“Close but not to close”
We stayed at the ice house in downtown lake geneva and it was a very authentic and unique building. The first thing we noticed was that the property is in a quiet residential area close to downtown ( two blocks ) but not in the downtown. The loft had roof windows throughout and the original pine flooring. The property includes a small bed and breakfast on the lakeside, so we did not have a view of the lake from the icehouse. The kitchen was small so we went out to eat most nights - Yippie!!! The one bathroom was small but functional but did not have a tub. We spent most of our time on the pier for those three days just chilling and floating in the lake. The steps going down to the lake were narrow, so this may be an issue for some handicap persons. The host Annabel was very helpful from a local perspective
“Great private house on the lake”
My family of 5 stayed at the ice house at 11 Gables and loved it. The house was comfortable and the lake/pier access was a big treat. The property owner was always nearby and ready to help if needed.
“Historic Inn - Ideally Located”
Quaint accomodations within an 1847 historic home located ideally close to town, but on the quieter end of a residential street. Looking out at Lake Geneva, the Veranda Suite included the private front porch where we spent our late afternoons reading, watching the activity on the lake and socializing. I can't say enough about the location: steps from the entrance to the southern 1/2 of the Lake Path; the private pier where we swam in the clear calm water; the one-block walk to downtown and the "boardwalk".
Gary is such a gracious host and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our stay. Nice quiet location, but so close to everything and the private pier by the lake was fantastic! Would absolutely stay again.
