“Perfect for families with small children!”

Reviewed 3 Mar 2016

We stayed for five days. Two families with five small children. The house was perfect! There are toddler beds tucked into 2 large walk in closets. There were two cribs and a high chair. They even had baby spoons! There is an adorable pirate ship sandbox in the backyard, sand toys, kayaks and even life jackets. The house is walking distance to several great restaurants and the Key Largo aquatic center where we swam everyday. Martha is a sweetie. Will be back next year!!

“Fabulous Beach House”

Reviewed 23 Apr 2015

Our family of 8 stayed here and had so much room. The kitchen is well supplied with all the utensils you need. Big screen TV in the living room. Tons of kids sand toys and little swimming pool/sandbox that kept them busy. The dock is T shaped with lots of room with tables and seating and a fish cleaning station. Our guys fished from sunup to sundown, catching a variety of fish off the dock. We shared the dock with the other family that was at one of the other smaller houses behind the beach house. Had a great time with them, they were from the UK and enjoyed getting to know them. Took the kayaks out and went to the mangrove islands. There are 2 stairs to the water on one side of the dock and a walk in sand area on the other side of the dock where the kayaks and paddle board are. We swam everyday, with water shoes, because of the small jelly fish around. No one was stung. They have a party boat you can rent, which we did for a couple of days. Took it out and anchored and went swimming and then fishing. We were all thrilled with the many species of marine life that we saw throughout the week. The porch was great with lots of seating and the fans keep it cooler and keep the bugs away, if there are any. There are also two hammocks to swing the day away in. There's a Publix grocery store, liquor store and K-Mart a mile from the house in a plaza. We all agreed that this was a perfect setting for a fabulous and relaxing vacation and look forward to coming back at sometime.

“Better than expected!”

We loved everything about this house! We are normally very active vacationers and we decided to take a chance on a different type of vacation and spent a week with no plans. We had coffee every morning on the deck and my boys snorkeled and fished every day under the docks. We rented a pontoon boat a couple of days and were able to pick everyone up right at the dock. I would definately recommend this house but one thing worth mentioning is it's not very convenient for older or handicapped people who have trouble with stairs as the living space it on the upper level.

“Perfect place for a family of our size and ages.”

This place was exactly what we needed! We swam with the manatee within the first 2 hours we were there! Dolphins were swimming in front of us within 20 feet of the dock. We caught lobsters off the dock. We caught barracuda, sea trout, and all kinds of fish right off the dock. The accommodations were excellent! Nice pontoon boat if you want to rent from the owners. OH, and the owners are very good people. Al and Martha are the best! I would highly recommend this place. Thanks Al and Martha, we will never forget yall and your place 8)

“Worked out well for our family”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2014

Our party of 9 (including one child) was comfortable at the house - the "4th" bedroom is not really a room but an open area second floor with two daybeds and folding doors/walls to provide some privacy. Two other bedrooms with ensuite baths upstairs, one bedroom with adjacent bath downstairs. Two toddler beds and a crib in master bedroom (upstairs) closets were nice to see and would have been great if we had little ones in our family. The kitchen was well equipped, the living area spacious and good for games and dinners. Porch very pleasant, with overhead fans. The beach and view are very nice but jellyfish (not terribly stinging but still...) prevented our using it for swimming. As close as it is to the highway, even with much rather wild vegetation in between, we were surprised at how quiet and private it was in a densely developed neighborhood. Walking distance to CVS and some restaurants. Nice to have kayaks and minimal fishing gear available. The appliances, etc. are aging (icemaker not working, internet Wi-Fi sporadic, and washing machine very clunky) but Al and Martha are responsive on maintenance and helpful when needed. Overall a good experience.

“Great Vacation Home on the water”

Reviewed 2 Dec 2014

We just returned from a quick trip to this property had an amazing yet relaxing time. The house was clean and comfortably slept 8 adults and 1 child. The location is perfect with easy access to great restaurants, diving and fishing. The Best part is the view and access to the water. My son spent most of the time on the dock catching fish for the first time. I highly recommend the bayfront beach house.

“Great family place”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2014

We rented the three houses for a family wedding for a week. The 4 bedroom house is spacious and very comfortable for families. It was quiet and we had plenty of room for everyone. Our daughter's wedding of 100 was too large to hold on the property but it was almost next door so we were able to work on flowers and centerpieces there at the Alamar. My daughter and the bridesmaids got ready in the house and the photographer took amazing photos on the property of the wedding party before the ceremony. We rented a boat for fishing and docked it at the Alamar, we spent the days after the wedding kayaking, fishing, snorkeling and sitting on the dock watching amazing sunsets with family. Martha was very helpful and accommodating, we couldn't have had a better place to stay. Everyone who stayed had a great time and those who stayed in other places commented on what a beautiful place we had for the week and several are planning on bringing family back in the future to the Alamar.

“Great Vacation Spot!”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2014

This is the second time we have visited this property and we will definitely be back! This property really is the greatest location! Beautiful sand beach. Extremely well maintained spacious home and grounds with everything you need. The bedrooms are large with very comfortable beds and provide lots of privacy. Great back porch leading to the sand and garden and your own private dock with boat ramp. It's a very quiet relaxing location and is in close proximity to shopping and restaurants.
