Steps were a pain!

February 23, 2015

The condo itself was nice with a nice ocean front view. Comfortable furniture, extras available for use at the beach like ice chest, chairs, toys but we didn't use them. We were not aware at the time we booked that this condo had 15 steep stairs as the only access into the condo. And another set of 13 or so steep stairs into the master bedroom. For a couple our age, this was so hard on us for getting our luggage up the stairs and in and out use daily. We enjoyed the balcony and location of the unit but not the access of steps. Arrived too late to check in so the information received beforehand to gain entry in the unit was great. Getting a warning ticket on the car for parking without a permit was not. Couldn't check in so we didn't have a permit to park the first night. Disappointed that the pools were not heated. Although no fault of the rental unit, the ocean was also too cold to swim in February so we had a Hawaii vacation without any swimming.

Christmas holiday in Maui

Overall, this was a nice place to stay. A little overblown on the ocean beach view - front, as it is about 100 yards away and there is a lawn and pool between. The condo was nice and as expected from the photos. The screen on the patio door was torn loose, that was a minor annoyance. The parking area where you enter is dated and a little dingy. Parking was kind of crowded as well, as there were some spaces that were taken by construction equipment. The building is on a very quiet street and the grounds are lovely. The pool tended to be monopolized by little kids, though. Overall, we had a great time and would consider booking again.

Perfect Condo for an amazing vacation!

August 11, 2014

We couldn't have been happier with the condo and the Honua Kia resort. The condo had everything we needed, from blender for smoothies to boogie boards for fun on the beach. It was quiet and centrally located to everything the resort has to offer. The resort itself was amazing. Duke's restaurant had delicious food and drinks. Mesha, at the conceriege desk, was incredibly helpful. We told her what we wanted to do and she helped point us in the right direction, made our reservations, and told us how much time we needed to get to each place. A huge THANK YOU for all her help! The beach is just a few steps away from the 4 swimming pools. It never seemed crowded, all though there were plenty of people around. Rent an umbrella on the beach and snorkel gear at least for one day if not more. We spent at least 2 full days at the resort and beach area. The spa was amazing too! Very polite and warm staff. Grocery store and ABC store just a 15 minute walk away. Try the parking lot pizza and street tacos right next to ABC store - it was an island treat! We would come back to this resort and stay in these rooms every year if we could!

Great location

April 6, 2014

This property was in a great location being on the beach and close to shopping and restaraunts. It was a little dated, but very clean and there were extra things provided like beach towels, beach coolers and chairs so that was super nice. It was noisy at times because firsth the walls are super thin, and second because you need to have your windows open because there is no air conditioner. They had super strict rules and people who weren't real pleasant about letting you know about those rules because you may have forgotten them. Overall though it was a good experience.

Overall the site was a good value. Location: It's not on the beach but across the street. There's a small protected fish pool/beach across the street perfect for small children. It's a few miles up the main drag in Kihei from the popular beaches and shopping areas. Room: Accurately represented by the sites photos and spacious. Pleasant interior and kitchen had what we needed. The mattresses were horrible and we actually preffered the floor. Would not recommend for people with back problems. Cleanliness: It could have been cleaned better. Though it wasn't bad it's about as bad as I've seen from a hotel/condo. Still cleaner than my house:). For the cost it was a good value for us and I would stay here again.

Nestled in quiet Maalaea Bay, this condo is within easy access to everywhere on Maui; it was our first time in this part of Maui and we will be back. Well appointed and well equipped, this unit had everything we were expecting and more. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the patio with an afternoon drink and watching the whales in the bay.

We were pleased:)

February 16, 2014

We stayed a week on Oahu, then a week on Maui - 1126 Weilea at The Palms. We were sooo much happier with this condo than our condo on Oahu! We had so many things wrong with the place on Oahu. We we were pleased when we arrived at The Palms! We had problems with the electrical in the master bath, but they dealt with that. We liked the fact that we could grill and eat in sometimes instead of eating out all the time. The pictures are deceiving for the ocean view though. It's way over the tree tops to see the ocean. The pictures I see with this email, not at all correct. But the pictures we saw originally, are true. You can walk to the beach, but carrying beach bags, chairs, etc., it is quite a walk. We also liked the assigned parking which was included in the price. Washer and dryer were small but very handy to have! Another nice thing - condiments or whatever prior guests left were left there - instead of all thrown out, such as salt & pepper, oil, mustard. So check frig and pantry before shopping at Safeway. Master bed was kind of weird - it was sqweeky or something. They had probably a water proof cover on, then a memor foam layer, so they rubbed kind of loud;) Overall, we were pleased with it though!

Unbelievable!!

January 13, 2014

When we walked in all we could say was WOW! It is such a wonderful location for staying in Maui and such beautiful accommodations. Was able to accommodate our entire group. Could not ask for anything more. Staying here enhanced our vacation so much. We can't wait to get back!! Thanks Cheryl for contacting us to make sure everything was going well. Thanks to Jim as well for coordinating the visit. We saw whales breaching on the shore very close to the property and enjoyed the walks on the beach as well. Do not hesitate to stay at this condo if you have the opportunity. Very quiet could not hear any of the neighbors. We had 2 cars and we were able to park the second car very close to the unit which was a wonderful benefit. Thanks again!!

Just as advertised

A great location and this condo complex was kept very nice and the landscaping was beautiful. The 2 bedroom/2 bath condo was perfect for two adult couples. It is in Kihei which was a great location, just short distance to Wailea or Lahaina. Anything you needed was very close by. Will definitely stay here again! We spotted a whale in Ma'alaea Bay one morning from the balcony. So cool!

Noise Noise and more Noise

March 19, 2013

Our first night, we sat on the balcony expecting a relaxing evening enjoying the ocean view. Much to our shock, below our balcony is a restaurant. There was a loud party that evening which we were told had over 30 guests celebrating. In the morning, I talked to the manager who said he found the noise to be excessive. What a horrible welcome and start to our vacation! Every night, we heard people eating and chatting. We only got peace and quiet after 9:00 p.m. each evening. What is the point of being on oceanfront if we can't sit on our balcony and enjoy it? This is unacceptable. We paid good money for this rental and acted in good faith. We should have been forewarned and it should have been disclosed that the condo is directly above a restaurant and offered a choice of another location. We emailed Waikiki Oceanfront Rentals who brushed off our claims. This place has great views, but we definitely will not stay there again or book with that company.

excellent value

We would like to take this opportunity to say how much we enjoyed our stay at your condo for the past month. The plus was that it was centrally located to all of the attractions that we wanted to visit. We especially enjoyed watching the families with young children having such at great time at the beach right beside the condo. We saw whales almost on a daily basis and saw turtles a few times as well. The property is kept pristine by a very dedicated staff. We appreciated the fact that persons(of all ages) using the pool were respectful of the rules and the restaurant closed their doors at nine every evening. It would have been helpful to have an information booklet letting us know where the nearest grocery stores are (especially as we were extremely tired from our flight and it took us some time to realize/find that all we had to do was turn right and go a few blocks down the road for supplies). Would have appreciated some barbeque tools and a dustpan, but truly those were the only things we found that we needed. The renovated bathrooms were a plus. Thanks once again.

Owner's reply:

All that information was on your welcome sheet on the kitchen counter, guess you missed that.

Very nice stay

December 10, 2012

We loved the ocean / beach view (absolutely beautiful) and sleeping to the sound of waves every night! Unit very clean when we checked in. Washer and Dryer in unit was very helpful, with washing detergent provided. Complimentary Wi-Fi was useful as we used it to book a tour online (and took advantage of an online promo price) while we were there, and we could keep in touch with family back home with the internet. We didn't cook in the kitchen, but made breakfast everyday. All utensils that we needed and cups, plates, etc. were already in the kitchen. We are very happy with this unit. Location is good too, not too far from everything. The bathrooms were renovated and tastefully done, but bedrooms were a bit old. For improvement, an update on the bedrooms and more full-size towels would be good . The beds were comfortable enough for us.

Condo 409

July 8, 2012

The condo was awesome. The interior was new, the bathrooms, towels, pool towels, everything. The beds slept great (we loved the two bedrooms) and the view was just perfect. The condo is on a very central place on the island, so to go anyplace does not take a huge amount of time. It is not in a 'nightlife' area, but for us, with two little girls, that was actually nice. No nightlife noises to deal with at bedtime, or late night party goers to deal with in the building. The ancient fishpond, next to the beach, was great for our girls. At low tide, they had a great time looking for shells and crabs and running around in the shallow water (the waves in the ocean were a little to strong for them), and in high tide they good swim a little. The pool was nice, parking plenty and, again, the view phenomenal. We had a great time, and would come back in a heartbeat. We certainly recommend this condo to anyone who is looking for a place to stay at beautiful Maui!
