“So relaxing and peaceful!”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2016

I highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a peaceful, private and comfortable vacation rental on Lake Norman. The home is very roomy and cozy with a terrific kitchen. I was surprised by all the cookware, utensils, appliances and dinnerware that was provided. The owners are wonderful people and I'm so glad we got to meet and spend a little time together. This is a hidden treasure and I'm so glad we were able to experience it!

Owner's reply: Hi Betsy & Ralph Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We really enjoyed meeting you both and spending some time getting to know something about each other. We are so pleased you enjoyed staying in our home and very much look forward to seeing you both again. Carole & John

“Nice quite retreat”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2016

Situated on a quite cove that is ideal for recreational kayak or canoe paddlers, if you have a motorboat there its access to the main lake but take nav. equipment and a chart of the lake as it is a big one. The house is very clean with modern appliances and is wheelchair accessible but once inside there are large archways for easy access to kitchen and living room but it has wall to wall carpet which is hard to push a wheelchair when the occopant 240 lbs. Also the bathrooms have regular size doors which caused us a problem, ok if you have a light person or child that you can pick up and put on the toilet. There is good air condition and lots of hot water. The path down to the lake could do with some improvements as it was hard to get down, at least for me. There is ia dock that you can swim off or launch small boats and not far from the house there is a public launch ramp on Rt. 150 if you have a larger boat. The area is great if you are a NASCAR fan, which I am not, there are tours to see the race team garages and in town there is a car museum that has a good display of old cars and NASCAR race cars. Also not far there is an old plantation house and grounds as well as a Rapture refuge which is interesting. We only ate out once and that was a Big Daddy's seafood and steakhouse, you can't miss it as it is on Rt.150 and has race cars on the roof, prime rib is their special on Wed. and is very good, the seafood was also very good I was told by the others in our party. Lots of shopping near by, all the supermarkets and big box stores are near by and you are not out in the boondocks with nowhere to shop All said and done we enjoyed our stay as did our dogs who could run on the side yard next door the is owned by the landlords. I would recommend this house to anyone who want a quite place with no one around to annoy you or bother your inn any way.

“Phantastic holidays”

My husband and i are Germans and therefore my English is not so good... We enjoyed our stay so much because the house was so large, well in "Outfit", large terrace, very close to the lake. We didn´t miss anything!!

Owner's reply: Hi Dorothea and Juergen - Thank you so much for taking the time to do a review for us. We really appreciate it and are so pleased when people enjoy our home as much as we do. We fell in love with the view, the screened in porch, the large dock, the acre setting on the lake & the home. I am American but lived in the UK and Paris for almost 35 years and loved every minute of it. My husband, as you know is English. Again, thank you for the review & we hope to see you again. “Privacy on a lake”

Reviewed 26 Apr 2015

The house was perfect. It was private and had plenty of room for my husband and me ... and our dogs. There was wifi, cell service, and direct tv in most rooms ... and, actually, 4 more people could have easily stayed there. The washer and dryer was great to have. We especially loved the huge back porch that is enclosed and has screens. There are tables to eat there overlooking the lake. We would definitely stay there again since there are no negatives.

Owner's reply: Hi Laauren Thanks so much for the review. We really appreciate your taking the time to do a review, and are so pleased you enjoyed our home as much as we do. We enjoyed having you both stay and hope to see you again. Carole & John Beardon

“Fun on the lake”

Reviewed 12 Feb 2015

Pat and Fred are very nice landlords. They have made a beautiful vacation home stocked with all that is needed to enjoy a month away from the snow of Ohio. The weather, though not really warm, was bright and sunny for 20 of the 27 days we stayed here. We enjoyed the walking around the nice residential area near the home. As for quiet and relaxing, there was plenty. Our friends enjoyed coming to see us and we had plenty of room to entertain them. We have already committed to staying again next January and February and are very much looking forward to it. Thanks again for keeping such a nice home away from home.

“Beautiful Lake Norman”

A quaint home on a small inlet of Lake Norman, at the top of the lake on the quiet side. Very peaceful, dog friendly and plenty of space to roam...Last house on the lane. Carole and John are very friendly and helpful.

“House on Sparkling Lake”

Our grown family of 4 enjoyed our 5 day stay at this comfortable house. The landlord came immediately to restore the TV connection when this minor mishap occurred. The various boats and welcoming note with courtesy bottle of wine were appreciated. We swam every day and rented a ski boat as recommended in the clearly written guest manual. A very positive experience. We will return again from our home in Florida because our daughter will be working in Charlottee for the next few years. Harvey Gerber
