“Most relaxing family vacation EVER!”
Our family selected this property for our family vacation this year. We also took with us two other families. There was plenty of room for everyone (10 people total). The property is amazing! It was such a relaxing and calming location. The kids were constantly fishing, and when the adults weren't fishing, we were able to watch the kids from the house. It is close enough that you can even communicate from the house to the dock. During our stay, we rented the pontoon boat on the property. Chris was very quick at responding to any questions that we had and was very accommodating the entire week. We could not have asked for a better experience. It was such a great time. We even met the neighbor man, Larry. The kids caught some fish the first night that we were there and then our luck changed for the duration of our time and the fish didn't bite any longer. Nonetheless, we all left with smiles on our faces. We are excited to do it again next year.
Owner's reply: I'm really glad you had a great time at the cabin.
“Gorgeous Home and Lake”
Enjoyed a great week with our two teenage daughters in this beautiful home in the woods. Shared it with another couple and their two teenage daughters. It's big and wide open, so there was plenty of room for everyone. The loft, which became the "kids" room is huge with four full/queen size beds. So really, the house can sleep 13. It house is well stocked with any kind of convenience you might need. My daughter even found a food processor so she could shred zucchini and make bread. The basement has a bar and pool table, and we had some competitive games down there. The lake, Landing Lake, was peaceful, and relaxing to watch while sitting out on the huge deck. We enjoyed taking the pontoon boat, kayaks and canoe out on it. Plenty of shallow places where we could get out and just float and play in the water. Got to see plenty of wildlife, too, with bald eagles living on the island and always flying around. We had fun watching the loons, and a chipmunks, too. Enjoyed fishing in the lake, with several large Northerns caught. This property is so relaxing, it is a great place to get away and just do nothing. Not even any too-close neighbors to bother you. Cooked several meals at home in the kitchen and on the grill, and sampled great food at various local restaurants. We also really enjoyed Black Oak Lake, just up the road from the property. It had a sandy beach area and was larger and deeper than Landing. Had a very nice boat dock at which to launch our ski boat, and we spent a couple days hanging out there on the beach and skiing and tubing. Shelia, the owner, was fabulous to work with. Answered all our questions, gave us great suggestions, and was always available for a phone call if we had another question once we got there. Highly recommend this property and would love to go back sometime.
“Beautiful Place - felt like home!”
What a place! It is beautiful and the view! We were a group that came up and snowmobiled. The house was perfect for us and accommodated all very well. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities of home. The owners left a detailed map on how to find the trail. ..which was a great help! Definitely will book this place again!
Owner's reply: Glad you enjoyed the home ,hope you stay again. Thanks for the pizza cutter back I received it in the mail today. Thank you !
“What a relaxing week”
What an amazing vacation! The cabin was beautiful ! The owners were so wonderful to work with. Anything and everything was there at our disposal, from life jackets for us as well as 1 for our 2 year old grandson to chairs to sit at by the campfire. There was enough towels for everyone to use, an extra set of sheets for the beds. We had a minor problem with the key getting in, but Sheila went above and beyond to try and fix it by reserving a room at the local hotel! We can not say enough about how wonderful she and her cabin were! My wife and I don't fish, but our 11 and 12 year old girls wanted to try it out and they were so happy to catch fish( small ones). That made it even better for all. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone, if it was a family of 4 to a family of 10 there is plenty of room
Owner's reply: I'm glad you had a great time ,hope you come again you were very understanding about the key that was miss placed.
“Excellent up north experience”
Our stay was fantastic! The pictures online do not do this home justice. The home was roomy for our two families traveling together and we left completely relaxed. What do teenage kids do without wifi? They fish, kayak, play games outside and even created some new games. While this is really up north...there are several other towns near by if you are looking to shop or do tourist type things. The home owners were very easy to work with and I am grateful they shared their beautiful home with us. P.S. If you are looking for a great fish fry on Friday nights...try the Redman. Also stop out at Bents camp...very unique bar/restaurant.
Owner's reply: I was very happy that you had a good time thanks for coming
“Ready to go back”
Had a great stay in a beautiful home and lake. From here we made the hour drive up to the U.P. to check out some waterfalls and enjoyed other attractions of the North-woods. Ready to check out of work life and go back to the peacefulness.
“An enjoyable vacation”
We met together at the lake home as a family. We fished, played games, had a bonfire and enjoyed the beautiful view. The home was beautiful and met our needs perfectly. Sheila was wonderful to work with and very accommodating. We would highly recommend staying here!!
This cabin is absolutely beautiful! If you want the look Nd feel of a log cabin...thesis the spot! The cabin was fully furnished with everything you would need at home! Clean, comfortable beds, lots of beds, great shower, relaxing atmosphere! We watched the eagles on the lake numerous times! Sherri was great to work with!
“Beutiful Area and Home”
First, Sheila was very nice to deal, with and answered all my questions prior to our trip. She was extremely prompt with the contract and all details for booking their home. Next, the house is beutiful. Very nicely done and very comfortable. We had 6 people and stayed very comfortably. Everthing was there that you will need. The basement area is still being finished, but it wasn't a probelm to stay in the bedroom down there. I'm sure it will be very nice when it is done. The scenery was also beutiful. Enjoyed Bald Eagles, Blue Herrons, Otters, Turtles, Deer and fishing. If fishing is why you're there though, Landing Lake is not the place. Caught some Perch and a couple nice Northern and a whole lot of Bull Heads. I'd recommend that you just keep the boat on the trailer and head to the Eagle Chain to do your fishing. It's only a 17 mile drive from the Cabin and it's world class fishing. Another reason to keep your boat on the trailer is because you might not get your boat back out of the lake. The "landing" is make-shift consisting of some cement slabs laid in the water and I had to go through a lot of work to get my boat in the water and it was almost impossible to get it back on the trialer and out of the water. I only have a 16' Bass Boat and it almost stayed up there. That landing might work for Pontoon Boats that don't have to get set so deep in the water, but a V Hull boat like mine or bigger does not work on that "landing". There are also no public landings and surprisingly only one other make-shift landing at a neighbors property that I found and that I almost ended up having to use. Kind of ironic for a lake called "Landing". Overall, we had a very nice time and enjoyed the home, town and establishments there very much. It was very relaxin and was close enough to Eagle River and Minocqua to drive there and enjoy those towns as well. Oh, last thing, and I know the owners have no controll over this one, but the Mosquitos up there are the size of flying Chihuahua's and they number in the tens of thousands. Worst I've ever seen. If you were up on the deck of the house, it wasn't too bad, but if you were on the ground, it was terrible. Thanks so much for letting us enjoy your home.
The house was very nice. Its a beautiful log cabin and the view of the lake is very pretty. Caught some fish but not a lot. It was very quiet and peaceful. It's a long drive to Eagle River from there but the town of Land O Lakes is nice and has everything you need. I would recommend this place for families but it's not good for anyone who has problems with stairs. The house had everything and you really didn't need to bring a thing. It would be helpful if the owners would post some rules and directions for renters so they know what to do about bedding, garbage etc.
