Description of the Karangasem vacation villa rental
Nestled where two fresh-water rivers run into the Lembok Straights of the Indian Ocean, Villa Campuan was selected as ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST's lead feature in the Exotic Homes Edition in August 2009 for its unique design, luxurious appointments and magnificent setting. Designed by Linda Garland, built by a team of Sumatran master carpenters, the owners spared no expense in making the home environmentally friendly( built with all re-cycled wood) and seamlessly integrated into the natural setting.

In front lies the ocean and behind towers Bali's main 12,000 foot volcano, Mt. Agung, the 'sacred mother of Bali.' To the north over the terraced rice fields is the Seraya mountain range whose cooling breezes blow in most nights. Thus the property is a 360 degree experience.
The villa is actually organized at the ocean's edge with 2500 square foot long house which serves as the living room/dining room house for the five bedroom villas, each with its own design and character.

Villa Agung, the master bedroom house, is another 2500 square foot long house with two bathrooms (her's has a bidet), a king-sized bed, living room area, two-person bathtub and both ocean and mountain view decks.
Villa Lumbung is based on a Sumatran rice barn design and houses one king-sized bed and its own full bathroom.
Villa Jasi is a smaller long house in the Sumatran style with a king-sized bed and full bathroom.

All villas come with the friendly staff of ten people: two cooks, three house caretakers, three gardners and two night security men there all day to meet your every need, cleaning, and providing a delicious breakfast provided in the price of the villas. Lunch and dinner can be arranged for an additional amount. They are all smiles and will climb the many cocoanut trees to give you some ayer kalapa muda, young cocoanut milk, or fresh-sqeezed orange juice, Bintang beer or sodas all day.
There are surf breaks nearby and surf guides can be arranged by the staff and are recommended to insure happy integration into the line-up. The local break, Pura Delam, can generate waves from two-feet to double overhead depending on the season and the swells. You can see the break from the living room/dining room house to tell what the swell is doing. It's a five minute drive away.

There is snorkeling right out front for lobster and sea life observation and excellent diving all over the area including wreck diving in nearby Tabanan. Bali is a haven for all water sports.
Facials and massages can be had at the villas with notices to the staff and are highly recommended and inexpensive. Also, recommended is to hire a car and driver by the week so that your freedom of movement is assured. It is NOT recommended to drive in Bali as the traffic behavior is quite wild and unpredictable. Cars and drivers are also very reasonable in cost and can be arranged before or after you hit the island.
The staff will pick you up at Denpensar Airport and drive you the 2 hours to Villa Campuan where your smiling staff will greet you warmly and show you to your rooms.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

October 2013

Just an amazing start to our Bali experience.Everyone took so much care and pride in their service to us. Ketut is on top of everything and couldn't be more pleasant to deal with

The food was just excellent, exceeded our expectation. And the ground keepers were constant in they'r up keep of the property.

We are so glad we found and chose Villa Campuhan.

October 2013

We truly had a wonderful stay at Villa Campuhan.Sometimes the expectation of a holiday is better than the holiday itself, but not in the case of Villa Campuhan. It was everything we hoped for and more. The location is wonderful, so peaceful but yet spectacular too.Always a cooling breeze.
So nice to be away from the noise of the main tourist spots. We enjoyed visiting the local towns on our scooter like Amlapura and Amed.
What we liked the most about Campuhan, other than the above:
- the food was amazing. We had lunch at Bali Asli and Alila Manggis, and we both agreed that the food at Campuhan
was better.More flavour somehow?!And so much! The portions were so generous. We were happily stuffed every day.
Ketut and the other lady chef(sorry,I forget her name) do an amazing job in the kitchen.Very good value too we thought.
-The breakfast is worth mentioning, because it was one of our favourite parts of the day.Lots of delicious fresh fruit, perfectly cooked eggs and home cooked pancakes or muesli or rice porridge. All enjoyed on our terrace with the sea view and breeze.
-the staff are very nice.So friendly and discreet. One of your staff also doubles as a great masseuse!
-Ketut the manager was very helpful. He arranged everything for us very efficiently.
-the yoga was very good.We both enjoyed our classes very much.
-we both enjoyed our massages very much as well.It was nice up in the tower, with a lovely cooling breeze late in the afternoon.Perfect.
-it's worth saying that we thought the prices for the yoga and massage were very good too.Too often we pass on these activities because the prices charged are usually to high, and not worth it.
-the property itself is very relaxing. The lovely wooden villas, gardens, pond and pool made it such a relaxing place to be.
We hardly left! And it was hard to go home.
We will be back!

Honeymoon escape in Real Bali

Loved this place! My (new)husband and I stayed here for 7 days and we were treated like royalty. It was incredible. We had breakfast on our patio every morning served to us at whatever time we wanted-whether it was 7am or noon. They arranged all of our "programs" such as climbing the tallest volcano in Bali.We had the entire resort to ourselves for most of our stay,so we literally felt like royalty. It was amazing. We were concerned about how far out it might be from thinks, but it was actually very close to everything we wanted. We rented motorbikes and traveled all around the area and saw the most incredible things. It was the real side of Bali.Seminyak is fun and touristy,Ubud is just touristy,This place and the location is relaxing and provides everything one could ask for.My favorite part is that they over delivered on what I expected to walk into-which is fantastic feeling
