“Girls Weekend”

Reviewed 24 Oct 2016

We rented this house for our annual Girls getaway. What a treat The house is perfect for cooking together in the large kitchen, then moving to the dinning area for a relaxing meal. The rooms are set perfectly and everything you need is about 15 minutes away. The serene setting allowed us to enjoy mornings on the pier and evenings on the deck. Not one complaint. We felt at home and welcomed. We go away 1 time every year and usually in the woods. The addition of being on the water added an element we had been missing. We recommend this property to anyone who is looking to enjoy some time together, enjoying life and nature

“Perfect fall getaway for families”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2015

Three families met at the property and we enjoyed the weekend trip. First of all, the house has all the amenities that one could ask for. It even had a baby crib, high chair and a monitor too. But the highlight is the backyard. It is huge, with a large deck, picnic table, hammock, firepit, and the dock. The view from the dock at sunrise and sunset is just speechless. There are outdoor amenities like canoes and bikes that are readily available. I would highly recommend this place for families or even friends.

“Relaxation at it's best”

Reviewed 28 Oct 2015

This is just what we were looking for. 30 to 60 minutes from ANYTHING, dock to sit on, boats to paddle and a hammock to nap in. While there were no sidewalks for dog walking, I didn't feel in danger walking along the road - and there were great loops.

“Another great year”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2015

Again, this was our 3rd year staying here. It is a great place for relaxing and enjoying yourself. One of our friends that came for the weekend, caught 15 fish. He was thrilled. We found some new places to eat around there also. Bill, was his usual great self. All in all it is a wonderful place for vacation.

“Beautiful views and location”

Reviewed 15 Jul 2015

We stayed with 4 adults and 4 young children. The kids absolutely loved the yard, dock and being right on the water. The 4 year old boys were entertained for hours with the fish and snails you could find right on the shore. Really great yard for kids to play in.

“Pterodactyl Sightings”

Reviewed 26 May 2015

I rented this property twice, the first for a family reunion, and the second for a quiet family get away. We absolutely love it. It is very quiet, scenic and relaxing. The first time we had an awesome time fishing. We caught about 30 fish, croakers, sun, perch, and a red looking fish. Just enough for a good fish fry. One of my dogs loved diving off the pier. The other we had to throw off, once back on shore she would walk back over to us and we would have to pick her up and throw her back in the water. Perfect for kayaking and canoeing, bike riding all of which are supplied by the owner. One morning while fishing a pterodactyl (Pelican) flew on the table and ran my 3 uncles off the dock and into the house. One said it was a pterodactyl, it was hilarious. Go for the relaxation and the potential pterodactyl sightings. This is a Perfect place to make continuous new memories. Will absolutely rent again. Thanks Bill

Second stay here.. I love this place. I fish and this place has a lot to offer .. Area is great, creek is deep , nice long dock that you can see Bald Eagles glide to the water and snatch lunch.. They are all over.. House is very cozy . Plenty of room and kitchen area is wide open.. Oct 17 2014 we caught all sorts of fish from white perch to flounder and Stripers.. Short trip to mouth of Yecomico and you will see on hell of a sunset.. It was blazing skies every night as we ended the day of fishing.. I promise if you want to get away , even for the weekend .. This place has a cure for all ailments... Bill the owner is Fantastic and will take care of you ... Jay Hatfield

“Perfect”

I cannot express how wonderful our family getaway was at Shannon Point Lodge. The house was very clean and had plenty of room. The included recreational items (boat, kayak and canoe) were a hit. The area was very laid back, stress free and relaxing. I will definitely stay here again and I have recommended this rental to two others already.

“Great Family Retreat!”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2014

Bill was a great host. He showed our grandsons how to bait a crab trap and hold a crab. We even used his private pool one late summer afternoon. There were kayaks and a canoe for out use. We had several campfires in the evening. It was a lovely location with a private backyard and dock.

“Peaceful Retreat”

Reviewed 31 May 2014

My husband and I wanted to spend some time on the water and this was the perfect house for us to rent. It was decorated very well-extremely unpretentious-and totally comfortable. We ran out of gas for the grille and Bill, the owner, came immediately-within minutes of my text to him. We couldn't have asked for better service! The house came with four kayaks and a canoe, Life jackets, Bicycles, a baby crib +stroller, playpen and high chair. Their was a crate and small dog pen if you have animals. We visited a small winery about 15 minutes away and rode around exploring the beautiful area part of one rainy afternoon. We plan to bring our entire family back in the fall. It's the perfect site for a family reunion.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with us. This was a very enjoyable and memorable 60th anniversary for our folks and us. The kayaks were a wonderful treat - we really played hard and had many laughs. Your wild life was wonderful to watch. Loved the fire pit - had a few s'mores. Wonderful vacation! Thank you for all your little touches.

Thank you for a great time, the fun, the fishing, the rain. The people were wonderful. We look forward to making this a vacation spot to be enjoyed year after year. There are few places that when you turn the door knob the pressures are instantly lifted. The smell is so beautiful. There are no words to write on this paper to let you know how much we appreciated your family opening your home to our family.

Much Thanks, Swan Family

Thank you for having such a beautiful lodge we were able to call home this past week. We live on the Ohio River where such folks are considered "River Rats"! So it has been a very good change to be "creek critters" the past week. We have enjoyed the quiet because we have been away from 4 very active dogs, river traffic and a nearby train track. The occasional "plunk" of a fish in the creek has even sounded restful. This place is truly a gem!

Fondly,
The Trampes
