The moment you walk into the cottage you travel back in time. The environment envelops you completely, the fresh pine fragrance, crisp and clean air and breathtaking view.
Time has been captured and put in beautiful frames and you can live those moments, be pleasantly surprised at every nook and corner. Borrow a book from the shelf and get engrossed with a steaming cup of coffee, no worries, no crowd, no noise but the sweet chirping of variuos varities of birds.........
... The main Kasauli is divided into portions, Upper Mall & Lower Mall areas. These are ideal for long walks. A lot of people just go up to Kasauli from nearby cities, as Chandigarh, for this long walk and fresh Pine & Oak Wood brushed air, which is quite medicinal in nature, specially for people with respiratory problems. This is one of the reason, why the TB Sanatorium was built by the British, here in Kasauli. The Central Research Institute, as its today know as was earlier The Pateur Institute which was founded in 1900 by Sir David Semple. Here the first anti-rabies vaccination was produced. The Institute also treats those suffering from bites, as an everyday feature.
Kasauli still has most of the colonial type cottages, which the British built, to create an English type surrounding. We have been able to convince a few of these Cottage owners to rent it to us, for our guests.
