Description from owner

M&M Hill Country Creekside is a unique and captivating retreat among Texas hill country vacation rentals. We like to call it 'paradise in a 20 acre hill-country bottle.' And if gas prices or the shaky economy requires you to stretch your vacation dollar, you won't find a better value among Texas hill country vacation rentals.

What do our guests enjoy most about their time at M&M Creekside?

Swimming, Wading, and Fishing along our 1600 ft of Spring-fed Sulfur Creek frontage

Relaxing on our 30' x 13' ft balcony overlooking the creek and 20 acres

Hiking the ridges and creekline of our 20 acres

The private pool

Two hill country wineries within 5 miles of our front door; two more wineries within 30 miles.

Hancock Park Golf Course only 3 miles from our front door

Comfortably accommodating large groups with our ability to sleep 18 in beds

Touring the local shops, restaurants, and historic district of Lampasas

Gathering around the two wood-burning fireplaces and outdoor fire pit for wintertime retreats

Inks Lake and Colorado Bend State Parks within and hour's drive.

Half-day outings to the shops and art galleries of Salado

Having a Walmart and HEB grocery less than three miles away

Creating hill country memories that last for generations.

Entering the south gate of M&M Creekside is the start of your leaving a crowded world behind. Cedar-lined hillsides descend to open pasture lands sprinkled with mature oaks and several other species of native trees growing along the over 1600 ft. of vibrant, spring-fed Sulfur Creek. This creek is the source of our guests' inspiration and rejuvenation, which is no surprise given the fact that Lampasas was settled in the mid-1800's for the curative power of its springs. Our creek runs year-round and features waterfalls and several deep pools - perfect for swimming, tubing, fishing, skipping rocks, or just sitting under a tree and watching a Fall leaf make its lazy way down river.

A spacious 3500+ square foot home features 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths on two stories. Four of the five bedrooms offer private french-door access to the rear patio and deck that overlook the private pool and creek below. Elderly guests who have difficulty with stairs need not worry, as the two stories operate as a 1st floor main level with kitchen, family room, and two bedrooms, with a stairway leading downward to a basement level with three additional bedrooms and gameroom.

The open kitchen includes a big breakfast area and beamed ceiling. The main floor living features a fireplace and wraparound deck looking directly onto the creek and across the property's pasture lands. The master bedroom includes an entrance to the deck and its own private full bath. A 2nd bedroom on the main floor also has access to a 2nd full bath. The main level also features a large utility room with washer/dryer and half bath. The basement floor includes a large gameroom with a 2nd fireplace, 3 large bedrooms, a full bath, and a full wet bar and microwave. The gameroom has french doors leading to a stone patio with BBQ area and a beautiful pool overlooking Sulfur Creek. The entire property is gated and fully fenced, lending to the privacy that hill country vacationers prefer.

About the area

Located in Lampasas, TX, this Texas Hill Country Vacation Rental is about 45 miles northwest of Austin, 170 miles south of Dallas, and 115 miles north of San Antonio. While secluded on County Road 3010, our creekside ranch is only minutes from Highways 190, 183, and 281 and only 2 miles away from a full service Walmart w/ grocery. The tourist-friendly town square of Lampasas is easily walkable, sprinkled with local shops and the kind of country cookin' restaurants that have faithfully served the town's lifelong residents. Hancock Park Golf Course offers 18 holes of scenic fairways and greens that interplay with the hills and creek on which Lampasas was founded. Lampasas also features two local wineries you may be interested in touring: Pillar Bluff and Texas Legato. Bring a bottle back from one of these local vineyards and enjoy a glass of wine from our balcony as the sun sets on our hill country horizon. It doesn't take long to access many of the hill country's outdoor and entertainment assets from M&M Creekside's central location. An hour's drive west takes you to Colorado Bend State Park. Lake Buchanan is also a similarly short drive to the southwest, and Inks Lake State Park is only 40 minutes from your front door. More golf options await in nearby Copperas Cove (Copperas Cove Golf Course) and Burnet (Delaware Springs Golf Course). Then there is Austin. Depart M&M Creekside in the late afternoon and you'll arrive in central Austin in just over an hour, ready to savor the dining and music delights of 6th Street, or to join 98,000 of your closest friends at a primetime Texas Longhorns football game. So if you are looking for a hill country destination to serve your honeymoon, family reunion, pastoral retreat, boy scout troop, romantic getaway, or long-overdue recharging of the soul, M&M Creekside (and a creek full of catfish and bass) awaits your arrival! “great family retreat”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2015

We rented this home for the 4th of July weekend. The house has plenty of room for a large family gathering. Our grandchildren enjoyed the wonderful pool and fishing in the creek. The house had everything we needed. The only disappointment we had was the fire pit. The fire pit in the back yard of this house is beautiful.....with large rocks to sit on around the pit. We had promised the little ones that we would make smores, but the weeds were so tall around the pit and in the pit, that we couldn't comfortably build a fire. Really wished the maintenance people had mowed around the pit area. Everything else was GREAT!! Would definitely stay here again!!!!!!

Owner's reply: Thank you, Lynch family. I wish I would have known about the grass being high around the fire pit, I would have immediately called Jerry to mow. We hope you come again and the fire pit will be beautiful and READY TO GO next time! We work very hard to keep things nice and we are improving all the time. We very much appreciate your business and hope you come visit again. Jane Thomas, Owner

“M & M Creedkside Review”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2015

Loved the place. Very nice and met our expectations. Plenty of room for my guests. We found the place to be clean and well kept. Loved the pool area, as that the main reason we booked the place. We go somewhere every year. Will definitely make a return trip.

We enjoyed the stay at this house. There was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen has everything you will need. The pool was the best thing about this place. We are hoping to go back next year.

Owner's reply: Thanks for your great review. M&M Creekside is a really great place and we work hard to make it so for our guests. We hope to see you next year for sure! Jane Thomas, Owner

“Great place to stay”

Reviewed 22 Apr 2014

This was our first time to stay at M&M Creekside, but it will certainly not be our last. Everything about the property was as advertised. We had a full house of people and plenty of room. Sometimes it was almost a game trying to find everyone to get them together. The dinner bell on the back porch came in handy several times to call in the fishermen, which by the way caught some nice ones in the creek. Some of the young brave ones even tried out the pool. A little chilly in April, but then kids don't really mind if they're having fun. It was a great weekend and very relaxing.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for the great review! We are so happy you were satisfied with your stay and we hope you come again soon! Jane Thomas Owner

“Great Time At Creekside”

Reviewed 30 Jan 2014

Our family had a reunion January 4th and 5th at M&M Creekside. Everything was so relaxing, from hiking on the beautiful property or sitting on the deck enjoying nature. Winter is lovely and it's a great place to snuggle up in the spacious living room next to the fireplace. Everything is provided which makes it easy to jump in the car and go. The owners are wonderful and gracious. Our family had a great time and we will definitely go again.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your visit AND great review! We hope you come again soon!

Ideal property to get away and relax, even though you're .5 miles from the highway it seems you're in the country. I will definitely go back again!

“Great family/friend vacation house”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2013

If you like to enjoy a low key outdoorish vacation rental this is the place for you. It comfortably fit 4 families. The creek is full of average size fish, which is great for kid fishing( bass, crappy, catfish). The pool is great for kids to adults. All around great place to stay and enjoy friends/families.
