Lake Anna offers swimming, sailing, boating, world-class fishing, and multiple annual triathlons. Surrounding attractions include vineyards, antique shopping, golf, historic sites, theme parks, and hiking. To get the most out of the lake, one can rent a boat from various local marinas and businesses. Sailboat enthusiasts will prefer the more open, wide water appeal of the southern end of the lake (note: the lake's several bridges, including the main 208 bridge, are too low for a sailboat to pass beneath).
Water sports junkies tend to enjoy the mid-lake area, while the fishing crowd has lots of hot spots in nooks and crannies of the northern "on Golden Pond" end. Anglers fish for over 30 species of fish, including large mouth bass, striped bass, walleye, catfish, crappie, bluegill and white and yellow perch.
Weekly fishing leagues keep our full time and local residents happy while sanctioned tournaments bring visiting anglers from afar. Lake Anna is very conveniently located. Washington, DC is only about an hour and a half away. It's only about 30 minutes to Fredericksburg where the Virginia Railway Express runs daily to Washington, DC. And, a drive of less than an hour will also get you to Richmond or Charlottesville. If you haven't yet been to this wonderful place, it's time that you visit us. And if you already have ... we hope you'll come back.

Reviews for this vacation home rental in Lake Anna, Virginia
AWESOME HOME & VACATION
February 20, 2014
What an AMAZING vacation home. My family and close friends rended "Straight to the Point" for a weekend to celebrate my brother's birthday in Feb. Even though it was off-season and quite cold, we had a fantastic trip. I HIGHLY recommend this house anytime of the year. We will definitely be back this summer :) Thank you, Jerold!

We rented the house on Lake Anna for a family reunion/Thanksgiving week celebrating a graduation and holiday. We had 15 people and the bedroom situation worked well. The home was beautiful but seating for large groups for a meal could have been better. The outside grounds and property were beautiful and we actually played volleyball and tennis at the very end of November. The home served us well. Thank You..
Aesthetically Pleasing, Functional Disapointment
May 1, 2013
From the photos I was so excited to visit this home, but oh dear. Having stayed at rental properties before I had certain expectations. The kitchen, one if the most utilized rooms in the house, was a dysfunctional mess. Nothing was labeled therefore finding simple utensils was a constant challenge; perhaps because I couldn't find anything it felt under stocked with the basic tools. Moving to the bathroom situation; if the house sleeps 14, shouldn't the water heater accommodate more than 4 people!? I couldn't even boil a pot of water because I couldn't find a pot. The couch was super comfortable and allowed all of us to enjoy a late night movie; additional speakers would have helped in such a large space as well as a functioning fireplace. Outside on the deck, patio and down by the fire pit every...single...chair was broken...FAIL. The house functioned as though the owners just moved out one day and decided to rent it without thinking it all the way through. I wouldn't rent there again.

What a great vacation.

It was a beautiful place. So nice and clean. Better than any hotel. There was no reason to leave the property. What a great time of year to go. No one was around.

The house was absolutley perfect for us in every way. You dont need to leave the property to have a most enjoyable stay. The only negative comment is that all the beautiful picture windows were extremely dirty with cobwebs, spiders and dirt
Amazing house with plenty to do

This house was absolutely wonderful! There was plenty of space and the kitchen/living room made for easy entertaining. We liked how the bedrooms were split up so everyone had a large amount of their own space or even their own floor floor. The master bedroom and bathroom were extremely nice! The group especially enjoyed all the activities that the grounds had to offer, including basketball, football, putting green, and fire pit. I imagine this would be a great place for people with older kids that are able to entertain themselves for hours outside while parents can sit by the fire pit or deck and still have a close eye on them. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and look forward to returning again! Happy New Year!

Va's Lake Anna was Well Worth the Trip
August 9, 2011
My group travels together every year. We range in age from 3 months (she is new) to mid-eighties. We are "tried and true" laker-s. No beach or sand, please! Lake Anna was lovely. The White Mts. have always been our destination of choice, but we are giving these "blue hills" a try. Your warm water and warm weather has been a nice surprise. Sometimes a little too warm, but we are still debating! One thing we did find on Lake Anna that was a surprise was STAY DEEP!! Little fishies like to bite if you get too close to the shallows...that was new to us. Not welcome new, just NEW!! Not a happy turn of events for my six year old, who was then very leery of swimming for a few days...but overall we give this warm lake high marks. We have to, we spent HOURS soaking in it every day!! The bugs were not bad...we credited the spiders, which were abundant and must be doing their jobs. Also the birding was AWESOME!! Hawks, Eagles, Herons, Woodpeckers, Hummingbirds, and more. Many happy sightings! Lizards and toads were also to be found which the young boys loved...mother's were happy to see happy boys (and girls). Only sad thing that will keep us from renting here again were the steps. Too many STEPS!! to get up and down to the lake required athletic ability and stamina and will!! Sadly it made the lake unaccessable for some... Overall, high marks. cabins were lovely. Lake was lovely.

Perfect getaway - something for everyone!!
June 9, 2011
We gathered the entire four generations of our family together to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary --ages from 2 to 86. There was a sandy beach for the young kids, kayaking for the older kids and adults and fishing from the dock for everyone. The three floors of this wonderful house worked out great for us, with the children and their parents on the lower floor, my parents on the middle floor and my husband and I on the top floor - far from all the noise! We had everythinng we needed in the kitchen and used the barbeque every night. We even used the firepit for smores one night. All in all, a perfect time for all of us!
