Reviews for this vacation home rental in Lake Travis, Texas

This is a beautiful home with an amazing view! It has a large infinity swimming pool with a great view of the lake, game room, Jacuzzi, a movie room, and plenty of space for the family. We rented a boat at the Lakeway Marina, which was a little bit of a drive but a pleasant enough drive. There are two nice wineries very close by which was a lot of fun. The grocery store is also a little bit of a drive, at least 25 miles. There are some convenience stores that are a little closer but I was not sure they would have everything that we needed. The kitchen had just about everything we needed except the knives did not cut anything and the oven cooked very unevenly. There is a nice grill outside. The rental service was very helpful and eager to meet your every need. They offer to buy and deliver your groceries to you if you want. We did not do this but it is a nice perk. Overall, a very beautiful home in a nice location.
I am so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay Stone House Lodge. I will definitely look at the knives and replace them. Thank you for letting me know. We strive to provide a perfect stay for all of our guest. Next time you visit and want to rent a boat please take advantage of our concierge services. The company we work with will bring the boat to your dock, tie it up and all you need to do is have fun! Thanks and take care, Marsha & Laci

Fairly nice and clean, some misc hair and other things were still dirty. Very nice house and pool, great location in regard to the the lake and surrounding areas. Did find a black moldy infested roll of toilet paper that repulsed us, but luckily didn't use that roll before we noticed.

Great family getaway!

Our immediate family goes on a summer vacation together every summer. We've been doing this for the past 10 years. Finding just the right place is not easy. We live in Texas and Louisiana and try to find a place that we can all drive to in eight hours or less. We've been to the coast several times and stayed in three separate condos, stayed in cabins up in the mountains of Arkansas and even stayed in motel rooms in Dallas and San Antonio. This year we "booked" the Stone House Lodge in the hill country of west Texas. It was only four hours away for our son and six hours away for the rest of us. For the FIRST time, the 14 of us would be staying together in one big house. Kind of scary, since all three families are so different but we were willing to take the chance. So glad we did! Our kids and grandkids stay "on the go" all year round so it was nice to come together and meet at a place (off the beaten path) where we could "CHILL-OUT!" There was so much to do.....no need to ever leave the place! We went for walks, rode bikes, counted deer daily, played pool, air hockey, fooshball, pin ball, slot machine, piano, watched movies, worked out, swam, read, cooked out, sunbathed, enjoyed the view and played charades, Pictionary and Apples to Apples in the evenings. We left the house a total of only three times in five days. We went out to eat at Angels Ice House our last night there. The food was great, friendly staff and the grandkids had a blast dancing their hearts out! One day all fourteen of us went zip-lining and picnicing just a few miles down the highway. And then another day we went for a relaxing 30 minute country drive and counted over 50 deer! Believe it or not, as many of us as there were (6 teenagers) everyone slept well. The hot tub might have had something to do with that. Ha! Great vacation. Great cousin bonding! All in all, great family time!
Best vacation ever!

Absolutely luxury living. Relaxing, quiet, entertaining with plenty of space. Chef Mark was recommended for us and he is amazing. Don't spend one minute cooking/cleaning - hire Mark! Heated pool is wonderful as is the hot tub. House easily sleeps 3 couples and 8 children. There is nothing missing in the house. Campfire, fishing, bike riding, basketball, swimming, movie theatre, game room... this list goes on and on. You won't get bored, you will get complete relaxation or fun or both! The rental company is easy to work with and has many services to offer. Have the best vacation ever at Lake Travis. The only negative is that you do have to leave eventually!

The Stone House Lodge has to be the most comfortable housing that our family has rented for our periodic reunions. Unfortunately, a cold front dramatically lowered temperatures and we were not able to use the infinite-edge swimming pool. Even so, my family was quite pleased with the accomodations and we would highly recommend it to all interested parties. Aaron D. (Dale) Cowell

This year our annual family vacation at the Comal River was ruined due to the closing of the river. We started a mad search for a replacement. To be honest we did not have high expectations. Boy, were we knock off our feet. The Stone House was wonderful. The kids big and small loved the lake, the swimming pool, the game room and the media room. The accomindations were excellent and the view was unbelieveable. Our stay at Stone House turned what could have been a very disappointing experience into a great one. Also a thanks goes out to Laci and Marsha you were both great.
