Description of the Kapalua vacation villa rental
This spacious family owned and managed home features hand carved furniture & fantastic 180 degree ocean views to Molokai. The remodel, completed in 2012, includes granite counter tops, tile floors, stainless steel appliances, & air conditioning. The two separated bedrooms each have a king-sized bed & adjoining expansive bathrooms. The master bedroom boasts a small wall safe for your valuables & a separate lanai overlooking the ocean. The views from every window are private & landscaped. The couch in the living room makes into a queen-sized bed. The 3rd, or guest, bathroom is complete with a tile shower & is accessible to your guests or for those sleeping in the living room. A Graco Pack & Play is available for the little ones. Three HD TV's, Wi-fi-, iPod dock, 5 telephones with free long distance (to the U.S. & Canada), cable TV, & a high speed Roadrunner Turbo internet connection keep you in touch with the world while the plush lanai furniture beckons the visitor to sit back to enjoy the ocean views & a cold beverage .

Fine beaches, judged by many as the best in Maui, are minutes away either by walking; your car; or the free, door-to-door Kapalua Resort Shuttle. Dennis and I are 70 years old. We can walk to Oneloa Bay, below the villa, in less than 5 minutes. Coming back up the hill takes a little longer!

Located at the end of a short cul-de-sac this front row villa has panoramic views of the ocean & the island of Molokai. In season whale watching from the lanai is a MUST (with provided telescope & binoculars). Although located just minutes from busy Lahaina, the villa is situated in a lavishly landscaped & peaceful setting.

Our end of the island benefits from the Trade Winds which you will find are very welcome! It's a short walk to the nearest Association pool with well maintained BBQ's & a covered outdoor kitchen/dining area (incl. refrigerator, stove, microwave, sink, library & seating area).

We would love to welcome you to Maui and our home.
Area Information
The villa is located next to world class golf courses (The Kapalua, The Bay, & the world famous Plantation) with many breath-taking vistas. As a guest of our villa we can give you a discount on two of the courses - just ask. The golfing academy is nearby for starting golfers or taking lessons.

The Montage or Ritz-Carlton Spas are minutes away. A small grocery store with a delicious deli are just around the corner.

Oneloa Bay is below the villa. To get to the beach you will cross a 5-mile beach walk connecting many of the Kapalua beaches. There are also walking trails a few minutes away from the villa.

Fine restaurants are located nearby including Sansei (considered one of the best sushi restaurants on Maui) & Merrimans.

Kapalua has 5 white sand beaches considered by many to be the best on Maui. The snorkeling is awesome.

The Kapalua Tennis Center is nearby, or ask about the free tennis courts at a nearby park.

Ocean equipment rental stores are nearby along with grocery stores, the Ritz-Carlton, McDonalds, Maui Taco, Mama's BBQ, the inter-island airport, and Maui Beer Company or Maui coffee tasting rooms.

Lahaina is about 10 miles away with all of it's historic tourist attractions & museums plus shopping centers, luau's, shows, & rental activities including zip-lines, scuba diving, kite sailing, deep sea fishing, etc.

Beautiful Villa, Perfect location, Amazing hosts!!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

Our stay at this Villa in Maui was the highlight of our Hawaii vacation! The location is perfect a very short walk to beautiful Oneloa beach and a small car hop or shuttle ride to several other beautiful beaches. We really enjoyed boogie & body surfing at Napili! Snorkeling in very nearby Honolua bay was amazing, the best snorkel spot we found between Maui and the Big Isle on our trip. The Villa was extremely well stocked, was wonderfully laid out, and was very private and relaxing. Everything was clean and well maintained, we cooked a lot in the kitchen and it was very well stocked. In all the Villa worked perfectly for our family w/ young boys (9 - 13) and our parents. The back patio was so convenient for lounging and for hosing off & laying out the day's swim & snorkelwear.. Joan and Dennis truly put the experience over the top with their thoughtfulness and tons of great advice leading up to our stay. We can't thank them enough for really topping off the experience with their hospitality. THANK YOU!! BTW, just some tips -- the Honolua store down the street by the Ritz was surprisingly reasonable in price for food , souvenirs & necessities, I guess it is owned by ABC now so prices were very similar. Also "Mala" in Lahaina was excellent for dinner (high $ but great & interesting food and view).

A great place with great owners. Far enough away from the main resort areas to give it a relaxed vibe, yet within 20 minutes of anything on the west side. 5 minutes walk from 2 great beaches, and 2 minutes walk to the pool. The owners go the extra mile to make sure everything is right for your visit, and even called us soon after arrival to make sure we were happy.

Fabulous villa

We loved our stay, well appointed home with many amenities. The lanai provided a perfect view of whales, we spent most of our at home hours viewing the sea -- gorgeous. Easy beach access and the Kapalua shuttle service was great. Had a peaceful and relaxed vacation. Thanks to all who made it possible!

Joan and Dennis, Thank you so much for letting us lease your beautiful villa on Maui. It was perfect for the four of us. Your view is gorgeous and we just got home late last night but already miss your island home! We hope we left everything as we found it. Thank you for the wine, starter coffee and nice note as well, so thoughtful! It was a wonderful vacation. Your villa is decorated beautifully and very well equipped, we were in want of nothing. Hopefully, we'll be able to rent from you again.

Thank you so much, Aloha & mahalo, Jane & Rich G

P.S. The whales entertained us all week and the weather was near to perfect as well

Wonderful Villa
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

My husband and I and another couple shared this villa for a recent vacation. It was wonderful! Very clean, beautifully decorated and appointed with everything one may need. The views off the Lanai were great and we saw many majestic whales. It is also conveniently located for walking on the Kapalua grounds. Golf, of course is a big draw if you are a golfer. The owners were very helpful and attentive to our needs and kindly left us a bottle of wine and some Hawaiian coffee. We would recommend this villa very highly and we hope ourselves to rent it again sometime. It really is a terrific vacation villa!

Fantastic location, view, and property in Maui
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

The Ridge is in a wonderful location in Kapalua, and an absolutely beautiful property that is spacious, immaculate, and well stocked. Dennis & Joan were fantastic to work with, and very responsive to all inquiries. We have stayed at several locations in Maui, and this was by far our most favorite. We look forward to returning with our family!

Beautiful upgraded/large 2 bedroom
★ ★ ★ ★ ★

From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome. We checked out the villa and went to bed after a long day of travel. I slept in the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The waves could be heard thru the cracked door to the lanai.
This condo is completely upgraded and is nicer than our own home;) We kept finding closets and more closets! And they were filled with everything you need for Hawaii and more! Boogie boards, beach towels/chairs, sand toys, inflatable rafts, first aid supplies, sunscreen. ..just to name a few. The kitchen was very well stocked with spices, coffee and many more. The dishes were beautiful.
I was completely in love with the master shower. There was no door. If you opened the small windows on top, you could see the lush trees and I felt like I was in a rainforest.
The pool was perfect for our 2 kids (11/14) and it was a short walk so they'd often go alone. The grill was next to the pool and was very clean. We didn't have to wait to use it either.
There are 3 beaches all walking distance (if you don't bring a lot of gear;) Kapalua Bay has wonderful snorkeling and a small parking lot. My hubby would drop us off with all our stuff and would walk back. The beach immediately in front of villa wasn't great for swimming as it was rocky in some parts.
Positives of this villa: Excellent value, well stocked kitchen and closets, can hear waves while sleeping (a must for us), upgraded and very large, nice pool and grill area, walking paths along beach, and can see whales from lanai.
Negative of this villa : There is a road in front of the villa, then another row of homes. The road can be busy and it started pretty early in the morning. We'd go to bed with the door closed and open it a crack later to hear the waves. Would close it once it started again. Hearing the waves is a huge deal for us, so that's why I'm listing it as a negative.
Overall, we were very impressed with the villa and hope to return again someday!! Thank you Joan and Dennis! !

Such a wonderful property and location. We have stayed at the Ridges before but this one by far exceeded our expectations. Everything and anything you needed was there.
Joan and Dennis left us a nice bottle of wine and some fantastic coffee for us to enjoy. We aren't sure if the TV's work (LOL) we didn't go to Maui to watch them.Joke, yes they work I had to stay up on the March Madness. We could see whales from the property thru out our stay. The property is located very close to the pool and BBQ that we may use of.The bedrooms and baths are very large and the beds put us to sleep nightly!!. The only thing that is missing from the Villa is YOU. Get to the beautiful Villa and enjoy it like we did. ALOHA
Thanks Joan and Dennis for providing a home away from home.

Best Vacation Condo Experience Our Family Had Ever Had! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
If you are looking for a beautiful, relaxing, roomy, well maintained condo for a family vacation in Kapalua, Maui, then stop looking and stay here!
Even booking this condo was a wonderful experience. We really enjoyed our interactions with Dennis and Joan throughout our Maui stay. They were so friendly, thoughtful and helpful from beginning to end.
The condo is exactly as pictured, but was, in fact, even larger than we expected.
Located in beautiful, quiet area with a great private shuttle service to nearby beaches or you can just walk. This truly is Paradise! Hope to be back one day!

We had a lovely vacation and the property was an excellent choice for our family. It's very close to the beach and we enjoyed walking all around the area. The house can really accommodate all ages and we appreciated being able to use the beach chairs, soft cooler, towels and the binoculars. We even saw a whale from the balcony. It was a delight and a treat to stay here. I would recommend this property for all. Thank you for making it so comfortable for our family.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How far away is the nearest beach?
A: It takes us 5 minutes to walk down to Oneloa Bay & we're in our late 60's. Walking back up the hill to the villa admittedly takes us longer. There are 5 white sand beaches in the Kapalua area. Many of our guests walk or jog to all of them.
Q: What makes our villa the best place to stay?
A: It is private & beautiful. We're outside of the busy, crowded tourist area, but it's only a 10 to 15 minute drive to enjoy all that they have to offer. The Trade Winds will generally provide cooling which you will find very welcome. We usually don't use the AC - just open the windows to the tropical breeze. You will be able to experience the feel, smells, and sounds of Hawaii. Plus there are NO nearby neighbors looking in your windows.
Q: What do most of your guests enjoy doing?
A: Most people enjoy relaxing, snorkeling, golfing, swimming, or hiking. The more adventuresome like deep sea fishing, helicopter rides, scuba diving, ziplines, parasailing, hang gliding, & more. There are shows, luaus, shopping centers, museums, surfing, & tours just for a starter.
Q: Do you provide snorkeling gear?
A: No. We have no way to sterilize snorkeling gear in between guests. There may be a few items left behind like scuba diving logs, etc. You are free to use anything you find in the villa.
Q: Do you have beach chairs?
A: Yes. We have a couple of short beach chairs & 4 of the taller ones.
Q: Do you have beach toys?
A: Yes. We have some sand toys for small children, plus there are boggie boards & noodles. The exact number of each varies as they get lost, destroyed &/or replaced by our guests.
Q: Will we have access to the Ritz-Carlton?
A: Our guests used to have access to the amenities at the Ritz. Over the last few years the hotel has sold numerous times. Each new management team changes the rules, but you are always safe using any service at the Ritz for which you pay. So the spa, the restaurants, the gift shops are always available. The swimming pool is PRICEY, but the beach below the Ritz is open to the public & they would be happy to have you order from their snack bar.
Q: Are there resort fees or parking fees your villa?
A: No. Parking is free in our covered carport. The Association pool is free & nearby. You will have no additional charges once you arrive except for your rental car; food; and activities.
Q: Do you have a property manager nearby?
A: Yes. Our property manager lives in The Ridge development.
