocery store, post office, and a popular snorkeling beach were nearby. If you have a car, even downtown Kona, Honaunau, coffee plantations, and Kohala beaches are a reasonable drive away.
