Description of the Landrum vacation home rental
The Space

Situated very near the new Tryon International Equestrian Center, close to Harmon Field and FENCE (Foothills Equestrian Nature Center) - perfect for the traveling horse person or team, athlete in training or people just looking for outdoorsy adventures in the Upstate of SC and Thermal Belt of NC.

Not fancy, but not pricey. We are friendly and are 'horse people'.

Located in the hamlet of Gowensville, SC, in the beautiful Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this accommodation is a guest suite in a private home/horse property.

We are a very short drive to the center of Landrum, SC and to Tryon and Mill Spring, NC as well as Traveler's Rest, Spartanburg, Greenville SC and only an hour to cooler than cool Asheville NC.

The air conditioned one bedroom/one bath suite features a private entrance with a small office, living room with deck access (and access to a dog run).

Queen-sized bed, ensuite full bath (with ironing board); walk-in closet. Linens and towels provided.

An airbed can be set up in the suite's living room to accommodate additional guests (We accept a maximum of 4 adults or not to exceed 5 people total in a combination of adults/children.

This is the perfect place to stay for those traveling to regional dog shows, horse shows or to clinics with training pros. We don't mind animal fur nor horse poo/dirty boots! The driveway has plenty of room for you to park your horse trailer, if needed.

Equestrians, bicyclists, kayakers, hikers and others looking for fun in the Blue Ridge will find a cozy home away from home here.

This part of the Foothills is popular with competitive bicyclists in trainingon the flat or on a grade, you will see many cycling clubs traversing our terrain. The area is also ideal for outdoor enthusiasts looking for nearby kayaking and hiking adventures -- and there's always The Gorge Zipline in nearby Saluda, NC.

Price per night is based upon a 1-2 person occupancy; additional individuals can be accommodated for a small additional fee -- as mentioned above, a comfy air mattress can be set up in the den/living room for them. Children age 6 and under- no charge; limit of 3 children.

If you are an athletic pro or horse-show parent, for example, traveling with minors who are not your own children, the child's parents' permission for his/her accommodation must be provided in advance of visit.

---15 minutes to the Palmetto Trail (trailhead access in the center of Landrum)
20 minutes to FENCE (Foothills Equestrian Nature Center)
--- 15-20 minutes to Harmon Field in Tryon, NC
26 minutes to Mill Spring/Green Creek/Columbus NC and the new Tryon International Equestrian Center

We are right on the Gowensville Equestrian Nature Trail System (private - guide will be needed).

Centrally located between Asheville, NC, and Spartanburg /Greenville SC. If you are flying into the area, we are a mere 30 minutes from the Greenville-Spartanburg airport and about 1.5hrs from the Charlotte, NC, airport.

+++++++++++++++

For the non-horsey portion of your crew or when you want a break from horse/dog/biking activities, there are awesome antique stores in Landrum SC, Tryon NC and Hendersonville NC. Nearby restaurants are reasonably priced and food is terrific.

Visit Campbell's Covered Bridge (historic site) just a few miles away or take a trip to Biltmore or Pierson's Falls/Ceasar's Head for hiking.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
We are seriously horse-crazy here and have been horseowners since 1991 so have loads of experience.

If you are traveling with your horses and would prefer to house them with you rather than leave them at the showgrounds, arrangements can be made for up to 2 horses to be housed here. Fees will apply and will depend upon what accommodations are neededlet's chat!
