Description of the Keosauqua vacation cottage rental
AMISH Country. Escape to Van Buren County in SE Iowa where history is rich, the people friendly and the country beautiful. Stay in this pioneer country church built in 1860 within walking distance to a 1700 acre state park, home of early Indian tribes, on the shores of the Des Moines River. Hiking, canoeing, fishing, horsebackriding, birdwatching, antique shops and artisan communities all within easy access. It is not unusual to pass an Amish horse cart on the roadway in this part of the country. Perfect retreat for artists, photographers, nature lovers, hikers and historians.

A beautiful hour and a half drive to Hannibal Missouri on the Mississippi, home of Mark Twain. On the Mormon trail and an hour drive from Nauvoo's living history center in Illinois. Fairfield is 25 minutes north - home of the Maharishi University, Vedic City and the Raj Health Spa a peaceful unique blend of small college town, victorian homes and agriculture.

Airports in St Louis, MO, Cedar Rapids or Des Moines, IA about two hour drive away; a day trip to Chicago.
