Description of the Lake George vacation cabin rental
Located in the beautiful Tarryall Valley with scenic historic preservation sites along the winding picturesque byway, Lazy River Ranch is a hay and cattle ranch. It is also a well-stocked premier fly fishing paradise. 24" rainbow trout are not uncommon nor is the sighting of large elk, deer and big horn sheep. The elk and deer come down to the river in late evening or early morning to drink and a skillful hunter will even see wild turkey and sage grouse. At 8,800 to 9,000', the 160 acre ranch backs to the Lost Creek Wilderness and offers spectacular views from hiking trails that can take you up to 12,000'. The 3'000 sq foot ranch house is new, completed late summer of 2008, and is beloved by the owners because there are no mice!

The river is strictly fly fishing, catch and release (day passes sold separately) on 1¼ miles of stream bordered by some willows winding through irrigated hay meadows in a gently rolling valley bottom. You will hear coyotes and owls at night as you star gaze at a sky where you will clearly see the Milky Way and more stars than you knew existed. There is an outdoor fireplace to keep you warm and for roasting marshmallows. After just a day or two you will feel like you have finally gotten that long-needed rest. As your cares melt away you will see the world in a whole new light - come visit and discover!

Nice Place to Be There

August 1, 2011

We really have had a wonderful time spent there at Crazy River Ranch. Every thing was nice. The house beautiful, the area gorgeous, the places visited amazing. We got enchanted for those lovely visited spots. It's been a nice vacation. We were really excited visiting the different beautiful places from there. We hope we can have the chance to rent the house again in near future.

scenic retreat

The Lazy River Ranch is amazingly beautiful! The scenery is breath-taking; the wildlife is enchanting; the accomodations are fantastic. The beds are comfortable, the gas fireplace was a treat to take off the chill of the changing weather, the grill was especially useful, the water was hot for showers, had everything needed to cook real meals. It is a lot out-of-the-way, the roads need attention, but still a marvelous place to stay! The weather in May 2011 was c-r-a-z-y! Snow, sleet, rain, sun...and repeat, day after day. Can't wait to visit again!!!

A great place to stay!

October 26, 2010

Great views right by a winding Colorado river with lots of outdoor activity. The "Cabin" is actually modern, very well maintained and comfortable property for larger parties to enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking, or enjoying the panoramic views from the front porch and rooms. We walked from the property line to miles of public pine forests. There is trout, and pike in the river running through the property. Also check out the Tarryall tail waters and reservoir few miles upstream and come prepared to scope out the area if you are a hunter. We saw lots of elk and deer tracks right on the property. Given the competitive rates, the place, and the great service we received, this will definitely be the place for the next hunting or fishing outing for us.

Piece of Heaven

August 9, 2009

We couldn't believe anyone would want to share this little piece of heaven with others. It was all that was advertized and more. Hiking right out the back door, elk in the morning and such a peaceful setting. I even caught a fish! Whether you are indoors or out, peace abounded. Too many amenities to list. The owners are a special family, indeed!
