Description of the Lagarde Fimarcon vacation guesthouse rental
Ivy-covered 13th century chapelle, beautifully renovated as a guest house on two floors, hidden behind Hameau de Lançon in two hectares of landscaped gardens with pool.
This is a romantic hideaway back from the road. Follow the lane through the ancient farm, park in the old carriage house, and you can leave the world behind you.
Wake to the sounds of birds, the bubbling fountain in the courtyard. La Chapelle aux Roses stands in a protected circle of lovely old stone buildings: 18th farmhouse, an old bakery, a pigeonnier - ornamented with climbing roses and beds of lavender. Breakfast on the shaded terrace at your front door - or take yourselves out into the gardens, find your favorite corner in the two hectare landscaped park.
La Chapelle aux roses, has all original stone walls, the heavy oak double doors at its entrance, high-beamed ceilings in every room, there is a kitchenette under the stairs, a full bath with large bathtub and shower. Attractive living/dining area downstairs with beautiful working fireplace, opens out onto spacious two level terra cotta patio and formal garden. Large sunny bedroom is located on the second floor, overlooking the gardens. King-sized bed can be separated into twin beds.
The pool is standard 10m by 5m, with graduated shallow end, bordered by cedar trees and English roses. There is a terrace with loungers, parasol and pool furniture. It is shared with owners between 9:30 and 11:00 am, then it is yours alone. The pool is set into the garden a short walk away from the houses, you are alone with the birds, ornamental trees and flowers, the sounds of nature.

Area Information
La Chapelle aux Roses is situated in a hamlet, "Lançon", one kilometer out of historic Lagarde-Fimarcon in the midst of sunflower, wheat fields, garlic cultivation, "Melons of Lectoure", it is an agricultural region through which the Way to Compostella passes on its way south. The chapelle was one of the Hospitaliers along the original route, a refuge for travellers in its earliest incarnation, as it is now.
Lectoure, which dates back to Roman times, is 15 minutes away, shining on the hilltop, La Romieu, also six km from us, marked by the 2 striking towers landmark Collegiale (1000 AD). The landscape is dotted with picturesque villages, winding country roads, abundant wildlife, ancient churches, stone crosses, rolling countryside and old oak forests.
Traditional country markets take place in a different village every morning of the week. Village fetes, local cafés and auberges, wine-tasting events, bakeries, butcher shops, brocantes, music festivals, photography and painting expositions, Montgolfieres, night markets, and river boats, as well as the Lectoure Thermale Centre for Wellness, make the Gers attractive to all types of visitors.
This is the historic Coeur de Gascogne, and one feels the presence of the troubadours, D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers at every crossroads - to come here is to take a step back in time.
