“Life Is Good”
We stayed here for a long weekend with our 4 grown children and it was the perfect getaway for us. The lake and the whole area is so beautiful and very serene. Morning coffee never tasted so good as when we sat on the pier or on the deck and drank it. Perfect days were spent on the lake in all the boats, & watching loons and bald eagles. Nights were perfectly wrapped up around the fire with smores and cocktails. One afternoon we went tubing and rafting at Bob and Jonis in White Lake which is about 20 minutes away. We had a blast and would highly recommend it. Connie has thought of everything you could possibly want or need at the cottage. We brought many things I knew we'd need but never had to use because she has the place so well stocked. The place is very clean ( and I look closely. Im a stickler for that ) The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is the lake bottom is silt and mucky and not sand, which is so much nicer for swimming. But the lake is crystal clear and the water felt like bath water and this alone would not stop us from coming back. Connie was so easy to work with and accommodating and we look forward to coming back again next summer.
My family and I stayed here last weekend as our way to get away one last time before the end of summer. We had a very relaxing time! The lake was nice and quiet, and we really enjoyed taking the canoe and paddleboat out on the water. We grilled some brats, relaxed by the fire, and did a little swimming. As a family of 6 we all had plenty of room. This is the perfect venue for a vacation by the water!
We took our son and his family to Connie's lake home for a week, and had a fantastic, relaxing week. We spent our days fishing, swimming, fishing, playing croquet, fishing, enjoying bonfires, fishing, loon watching, fishing, paddle boating, fishing, golfing, and MORE fishing! The home is very well supplied, and we felt very much at home. Thank you Connie, for sharing your family cottage with us and for being so responsive to our many questions. It was wonderful to be in the Lakewood area again!
“Bear Lake Vacation”
What a great place to vacation with our family. One of the few places that has a nice level yard all the way to the lake. Nice little swimming area for the kids. Clean, clear lake with nice size bass and northern. Kids had lots of fun catching blue gill and perch off the dock. Cottage is well equipped with everything you need. The best were the wonderful sunsets and loons on the lake(we saw up to five at one time). Campfires at night completed our days.We would definitely plan a return visit.
We just enjoyed another fabulous stay at this cottage! Our second year in a row and had a fantastic time. The men caught bass and northern and the women loved the paddle boat and swimming. The channel between Munger Lake and Bear Lake is beautiful and great for bird watching and photo ops! The cottage is a great HOME away from home. Very comfortable and has all that is needed to make a stay perfect. The owner, Connie, is a honey and is very ready to assist with any questions or concerns! We hope to continue to make this home ours each summer. Thanks, Connie!!
“Wonderful homey cottage”
We had a great time In Lakewood on Bear Lake. The men enjoyed the great fishing and the women enjoyed the paddleboat and the channel views of some great birds for our bird watching as well as the great time we had making cards and rubber stamping. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything that was needed. We will be sure to return.
“Fun on Bear lake”
4 generations of family stayed at Conni's Cottage over the holiday weekend in May. we caught plenty of fish with the highlight being a 22" walleye. Our family makes it an annual event to stay at Connie's. Lots of fun included swimming, fishing, boating, casino at night and family fire outside at night. Can't beat it for quality family time. The cottage is extremely comfortible and family friendly.
“too short of weekend”
had a very enjoy able stay, but as alway it rained one day, lotzof lakes around for the fishermen, the cabin sits on a very quite lake, beautiful. we just brought our towels, and foods, most of everything is there, its nice if people who stay maybe just leaving alittle something behind... I hope to rent it again in 2010 but for a longer time,, not far from green bay. connie is great...
“The comforts of home on the lake !”
My family and I had a fabulous time at Connie's cottage !! She had just about everything you would need at the cottage !! There was plenty of room for everyone, and being on the lake was wonderful !! It was a very quiet not populated lake and area, and we look forward to coming every year !! Thanks Connie
“Would have liked to have stayed longer”
I'm a owner of a cottage about 30 miles away that I could have stayed at but was looking for something closer to stay at while attending an annual golf outing. I found the setting to be next to pristine with a great view of only the Nicolet National forest across the lake. Being that we're away most of the time, I wasn't able to spend any time on the lake and left with a feeling that I wish I would have taken a couple of extra days just to hang out at the cottage and lake. We were able to take advantage of the fire pit and I told Connie I'm going to incorporate some of her ideas in improving the fire pit at my cottage. I would highly recommend this cottage and set up. In fact, I already have to a co-worker with family who has been talking about renting a cabin up in Northern WI this summer.
