The main house had the most spectacular view. I enjoyed waking up to the sunrise and lounging on the chairs. I think if the living room was just bigger, it would have been a more enjoyable experience. Felt like everyone was crammed when it was "family" time in the house. Pictures made it look a lot bigger than it actually was and there were no square footage to compare to. Not sure if the Rice Cooker belongs to the owner but it was in a different language. Yes, we tried google translate before contacting the owner and property manager but was not successful at all. There were not enough blankets and pillows for the sofa sleepers. Not to mention the sofa in the Ohana was not in the best shape and could be replaced. Two of the guests who were supposed to sleep on that sofa couldn't because once you took out the bed, there were dirt underneath. The mattress wasn't thick enough to combat the metal wires underneath as well. Had to re-do some sleeping arrangements. Other than these minor setbacks, the house was beautiful and centrally located. Loved how it was close to everything, at the same time, the surroundings were nice and quiet.
This was a perfect location. Easy to get to anything we wanted to do. Beautiful views. We saw whales breaching from back yard. Owners were extremely nice. Cottage was very clean and had everything we needed and more.
“Beautiful house and view for a bargain price”
Cynthia, the owner is quick to respond and is very helpful. Spoke to Frank, her husband, briefly on the phone, he was very nice. The house was as described and better than expected. The property manager was quite a guy and fairly attentive to our needs. Only slight con is there was no pool like many other vacation house in the area, but you don't need one because there's a bunch of beaches nearby. There's lots of extra beach stuff for you to use (ie chairs, umbrellas, cooler). We actually left a nice Tommy Bahama umbrella, maybe even a chair or two and also boogie board that somebody just gave us on one of the beaches we visited. How nice right? I think they might have thought we were locals. The view is beyond amazing, other than the tractor that appears to be a permanent fixture in the neighbors backyard. The whole house is comfy and has just about everything you can possibly need on your trip. They even had some walkie talkies that came in handy on the Road to Hana or Haleakala. Heads up if you do tend to get loud in the evenings as sound carries fairly well in the hills of this neighborhood. Just keep it down by staying indoors if you're loud. I'd easily stay here again when I come back to Lahaina.
